We have been going to Brian's Engine Dynamics for years. They have worked on our 2002 Sequioa, 2002 Corolla and now our 2017 Kia and 2018 Acadia. We stopped going to dealership maintenance service for years due to price gouging. Brian and his team is very honest and transparent with your car needs repairs. Our transmission was slipping on my daughter's VW and I asked Brian what his honest opinion is on fixing the car. He told me it was not worth fixing. Brian Clark is the shit. I needed to change my transmission fluid and called a bunch of places as I was passing through on my commute from norcal to socal. The weather was super gross and rainy and it was the end of a Friday but Brian was still willing to wait for me. I got caught in some Friday night traffic and came a half hour late, so I ended up just changing my oil. He also gave me a heads up to change my brake pads, which I really appreciate :) Prices are so reasonable too! His shop is tucked away, right next to the roundabout. read more

Engine Dynamics customer service and experience was beyond great. I recently took my 2017 Grand Cherokee to their shop and Jim took care of it for me. I had an issue with the air conditioning unit that many mechanic shops I took to could never figure out what was causing it not to cool. Brian and everyone at Engine Dynamics are wonderful. You won't get a better deal, or find a more honest, genuine person than Brian. Yesterday, I took my 2017 Toyota Corolla into a name brand auto repair shop, for a new tire, oil change, and to have my brakes looked at as well. I expected to spend between $500-700 with everything, but to my surprise, the grand total would have been around $1,200. I also brought my car in about an hour after they opened, and they told me it would be ready in a couple hours. About 6 hours later, I called to see when my car would be ready, and they hadn't even started!! I decided to ask around and see if anyone else thought the price they were charging me for front and back brakes were reasonable, as they seemed really high to me. Turns out, a lot of other people agreed that it was overpriced. 3 people highly recommend Engine Dynamics, and said that Brian was honest, kind and knowledgeable. They were right. I was put at ease right away when I walked in and heard Brian talking on the phone, and telling the person on the other end that how it would be cheaper to do something else. He wasn't begging for this person's business; he was looking out for them and getting them the best price. I showed him the estimate the other auto shop gave to me. At this point, the original shop had lowered the price, so it was closer to $965 for everything. Brian told me flat out that the front brake price that they gave me, was better than any price he could do. But when he looked at the price they gave me for the back breaks, he told me they were overcharging me. He explained why they were overcharging me, and gave me an exact price, which was hundreds less than the original price, and a few hundred less than the revised price. He also told me it would be ready before they closed, which was great news since it was already 2:30 by the time I brought it in. Less than 3 hours later, it was ready to go!! The mechanics did a phenomenal job, and my car is driving like a dream. I'm more than happy with the wonderful service I got, and Engine Dynamics has my business for life! read more

I came in with a smog problem. I dropped my car off before they opened. Brian saw me leaving my car and asked if I needed help. I planned on coming back when they opened, but he got me set up instead of eating his breakfast. He called me mid morning with an estimate of what it would cost and have me my options. He got the problem fixed and I feel he sincerely tried to keep the cost down for me. There was an extra part that was broken, but I expect things like that. I think these people complaining about the way they're treated are some typical Santa Clarita folks that just can't be pleased. I felt I was treated professionally by all employees here. I went to this place because of all the reviews saying how honest and reasonable this business is. I had to get an interior light assembly replaced on my car. Brian said the plastic was cracked and the light wouldn't turn off. I gave him plenty of time, dropped it off Saturday and he said it would be ready Wednesday. He charged me $242 for the part and $120 for labor to put the fixture in place. I was surprised at the cost and looked up the exact part number of the fixture that was listed on my bill for $242. You can get this exact part for $70-$123, depending on where you shop around. And $120 for installation? Not honest, not reasonable. read more

Called ahead of time to see if they were still doing smog checks. Brian told me to come right in. Drove up, Brian himself walked out, hooked up the computer to my rig and probably was done within 20 minutes. Comparable prices to every other place for a smog check but these guys have a full-on legit auto repair operation in addition. I'd much rather take my vehicle to a place that does it all. I been coming here for years, Brian seemed honest and affordable, but times have changed at this place. He recently quoted me $630 for a water pump and belt. That sounded very expensive. I shopped repairpal.com online and got the service done at another shop for $346 total. Not sure what happened here but it seems once they knew I trust them they started overcharging me for prices. Last two times I went there, the owner was rude to me. I look for a good and reliable customer service when I go to a mechanic and this place shift by the mood of the manager. He also kept getting annoyed by my accent or something because I felt that he didn't want me there. I also went after a leaking that started after I changed my cooling system and no further explanations were given. The mechanics are good but I personally can't deal with someone that looks at me with a weird intencional hate. When I picked my car the job wasn't even completely finished and they got angry at me as if it was my fault. read more

It's really hard to find a trustworthy mechanic when you are a woman--and mechanics who treat you like a dummy when you are a woman seem to be the norm. Not here. Honest, reliable, and very reasonable prices. I had to drive my brother's van 1200+ miles in an emergency situation, and the thing hadn't been driven in months. I brought the vehicle to Brian on a Saturday, and he spent the entire day checking everything out and making sure it was road worthy for me. They knew I was a single woman from out of town, and had to get the work done that day. They didn't take advantage of my vulnerable situation. Instead, they gave me a loaner car, kept in contact with me regarding all issues before proceeding with fixing them, and worked with me to find affordable solutions to make sure I got to my destination. These guys did a great job and were over the top on their customer service. My only regret is that I don't live close enough to use them in the future! These guys are so great. I got an emergency on the Highway 5,the tire pressure is lighting, my whole family include my little daughter were in the car, I am so nervous . I check the google map and Yelp,and drive my car to Engine Dynamics. Brian assign Rafael to handle it. After tire pressure checking, Rafael think it is no problem except low tire pressure because of cool weather. So easy, So quick, and Brian resist no charge, this is totally out of my expectations. Beware!!They wanted to charge me around $1200 for what I got done for $250. at another mechanic. I was referred by a friend. He was telling me that he had the same thing needed for his car. We have the same car. They only charged him $100. So I thought okay, I was skeptical because he also would tell me how he spent $1300 for a radiator fix. Something else where he spent a lot of money, I thought wow, that is a lot. So now I am thinking my friend has been getting jipped for years. These guys are not honest. The only nice thing was they left me with a loaner car. It had less than 1/2 a tank of gas. Before returning it, I put a little OVER 1/2 a tank back in. I told them I refilled it back up to where it was. I got a call the next day. They left a message saying, I thought I heard you say you filled the car up with gas. It was empty. We also don't like smoking in our cars. I really felt like calling them. I was already upset because they already charged me $60.00 for something AAMCO does for free. If they would have checked the car before they gave me the keys, they would have known it only had less than 1/2 a tank, they would have seen that someone left a cigar cutter and a vape in the car. It wasn't mine. From these reviews it looks like they pick and choose who they want to be honest with. My mechanic said there was only one code found. Engine Dynamics said there was 5. They typed 5. IT wasn't even printed out. I found a great honest mechanic in the Valley. read more

I initially spoke with Brian by phone on a Wednesday, and he informed me that he couldn't see my vehicle until Monday. This was fine except for the fact that he was very gruff, hurried me off the phone, and acted as if he couldn't care less. Monday comes around and he is exactly the same in person. I decide to let it go since it's a warranty issue with Napa and this is who they recommended. After holding on to my vehicle the whole day for a simple diagnosis, he tells me over the phone it's something else not related to the original repairs. I have somewhat of a mechanical background and I disagree since the leak is coming from the same exact part that was removed, repaired, sealed, and put back into place. Hmm, interesting huh? Did I mention that he always acted like he didn't want to deal with me and my warranty repair? In any event, I'm told I could get a second opinion. I say something to the effect of sure thing and leave it at that. When I arrive to pick up my vehicle, it's still up on the lift even thought I was told it was ready to go. At this point does Brian take any time to discuss or show me what he thinks the issue is? Nope, instead I'm subjected to 10 to 15 minutes of watching him bumble around as if he doesn't know how the lift works. Finally, he gets another guy and the two of them put my vehicle down. Keep in mind this was the end of the day and nothing else was going on. The last wonderful thing this guy does is slam my Jeep Wrangler hood down very hard. This was extremely unprofessional, and of course my hood prop no longer lines up properly. Has this joker ever worked on a JK, or does he just not care about customer property? Fair , Honest, Dependable, Brian has worked on my truck for years, all minor things and routine scheduled maintenance and services, but I have never had anything bad to say about him or his shop. TOTALLY FAIR on their price, and super sluth's at diagnosis of problems.. Usually good fair honest dependable are not words easily used to describe a mechanic, but his family has been doing it right for years.. and I hope years to come. I highly recommend this place, weekends are busy there so get in early or make an appointment. they can do it all, smog, engine swaps, trouble shoot, electrical, suspension brakes, from bumper to bumper they have you covered. trust these guys they know what they are doing and not out to rip someone off. there is passion in what they do.
