I'd be very cautious when visiting this mechanic, I can't speak for everyone's experience, but I had a very negative one. I purchased a used vehicle that was running perfectly, but wanted to be proactive and make sure everything was okay with the vehicle so I brought it here for a checkup. The mechanics gave me a laundry list of things that the car needed done. I unfortunately am not a huge car person so I trusted them and let them do the service (oil change, power steering fluid, etc) When I picked up the vehicle, the check engine light was on and the vehicle would not stay on when started. They ended up stating this was just a crazy coincidence! They looked at the car for another two hours (so they say) and threw in the towel unless I handed them close to $1000 just to figure out why the check engine light was on. Not even fix the problem, just diagnose it. Robbery!! They also don't call you back when they say they will and give you the run around. I am a female, not extremely knowledgeable in cars, but I do know when someone is trying to rip me off and take advantage. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received here and don't recommend anyone visiting this shop. They gave me back a car that now doesn't run properly and has a check engine light on. I will also be reporting this to the BBB. Please beware of this place, especially if you're a female or less knowledgeable when it comes to cars. read more

If i could give this place zero stars, I would. took an old vehicle in for a diagnosis for a running issues. they charged me 225.00 just for a diagnosis. ok whatever, just tell me whats wrong, right? wrong!#*%&#&#@. that gave me a list of repairs, 800.00 dollars of repairs. which i did and paid for only to get a call back to say what they did for 800.00 didnt fix the problem!!! so they wanted to charge me an addition 225.00 for yet another diagnosis!! wait?? what?? your diagnosis was wrong, so now you want me to pay for another diagnosis?? what if you're wrong again....and again, and again. so i picked up my vehicle and took it to another mechanic. this new mechanic new exactly what was wrong with the vehicle after looking at it for literally 5 mins. dont take any vehicle here, besides the crappy way of continuing to charge you for stuff that doesn't fix the problem, they are so so bad at getting back to you, as many other reviews have stated. read more

I brought my car in for an alternator replacement. I've driven the same make and model for years and they are notorious for bad alternators. When I told them that's what i was sure it was, they ran their diagnostics and told me it was just the battery. Trusting them, I agreed to have them replace the battery (for $300 which I think is far too high) and the very next day my battery dash light came on and my engine would shut off periodically while driving. So I brought it back a few days later and they ran their diagnostics again and guess what.... This time it was the alternator! I explained that that was the issue all along and was confused why that wasn't replaced to begin with and they said it was "just a coincidence". Then they wanted to charge me for "diagnosing" my car the 2nd time, 3 days after they failed to diagnose and fix the issue. Would not recommend, they overcharge and seem shady. read more

I recommend Engle Automotive. The staff was friendly. They were thorough in their investigation of the vibrating in my Sprinter based RV (dually). I believe we found the problem: bad tire. The next step is to replace the tire. They don't have the right size part for their balancing machine for my Sprinter wheels. So in order to diagnose they took the wheels and tires somewhere else and did not charge me since they couldn't do it on their machine. It took longer but I appreciate they did not charge me for that part of the diagnostic. Their waiting room is by far the most comfortable I've ever waited in. I have a Toyota 2006 4Runner V-8, which on its own is a great car. However, even the best of cars need periodic checks and maintenance from a Pro. I chose Engle because they were highly recommended by AAA and they have great customer reviews. Since it had been over 3 years since I had my 4R checked out, other than routine oil changes by Jiffy Lube, I thought it would be prudent to get a 13 year old auto a "well car: check up. I took my suv in for a shimmy in the front end. I did a lot of research and found a technical service bulletin that had all the characteristics that I was experiencing. I thought it would be helpful to them. Turns out, they didn't even look at the bulletin and it guided them step by step thru the process. They could not find the issue with in the hour and wanted to charge me an additional hour to continue "diagnosing". All I wanted them to do is follow the bulletin to its conclusion. So they charged me $160 and got nothing for it. They should not get paid for not finding the problem or not following directions. Compared to other shops I have dealt with they are very pricey. I wish I could give this company zero stars They have had my truck for about a month now and they have replaced the cooling system a month ago but i had to bring it back in for a fuel problem and they said the coolant system wasn't making the desired pressure even tho they had just replaced it. They charged us for new coolant for no reason. They requested a new power steering pump after they had just replaced it a month ago. This is ridiculous at this point. They find stuff that has nothing to do with the problem it's in the shop for even if they know it's good. They like to charge for stuff that shouldn't have been touched. They can't properly diagnose a vehicle they diagnosed my vehicle and threw parts and money at it before knowing it was the actual problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS SHOP!! read more

I'm from Southern California, had 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan transmission problems. We are on a family vacation so this was a huge, huge bummer. I brought it in first chance I had at the recommendation from a man at the local church I attended on Sunday. The biggest concern for me was to get the diagnostic of the transmission quickly so that I could make a somewhat informed decision of how to proceed with them vacation. I have used them on multiple occasions and have never been dissapointed with them. I have an old beater that I'm not ready to let go of and between them and me we keep it going until that fateful day. When they fix the car they alway have lots of notes of other things the van needs. That priceless to me, otherwise the van would be too expensive to keep on the road. read more

I have a 04' Subaru Forester that blew a radiator while traveling out to Denver from California. I broke down up the 34 and was towed to Engle Automotive. After our tow truck driver suggested it. They completly replaced the radiator along with preforming preventative maintenance by replacing a CV Axle with ripped boot, power steering fluid, and a break light. All within 24 hours. Which was amazing because I was planning on heading back to California the next day. They are a high end, extremely professional shop and do guarantee their work. I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone. The price seeming high, was reasonable and fair for the quality and professionalism. They could not finish the work that day and offered me a loaner car. I was shocked to see my previous car that had died as their loaner. Have had a poor past couple of experiences at Engle Automotive lately unfortunately. Brought my Forester for an oil change and asked to have them look at some rattling under the engine, they charged an extra $100 for just looking and told me my catalytic converter needed to be replaced, an additional $1700 job. Despite no check engine light or code indicating so. Took it to another mechanic who solved the cosmetic rattling for less than $100, catalytic converter is working just fine. They up sold me on purchasing a punch card for my and my wife's vehicles when I first started going there, now they conveniently don't recommend anything offered on the punch card or have to order common wiper blades or parts. They do decent work, but I feel like they are overpriced and try to up sell you on everything. They are also so "busy" that they don't allow you to schedule a basic oil change if you have to wait for the car. Was told they only let you drop the vehicle off, this was for an appointment 2 weeks out. I'm going to keep on looking around for a trustworthy and honest mechanic. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone. I called to get a quote for a front end alignment and told them what kind of truck I had. Theirs was the lowest price, they said it would take an hour or two, so I booked an appointment. An hour into the appointment I was told that the price of my alignment had just tripled from $67 to over $200 because it was so far out of spec. I reluctantly said to go ahead and then overheard them talking about how it would be another 3 and 1/2 hours. I allowed them to continue with 1 part of the alignment (toe), even though they had not even started, but refused the cam and caster because of the price, time, and I had to be at work. I got home and called to speak with Mark the owner but was told he was unavailable. Jesse then said that my one ton 1998 Chevy Silverado was too difficult to align for the quoted price due to some hard to reach nuts and bolts. I had reminded him that they knew of my model beforehand when I got the quote and set the appointment. He said there was nothing they could do because the price I was quoted wouldn't pay the labor for the technician and keep their lights on. Jesse proceeded to tell me that it was a "learning experience for them", even though they have been in business for decades. It was an expensive learning experience for me as well at $137 for one-third of a two tire alignment, and a tire rotation. Horrible business practice, just say no. Scott Simmons read more

Let's just say they are great salesman. But not mechanics. Took in my truck and was told I needed a new engine turbos and new injectors costing me over 15k. Was told a flat fee for diagnostics. But then was charged $15 a gallon of coolant without authorization. So 5 gallons was almost $100 with tax. Also told them to change my oil and it wasn't done so I payed them almost $500 to do nothing. Please be aware. My old mechanic from home called and spoke to their techs to find out what's going on he just game up and told me to go somewhere else they are incompetent. After all this back and forth. I ended up getting the truck fixed for 2k somewhere else. Now that's a big difference in price. Beware !!!! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The original reason I brought my car here was because AAA could only tow my car within 7 miles of our home. My car was having problems with a coolant leak so they agreed to fixing it once they figured out the problem. The manifold needed to be taken off to fix the original problem which they said would only take about a week. Two weeks later I get a call saying that while they were in there fixing my coolant problem, they caused a pressurizing issue which, in turn, damaged my timing belt. They then said that fixing that would take another week or so. So, I finally receive the call stating that my car is "finished," after three and a half weeks of them "repairing" it, and I go in to pick it up to find that they added an extra $300 on to the invoice for extra work that they didn't bother asking if they could do or not. Then they proceeded to tell my dad that I made up that they broke something and all of this work was caused from my car being severely neglected.(I just bought this car and the carfax was incredible.) To top it all off I got in my car to leave and the "service due soon" light came on and told me that now my headlights are damaged. All in all I will never return to this establishment nor will I recommended it to others. Their customer service and repair is absolutely ridiculous and awful. read more

This was most helpful since I am from out of state and couldn't get to it for a week. Sure wish they were closer to where I live so they could become my go to guys on car repairs. I took in my SUV for engine light on. The technician told me it was the #4 injector was bad and a spark plug was misfiring. Cost: $930. I took it for a second opinion who found it was a bad coil and also found the #4 injector had been left unplugged. Cost $270. I paid $145 to Engle Automotive for the WRONG diagnosis and would have paid nearly $1000 and it wouldn't have fixed my vehicle!! Will never go back and certainly won't recommend. read more

Excellent in service, knowledge and pricing. We had an issue with out 2000 chevy Taho, and for years I could not get a dealer or other small shops in loveland to tell us why we heard a knock in the lower bottom side of the engine block on this 5.3 liter Vorteck. Finally they worked their experience and flushed out the engine and it sounds like a champ. It was so important to us because we wanted to give this to our daughter on her 16th birthday and we heard from another mechanic that we needed to sell the suv or buy a new engine. The staff here is friendly and the work is done fast, however their labor prices are extremely high at 160.00 per hour. That's more than my husband charges for Professional consulting advice. I had 20k service and oil change done which cost 388.00!! 269.00 of that was "labor". Wow. They claimed it took 1.5 hours to change the cabin air filter for HVAC. I find that hard to believe. It's probably more like a half hour. We also had another vehicle serviced and they replaced rotors and brake pads. My son said the parts were about 500.00. The total cost was 1300.00 so we paid approx 800.00 in labor. Google says the average mechanic labor cost in Colorado is 80-100 per hour, so this shop is well above that. I have previously gone to dealership and they do not charge as much. I am not sure I will return unless they offer some kind of discount for multiple vehicles or some other incentive to offset the high labor prices. read more

Took my 2006 Chevy Silverado there because the engine light came on and I was having trouble with the A/C blower. They did the required diagnosis and replaced the parts they had to. I would not recommend Engle Automotive to anyone. I took in my '08 Subaru Impreza in July '16 to get an estimate as it was having issues overheating. I paid the $100 diagnostic fee in order to get Engle's "professional" estimate on the cause of the issue. They quoted $1,000 for a new radiator and told me I would get substantial additional mileage out of my car if I got this work done. I was hesitant to spend the money as I knew my car was getting old and thought it was likely time to purchase a new car. The various salesmen at Engle Automotive assured me that this was the issue and that if I went ahead with installation of a new radiator my car would be fixed and running again in no time. Reluctantly, I authorized the work per their recommendation. A few days after paying $1,100 for the repair work my car overheated in north Fort Collins. I paid to have it towed back to the shop to determine what the issue was. I was told it would take a day or two to diagnose the problem, no loaner car was offered in the interim thus I had to pay for a rental. After taking a look at my car, Engle confirmed that they had installed a faulty radiator. As this was their fault, they installed a new radiator at no additional charge. 1 week later my car again overheated on the side of the road. I again brought it in to Engle for a diagnosis. Turns out they didn't properly diagnose the issue the first time around and they quoted me an additional $3,000 worth of work to get the car up and running. This would have been fine if they would have communicated this up front; although as I thoroughly discussed my hesitations and doubt that $1,000 was enough to get my car up and running, you can imagine my disappointment. I requested that I be refunded for the $1,100 spent knowing that I paid for a diagnostic fee that did not properly diagnose the original issue. Engle refused to refund me for any portion of the payment, not even the incorrect diagnostic fee. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I was excited to support a local, small business, although unfortunately due to poor customer service and shady business practices I will not be back. read more
