Although our main courses never came out, they were willing to comp them and we were more than OK with that. We came for Saturday breakfast since we were planning to be in Knightsbridge for the afternoon. We ordered their black truffled scrambled eggs on toast, crushed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, and the ripe honey mango w/Thai basil & kaffir lime and some pastries. The black truffled eggs were good especially with the entire surface covered in black truffles, but to me the toast was a bit dry and the creamy eggs weren't enough to overcome the dryness in the toast. The star of the meal was the honey ripe mango. It was perfectly ripe with the hint of basil and kaffir lime in each bite. The presentation was simply beautiful. The decor and ambience is casual but at the same time elegant. There are elegant details everywhere starting at the entrance door and throughout the restaurant - the table top, the metal stamped H, I, D or E letters imbedded randomly on the edge of the tables, to the hearth where their pastries and bread are baked and showcased, and the opaque glassed kitchen above the main dining area where you see outlines of the staff working. Breakfast at HIDE was a pleasant and memorable dining experience. Will try dinner service next time. HIDE is located across from Green Park, not far from Buckingham Palace, and not too far from Knightsbridge. It's an ideal location when in the area.

Because of this, I'm always looking to try new places for wine. We happened to finish up our shopping on Jermyn street, and Fortnum and Mason were around the corner so we stopped in for something to relax. First, it is inside Fortnum and Mason and it's downstairs. So you must traverse through all the goodies to get to the place. It's not huge, but it is a nice place. They do wines by the bottle, glass or, if you're feeling super experimental, by the flight. I'm a huge fan of wine flights, and we opted for the champagne of the month flight. It was three glasses from their featured bubbly. And they were all good. The service can be a bit slow at times, but it's impeccable. They really go above and beyond when they make a mistake or there is a problem! There was a slight problem with our bill (the price of the flights were £3 too high), and while it took them awhile to get it sorted, they made sure we were completely happy before we left. (A little extra bubbly on the house? Don't mind if I do!) If I'm in the area, I'll be back. It's a bit pricier than other places, but it's nice to have a variety.

It was a Sunday afternoon, and were surprised how easily we were about to find seats even though it was packed like sardines upstairs. We started drooling over the cheese cart, so we ordered the selection of 3 for £12 (2 for £8, 5 for £15) and it came with a wonderful mix of crackers (or biscuits as you Brits call it) and bread. Definitely come here after a day of shopping in the area.

It's a quaint little Italian spot in the heart of London and it's a wonderful place to spend, especially at night. We ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, the Strozzapreti Boscaiola, and a Bellini and Mimosa to go with our dinner. The food took just a little while to get here but I was sure that it was because they were taking their care with every dish the chefs made. I was right. The pasta was fresh, the sauce and the ingredients tasted very simple and hearty. It all tasted like my hypothetical imaginary nonna made it. The drinks were very good too and complimented the food nicely. Our waiter was absolutely the nicest guy ever. He was very attentive and made sure that we were happy with everything. In my head, I was going to tip him well, and then when we got the check, there was no option to tip. God save the UK. America could learn a thing or two about what it means to not make life all about work. That's beside the point. If you're in London, visit Bon Gusto. I can't wait to come again and happily hand them my money with the biggest smile on my face.

Both pastas were cooked to perfection and the sauces were fabulous. I had the crème brûlée and my wife had the Panna Cotta with Lemoncello both were home made and delicious as was the Lemoncello. Our server Donna was wonderful and we even met the owner Giovanni who stopped by the table to make sure we had a excellent dinner and we told him how disappointed we were to be leaving the next day and unable to return again for dinner. If you have the opportunity to dine here don't pass it up you won't regret it believe me. Back to NYC tomorrow
