Without a second thought or calling around I went directly to English. The reason that I didn't call around is because my girlfriend's entire family had been going to them for generations and had glowing remarks. I soon found out that they were mistaken. As a 22 year old that had just lossed an immediate family member you'd think they'd be professional, or anyone who loses a loved one for that matter. I asked them to tell me before they cremated her. They said they would. They didn't and I had no idea that they had until a public worker told me when I applied for county assistance. Needles to say the same day I heard I immediately left work and drove down the the chapel in post falls where I had set up. I asked them why they hadn't tried the slightest communication and I was answered by " well sometimes these things happen. But you know, get over it." Said with a disgruntled tone and not even an apology. Fine, not a problem. I just won't ever recommend anyone to them. The real slap in the face came when they called asking for their money. I had initially set up a payment plan with them. With hospital bills, a house payment and the previous week taken off of work I couldn't afford to start paying everyone until my next check. I asked them if I could start paying in a month's time which they answered yes to. Low and behold not 3 weeks later I get a call from a receptionist at the CDA chapel's funeral home. She immediately has s tone and simply states that if I don't start making payments immediately the bill is going to collections. No " sorry for your loss," or even an " I know its tough to lose a loved one." Just simply pay up. Because of this business' complete and utter lack of professionalism, courtesy and basic human dignity they have lost the patronage of an entire family that is new to them and my girlfriend's entire family, a family that has been been around since the founding of coeur d alene and patrons of English since they first opened their doors.
