Called funeral home back was informed this time my husband was only one who could pick up ashes. Also informed death certificates were mailed on June 28. Double checked on death certificates they had wrote down address wrong. It's really sad that at a time when your grieving to have such incompetence in the funeral home you trusted to help you with your loved one does such a poor job. Shame on you. I went to Riplinger Funeral Services because they handled one of my parent's services 35 years ago, and the owners were very compassionate and caring. Unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience. I was under stress the entire time, because it turned out that they were working with another sibling behind my back, and I didn't find out that the other sibling had signed off on the document until after I paid the funeral home. They even had the audacity to call the life insurance company to find out who the beneficiary was at my sibling's request, creating a deeper fracture in an already fractured relationship. Riplinger certainly isn't the same family business it was 35 years ag.

After multiple phone calls, texts, emails, and a visit to the memorial gardens with a threat of going to the news media it was finally completed. TJ gave us multiple excuses why it was not done, such as no order was received, but he was paid. He sent us a photo of an empty envelope that the plate was sent in, saying UPS lost it. This plate was paid for within a few weeks of grandmas death. His service was less then desirable.

When we eventually got word of his passing, over a month later, we were all shocked. His son had been searching for him so he could meet his grandchildren for the first time. Sarah was a true blessing to us. My mother coordinated with her for my uncle's cremation and to have him sent home to us. Sarah was upfront about all of the costs, gave us options and helped us make an action plan. I will forever be grateful for Sarah's kindness and willingness to work with our family through all of us. There is customer service and then there is the care that Sarah showed. Death is a part of life and I only hope that other families can have someone with Sarah's heart to help them through their difficulties. Thank you for sending him home to us. You'll always be a postive imprint on our family.
