Beware ! They require LARGE deposits that do not get refunded. See below:
I rented a car from Enterprise October 2015, I was required to leave a deposit of over 700 Euro's. I returned the car in perfect condition, full of gas and washed and clean inside and out. I was told at the drop off location at the Airport that my deposit would be refunded in 24 hours. It is now Feb. 2016, I still have not received my deposit back. It took many hours of my time, many, many emails to finally find someone that spoke English and could understand my situation. ALL of the French customer service people were more than rude, they were actually aloof and told me that they were not able to understand me and hung up on me. i finally got Mr. Steve Lawson as a representative of Enterprise. He assured me that I would be getting my deposit back within a week, upon our initial communication. That was in November 2015. I have been told by Mr. Lawson that Enterprise is aware of serious problems in refunding deposit money for customers that have US bank cards. He also told me that my money was in limbo, somewhere between my bank and Enterprise's bank and that he could not access it and that it was up to my bank to find the money and get it back for me. He instructed me to call my bank and straighten this out for myself. Mr. Lawson has stopped responding to my emails, refuses to provide me with documentation for me to even approach my bank with to try to work this out and will not return my voice mails. This has been going on now for over three and a half months. I need results.

As one can plainly see they DO NOT give the information that I kindly requested, then ask ME for more information. Follow up to today:
Dear Enterprise-
I rented a car from you at the Nice Airport in October of 2015. I was required to make a large deposit for this car. I was told at the time I made this deposit that i would get the deposit back within 24 hours of the return of the car. I returned the car a week later. It is now Feb. 2016, and I still have no return of the deposit. After spending many hours on the phone and wrting emails, i finally got to an English speaking person at Enterprise, Mr. Steve Lawson, he assured me that I would get my return of my deposit shortly, that was back in November of 2015. In many emails back and forth, which I will be VERY happy to forward to you, Mr. Lawson told me that Enterprise was well aware of a problem with refunds of deposits, that I was not the first to have this problem, and he continued to assure me that I would be getting my money back soon. In December 2015, Mr. Lawson graciously allowed me a gratuitous rental for a car. Since that time Mr. Lawson has stopped answering my calls and emails. He finally answered me a week ago and told me that the problem was "out of his hands" and that it was up to me to deal with my bank to get my money back.

The run around, for MONTHS. There is no excuse for this, and Enterprise is AWARE of the problems with the refund process, yet does nothing to change or improve the system. read more
