I've personally worked my way through most of the menu over time, so I was excited for them to try it. It was around 9am so it was still fairly quiet and calm. Believe me it gets busy!! We started with orange juice and a Sunrise Matcha while we looked over the menu and caught up. The service was excellent (always) attentive, friendly, and relaxed, which made it easy to take our time. My companion ordered the B Street Bowl (potatoes, smoked brisket, onions, and peppers) with the queso served on the side and eggs cooked to order(fried hard). I ordered The Chenal which is their seasoned grilled shrimp with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes over cheesy grits. I added an over-medium egg and a side of hollandaise. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly satisfying. The portions were huge, and we each ended up taking a to-go box home for a mini meal later. It's the kind of brunch spot where you can sip your drink, take your time, and leave very full. Tip: If you order the B Street Bowl, getting the queso on the side lets you control the richness. Everything is amazing here. If you're a newbie, you can't go wrong with a Benedict!

Traveling through a Little Rock for work, my group decided to grab breakfast before flying out. We came in due to the raving reviews from a multitude of online sources and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Root Benny and the blueberry muffin based on the host's recommendation. First cut into my poached egg and I already knew it was the start of a culinary journey. Absolute flavor and texture perfection. The seasonal greens (steamed kale?) paired so well with the greens and the crostini was the perfect vehicle for yolk dipping. The blueberry muffin was small but delicious--exactly what you should expect from a muffin. I wish I would've remembered to order the cookies to go. I suppose I'll have to come back.

Their classic lemonade was delicious, and the perfect complement to my meal. I'd highly recommend The Root Cafe for a memorable meal!

One of our friends (and a Little Rock native) recommended Boulevard Bread Company, and we're so grateful that we stopped to check this cute spot out! There are a few Boulevard locations in Little Rock, and while this one wasn't the most convenient to the highway, it was still open for lunch as we were driving through the city around 2:30 PM. I placed our order online from the road, so when we pulled in, our sandwiches were ready and waiting! I'm glad we did order ahead, as they were still pretty busy when we arrived. We grabbed a table and enjoyed our lunch inside the cafe. We split a couple of their signature sandwiches, and our favorite of the two was the pastrami. The rye bread pairs quite nicely with the roast beef. We also shared the turkey sandwich, which was good but not as memorable as the pastrami. I can confidently say that we'd make Boulevard our new go-to road trip stop in Little Rock! From the freshly baked bread and tasty sandwiches to the friendly service, this is a solid spot for lunch.

So when I finally got the chance to stop by for an early dinner with a friend, I was excited. Unfortunately, the reality of the experience just didn't live up to the expectations. The two stars are strictly for the vibes--because eating outside under the stars on a warmed patio in the fall? That was beautiful. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted: cozy, inviting, and perfect for a chill evening. Our server team was friendly, and everyone committed to us having a nice time there--including the cooks. But the food? Completely unseasoned. Everything was cooked well, but there was zero flavor. I mean, none. It felt like whoever made it had all the technique in the world but forgot to add even a pinch of salt. And because I met the cook, I'd venture to guess that's how Red Door told him to cook it. I'm pretty sure he seasons his food at home. For a place I had been waiting so long to try, the lack of flavor was a huge turnoff--especially since this spot ain't cheap. If you're coming for the ambiance, you'll have a great time. Just grab some appetizers and you'll be good to go. But if you're coming for flavorful food that makes you want to come back? This ain't it. I won't be rushing to return.

Tasty, with a very good flavor and texture sausage patty (I'm picky). We had lattes, too: a hazelnut and a mocha. All delivered to our table by two pleasant ladies after we ordered at the counter. (On busy days, likely the customer picks up at least their beverages themselves.) The decor is exactly same as Press. Even the menu seems unchanged. While waffles are delicious, they aren't a thing I'd eat daily or even weekly (CARBS, oy) and for those with a preference for anything not a waffle, they'll be out of luck. I'd love the new owners to broaden the menu just a bit to offer a protein waffle, as well as maybe one or two non-waffle options (toasted breakfast sammich, veggie omelette or scramble).
