The lady I talked to said it would be around $150.00 for the two items which I thought was quite high. On 4/30 at 4:27 I got a call that their truck was full and could not pick up my stuff until and next morning. This was very inconvenient for me as I was leaving that evening for Chicago. So I had no choice but to stay to the next morning. The guy said he would be at my place at 8:00 am on Saturday to pick my stuff. I drove from a hotel to my apartment and waited 45 minutes for them. When they got there they said it would be $185.00 for 2 items. I had no choice as I was already late to leave. Junkluggers is a big ripoff company so don't use them.

The project at my house consisted of removing of an above ground swimming pool that was countersunk into the ground with three levels of retaining wall block that needed to be removed and hauled away. I also had things that weren't in the original quote that they were happy to take for no additional charge. I met Don through the Mod Wash car wash on Manchester Rd in Akron and he gave me his business card for junk removal going through the car wash. I asked him plainly if they move workout equipment because I needed a treadmill and home gym moved from one room into the basement. He said absolutely! So I reached out and got a quote and moved forward. The day comes for him to arrive and he shows up with his son. I show them both where the equipment is and they get to work. Immediately they try to lift the treadmill and they're struggling. They knew what they were lifting and how much it weighed because I told him that information during the quote, so I thought Don would at least show up with some moving shoulder straps or someone more qualified than his son, but they said they could both do it. They damage the treadmill trying to just slide it down the basement stairs breaking a part of the covering off and scuffing up the entire side of it. I could have slid it down the stairs myself and saved the money if I knew that's what they were going to do. All of this is recorded as well from security cameras I have set up. I reach out to him the next day about the damage and he tries to worm his way out saying they're not responsible for any damage. It does say that on their website, but it strictly lists it for junk removal, which is not what he was hired for. So he offers a refund for the cost of the service which wouldn't even cover the damage done to the equipment, but I didn't want him to lose money since his business was just starting out so I accepted thinking he would actually keep his word. I can also verify that refund offer through email and text. It's been 8 months now of him listing every excuse in the book. First, he had to bail his son out of jail so he couldn't afford it. Then he wasn't getting any business for the junk removal so he couldn't afford it. Then he broke his leg in a car crash. Then he had jury duty. Now he doesn't even respond. I don't recommend Don or his illegitimate business at all. Go with a place that carry's liability insurance so they can actually pay if they cause any damage. Don doesn't care if he damages what he's moving, your home, your car, your property and he sure won't make it right if he does. If I could give zero stars, I would.
