My husband and I moved to the Hollister area about a year ago, and ever since, we've been eager to transform our backyard, which was just a patch of dirt when we arrived. As a first-time homeowner, I felt completely overwhelmed and unsure where to begin, especially when it came to choosing the right contractor. After getting some neighborhood recommendations for New Leaf, we decided to reach out. (Just to note, we had already reached out to several local contractors, but none gave us the confidence to move forward. We always had lingering doubts--whether it was about pricing, professionalism, or trustworthiness.) Javier, the owner, quickly arranged an in-person visit to check out our yard. He shared timelines, and pricing possibilities with us. He also collaborates with a landscape designer, Charlene Brum (www.brumlandscape.design.com). Working with Charlene was such a smooth and stress-free experience (everything I needed!). She created CAD plans to scale, which really eased my worries, confusion and all the unknown. Charlene was incredibly patient, clear in her communication, and so friendly. It honestly felt like talking to a friend who was just as excited as I was to help with my yard. Once the work started, there was no stopping the team! Javier has a fantastic crew that works hard and cohesively. Fernando, who led our project onsite, was very respectful and always took the time to make sure I understood his answers whenever I had questions. It was also heartwarming to see Fernando and crew mentoring a young adult on the team, teaching him about the trade and safety. My husband and I were consistently impressed with the daily progress, especially since some of my neighbors had shared less-than-ideal experiences with their own yard projects. I'm so relieved to say that our experience was nothing like that--ours was smooth! After about three weeks of hard work, the crew finished, and we absolutely love our new backyard and are excited to add our future shed and dog area. Our German Shepherd loves the evolved space too! I'm very happy we decided to go with his service! I will share that due to the recent rain the retaining wall leaned a bit. This was after the crew was done and services were paid for. I reached out to Noe to shared what had happen and he came back to fix the issue. To be honest most experience professionals can do this type of work but very few will comeback to fix minor or any issues at all, specially after they've been paid. Noe is a man of his word, he came back to make repairs and to make sure that we were happy as a customer! That may friends is worth Gold. It was such a great experience to work with Eddie. He was very patient and cordial to my needs and concerns. Learned a lot! After carefully reviewing their website we narrowed it down to two types of turf and got samples from Eddie. We went with 'Professional Play' for its perfect height and density designed to handle pets and frequent heavy traffic. To support this turf, Eddie recommended a French drain system to ensure the area could disperse a substantial amount of water so it wouldn't flood the area. Eddie and his team did a marvelous job.
