This store was right down the street from where we were staying at The DeSoto so we all ended up there multiple times over our stay for water, snacks, and White Claws. I will say the only downside is that the pricing on everything was a little high but the housewares was a little cray-cray. We were admiring a green resin bowl and decided we didn't need to spend $30 on a bowl at the gas station. At the last minute, we said, what the hell, we're on vacation, let's get it. As I scanned it at the self checkout, I saw that it came up as $130... which had to be a mistake RIght?!? When we double checked we noticed that the 1 in the 130 was written in by hand. I'm guessing because their pricing gun doesn't go above 2 digits... because why would it. I know you're the fancy Parkers but damnnnnn!

First bite - yuck The dough and crust was under cooked - doughy and chewy. The pie was loaded with cheese and sausage and very skimpy on the pepperoni. The cheese was bland and even slightly burnt- low quality. Pepperoni was tasteless. The sauce was missing - could not even find a trace of it on the pie. Worst pizza I had ever had ! Yuck times 10 ! Not worth my time to return. I'll just eat the cost and never order again. Was really surprised because it looked so good - but that's it ! Trust me skip it - they need some serious help to make this a better pizza. If your desperate go to the freezer section -anything you select from there will be 1000 X better !! I tossed mine in the trash can and apologized to the wastebasket ! Yuck !

A few years ago I learned from social media that Publix has really good handmade subs. So we tried and have had a good experience every time. You basically go up to the deli area and order. I got a chicken salad wrap with lots of veggies. My only complaint really is it was very soggy. And became difficult to eat. It wasn't bad in taste really just berry soggy and dripping. Next time I won't get that. It is just plain chicken salad. Mayo and chicken. Needs some seasoning too. The rest of the subs were a hit. I do have to say the deli team member was very nice. But did not speak much English. Which made it a bit difficult to ask questions and ask for ingredients on the sandwich. She was nice and we made it through. We will be back next year.

We found ourselves on the Waze direction turning right down a rather long windy road that looked as if we had inputted the wrong address. Drove up to the Palmetto Bluff Greeter's Cottage... by this time I am FOR SURE thinking I got the directions wrong, yet NO this is indeed located on Exclusively private residential grounds. The greeters were especially nice asked what I was about and I explained that I was looking for the market... at that one lady perked up and excitedly told me about the BEST Chocolate Croissants (that melt in your mouth) at the market. We followed the map they handed me and wound our way through manicured grounds and looming lush Palmetto trees. The market has a gas station as well and is a small high-end kinda 'general store' for the residents. The market, the Montage Palmetto Bluff and maybe 2 other restaurants located on the grounds are open to the public however... imagine if you will a sort of "Pleasantville' or 'Truman Show' neighborhood that is what you have here. Be sure to read your pass that they have given to you... you aren't allowed on any of the roads except for the main roadway. Seriously if you think to go being a 'looky-loo' it feels as if the ENTIRE compound eyes are drawn to you LOL We didn't do this but we did mosey over to check out Montage Palmetto Bluff Resort then high-tailed it out of there. The Frito Chips were advertised on special for 4 for $10 or whatever the regular price per item was if you didn't purchase 4 bags of the same size/options. When I checked out, I asked the attendant if I could use a store Kroger/coupon card, as I'm not.a local and don't have a Kroger card (we don't have Kroger where I live). The attendant acted somewhat odd - and I wondered if perhaps I had offended her because I didn't greet her properly (though I was not rude) before asking about using a store Kroger card for the discounts. She didn't respond to me at first and then asked how I was. After we completed the pleasantries, I then asked again about the discount card usage and she agreed that she would be glad to help with my request. We made pleasant talk as she rang the order up, though her mannerisms seemed to indicate she was exhausted or possibly on some type of medication. I asked if she was tired and ready to go home, which she denied and then she talked about her allergies. We spoke about allergies for a bit and then I used my credit card to pay once the grocery order was complete and she used the store discount card to apply to the order. After paying, I looked at the receipt and noted it did not appear the chips rang up as 4 for $10. She questioned my thinking and I showed my receipt. She continued acting somewhat odd, as if medicated or something. I offered to take a photo of the coupon at the shelves where I observed the coupon and left my receipt with her while I went to the chip aisle. I came back to the register and walked up to her with my phone. She asked me to wait, as she had taken the next folks in line behind me by this point - which I did with no issue/patiently. When she finished the folks behind me in line, she looked at my phone showing the coupon on the store shelf with the advertised price and the brands, etc. included in the coupon. She seemed unsure and seemed to continue to question my logic as well as act somewhat addled. I decided to move on and asked for the receipt. She said she didn't keep it. I did not argue nor did I attempt to correct her. I matter of fact stated, I left it with you when I went to look at the coupon. I also stated that if this was the worst thing that ever happened to me, I would live a good life and I then turned to go. She called me back from the door holding up the receipt. I then looked at the receipt with her and attempted to talk about the question again. She indicated that I didn't use my phone coupon and that was the issue. At this point, I stated that I would not have purchased 4 bags of chips without the coupon and I just wanted to return the others and keep the bag if chips I originally wanted without the coupon/discount. She indicated I could not return at the register and would need to go to customer service. There were two other attendants around/in the area observing all or part of the transaction and/or issue I described above. I never observed either of them attempt to assist with this issue either. At this point, I decided it was better to just leave, as it didn't seem anyone was capable, willing and/or able to assist with the issue. It seemed to me that the attendant was troubled by the whole issue - possibly resulting from her addled condition - which I do not know if it was her ordinary method of interacting with customers or if she was responding/reacting to some particular situation/circumstance, or even me in particular, etc. I don't think I ever lost my cool nor do I think I was rude. This is just one of the reasons why the big box stores are not always really the better places to shop. They often do not have the personalized feel of a store where the ownership or manager or the employee has a vested interest in high level customer service. I did not experience what I call great customer service and the situation was aggravating for sure. Again - if this is the worst thing that ever happens to me - I will live a great life. Regardless, the point is the lack of ability to provide good customer service and help resolve what should have been a simple issue. Better luck next time and maybe I need to just keep my business at the locally owned and operated Piggly Wiggly on the island. Their customer service has always been fantastic and they seem to know what to do when dealing with customers.
