Had BMW water leak. They found and fixed it same day. So far, no further leaks. Feels like a good job. Polite, courteous, and quick conversations and repair. Across street from BMW dealer. read more

I've spent thousands of dollars at German High-Tech Mechanic Shop over the years on multiple repairs, so I'm not a first-time customer leaving a snap judgment review. Unfortunately, my recent experience really changed my perspective. Today I called because my brake light came on and I needed a quote for brake work. I was told it would cost $40 just to give me a quote. After the amount of money I've already spent there, that felt unreasonable and disappointing. In the past, I've also experienced small pricing inconsistencies -- being quoted one price, then when someone else picked up my car, the total was slightly higher. I'm not the type of person to complain over a few dollars, but it does add up and it doesn't feel good as a loyal customer. Today was the tipping point for me. Charging a fee just to provide a brake quote, especially for a repeat customer, feels like nickel-and-diming. I wanted to support a local shop, but based on my experiences, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a business that values transparency and long-term customer relationships. read more

The guys over there are nice enough, but they have some issues with their scheduling and appointment system that they need to clear up. I made an appointment, but was told when I arrived that they got slammed and couldn't work on it and that I had to come back another day. I had a daytime running headlight go out on my BMW, they wanted $180 to diagnose the issue. That's fine. in the past I had paid $100 for check engine light that would not go away. They could not find the issue, so it was just $100 wasted. This time, they said it was the headlight module and repaired it, for a total of $600. It still wasn't completely fixed, as it wasn't as bright as the other, but it was good enough. Over a few weeks it went out again. I brought it in for warranty work. They repaired it again and proceeded to tell me it was going to go out in a couple months, and that I needed a new headlight assembly. Here's the issue: I wanted the headlight fixed completely, and with an incorrect diagnostic, I'm out $600 and I have to pay an additional God knows how much for a complete new headlight assembly. It was just a waste of money. They are good with the oil changes and easier work, but if it's more specialized, consider other options. read more

I brought in my BMW for the first time for brake repair. Personally, I try to support local businesses as well as find a trusted mechanic as an alternative to the dealership. Serjik, the owner, was very transparent and performed the necessary work to my satisfaction. I would come here again for my maintenance needs and would recommend his service to others. read more

My car was shifting erratically. Two shops claimed there was nothing wrong and that my option would be to use the transmission till it dies, then replace it. "That's just the nature of older cars." After my car wouldn't accelerate from a stoplight, I knew there was something wrong. I went to German Hi Tech for a third opinion and I'm glad I did. They were able to fix the problem. Now my car shifts beautifully. Serj and the team put a lot of effort into finding out what's wrong. I appreciate that. I will be going to German Hi Tech for future car repairs. read more

rude, response, price quoted was 4 times higher than the average. Based on what? It's standard service to replace the alternator in a standard Merc. The process - loosening the belt, unscrewing 4 bolts on alternator under the engine clearly accessible, removing it, placing a new alternator by original manufacturer bought directly from them, screwing the 4 bolts, tightening the engine belt - 1 hour max, 30 min for an experienced tech. Wants $1,700 with own part when the most expensive part I bought directly from Merc without any repairs, but brand new is $400. Meaning wants $1,300 for half an hour work or $2,600 an hour WITHOUT original part, based on how they act clearly will force a garbage part - RIPOFF! read more

My family has been bringing their cars to Serj forever. I finally listened and I'm glad I did. Serj and Art run the most legit, transparent workflow I've seen. They kept me updated with inspection reports, worked to get me discounts, and even called to tell me my bill would be less than expected. As an engineer I understand how tricky these cars are to diagnose and they still manage to get it right for a fair price. Thanks again guys read more

Going to Eddie for years and after hearing about his retirement and selling his business, I took my car in for regular maintenance to give the new ownership a chance and came away really impressed with the level of service and detail that they provided. Melvin was great to work with, he kept me updated with what additional work was needed to include a breakdown of repair options and pricing which was more than fair. They even washed my car.... These guys are great. If you own a German vehicle, I highly recommend German Hi-Tech. read more

Literally the worst mechanic shop ever. There was a change of ownership, and in between that I discovered that the work I had paid over $2000 for was never actually done (fun). And the new owner Serj would not lift a finger to help me. I took matter to my own hands and took German Hi Tech to small claims court and won, but unsurprisingly they have yet to pay on their verdict. The owner Serj now has a bench warrant for his arrest and soon will have a sheriff posted at their business to collect, if that tells you enough about what type of person is running this business he does not pay his debts. Do not trust your car with them, seriously, take your car to a reputable shop instead and save yourself the headache. read more

It was time for repairs to my 2020 VW GLI. German Hi Tech provided an estimate for services and time frame for the effort. They delivered on-time and on-budget. As a customer they kept me informed of the progress and alerted me when the vehicle was complete. Melvin provided excellent customer service. I will use them again. read more

I have a BMW X3 2014 with over 213,000 miles. I have been using German Hi Tech for over 3 yrs and had excellent service! Since Melvin and Serg have taken over the business from Eddie it has been the same excellent service Eddie has given me! A few weeks ago I had a check engine light that kept lighting up. It took three trips to their shop and parts were replaced. It was a little vapor leak that was hard to detect. On the third trip, they sent it to the BMW dealer across the street and found the problem. They paid BMW for the diagnosis and did not charge me a dime! Great job guys! A customer for life! I recommended them to my neighbor who has a BMW 3 series and she also said they did a great job! Amel read more

German Hi Tech - Auto Repair Near Me - Valencia, California

See all

They ONLY work on BMW! Love this attention to this brand of vehicles. The shop is clean and organized.

I brought my car in for a regular maintenance on Friday. My husband and I were customer's of the previous owner, Eddie for many years and this is the first time I had been in to the shop since the new owners took over. I dealt with Melvin, the manager and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Melvin went out of his way to set up an appointment that worked with my schedule and had me in and out in a timely manner, plus he was extremely polite and courteous. The best part was that the price was fair and they didn't try to upsell me with something my car didn't need, like the dealership ALWAYS did. I will remain a loyal client of German Hi Tech! read more

Amazing service from Melvin. From phone call to consultation to final result, he's the reason I'm leaving a 5 star review. First he listened to all of my concerns, past history, etc very patiently and then evaluated the car. He also made sure I knew that even though the scanner said my brakes were at 10% in the front and 0% in the back, he manually verified this and found there was actually nothing wrong with the breaks. He made sure to be honest about the services I needed and gave a fair price. Also Melvin had killer communication from beginning to end - keeping me updated via text and phone call. I'll be coming back to this shop whenever I'm in SCV and will be asking for Melvin for sure! read more

If I could give this shop zero stars, then I definitely would. If you are a woman looking for a trusted mechanic, DO NOT COME HERE!! I came for an oil change on my diesel car, and the owner would not answer any of my questions about replacing the fluid in my DEF tank. Regardless, I let him perform the oil change on my car. The next morning I double-checked the oil, and found out that I barely had any oil in my car. So I rushed to the mechanic, and asked him for either my money back or for him to perform the oil change again (because I did not trust that he did it right the first time). Then THE OWNER PHYSICALLY & VERBALLY WAS AGGRESSIVE WITH ME AND STARTED THREATENING ME. He started scaring me with his aggression, because I was a women by myself in the shop with him. Overall the owner thought it was acceptable to be aggressive and say threatening things to me. In the end, I was so scared I just asked him to top off my oil and never got my refund or oil change performed. I lost $155 because I was threatened and bullied into leaving as soon as possible (without the proper reimbursement). read more

Just as some of the reviews below, I wish I can give 0 stars, or help in anyway to ask others to avoid this shop. I am a mechanic myself and respectfully assume that other mechanics/shops are willing to value human decency and quality work, rather than exploit helpless civilians who need help with their vehicles for daily use. In this case, German Hi Tech is not a shop that should be glorified in any way. My aunt brought me her car that had just came back from this shop; she was charged $2300+ in order for her A/C to be repaired, and it's not even close to being complete or even functioning. Parts that were listed and charged were well under $800, and the majority of the asking price was all towards their labor. The parts used obviously did not fix the A/C and initial issue, and were just replacements of needed items. I understand needing to replace some parts ALONG the way to the primary issue, but to fix little parts and not complete the actual job is less than professional (and I am a DIY ASE Mechanic). I ask, how can you charge good people $2300, for something you haven't successfully completed? Although I am not done with the job myself, I haven't spent more than $300 on other parts that needed replacements, and I haven't broke a sweat with my amateur tools and such. Bottomline, don't go to this shop. These guys seem to choose subjectively what they will put their actual efforts in (probably in accordance with how much someone's willing to pay, and note, $2300 for a 2007 vehicle repair almost defeats the entire car value already) Let's also add that they charged $3 for tire pressure check. Greedy. read more

Absolutely the best service in town for your high-end European import. From Audi to Porsche, these guys will give you the attention to detail and service you need to keep your car performing optimally. Why deal with the snobbery and overpriced service at the local Benz and Porsche dealer when you can be in and out at a local shop that earns your business? You can make appointments via text- and you'll get updates throughout the day. Ask for Melvin at the service counter - he'll take good care of you and your car. read more

I am leaving three stars because I truly feel bad for the owner and appreciated his effort. I brought my 535 in for basic service which included oil change, cabin filter change as well as spark plugs. When I got the car back the following day, I drove it home and broke down due to the engine misfiring. I bought the car about 2 months ago and I driven it for work to break it in, putting about three thousand plus miles on it with no issues whatsoever. I had driven it as far north as Santa Maria and out east to San Bernardino. I had the vehicle towed home and then brought it to the shop again the following day. Three weeks later, the problem with the engine and spark plug misfiring still wasn't fixed. I felt bad for the owner as I can see he was becoming very frustrated with his inability to repair the vehicle. I finally got the car back and it seemed to be running well in comfort and Echo mode but once in sport mode it began misfiring again. At that point, it did not make sense to bring it back as German high-tech as they could not fix the issue. I decided to take it to the dealer who diagnose the actual problem in one day and had it fixed. I've been driving it ever since in sport mode without any issues. I decided I cannot bring any of my cars back to this location, despite the owners effort. read more

Been bringing my SL 500 to Eddy for many years. They do a very thorough and competent job and they are very reasonably priced. Made my repairs so easy. Came in for a brake fluid flush and they did at a fair price and pointed out another issue that I really did need (Struts). Today I had thorough, competent service at German Hi Tech. Eddy was kind and easy to talk to. My spouse had made an appointment for me and they were ready to service my GLA with new spark plugs. I was happy to give him my business and I will continue to do so while I own this car. read more

I had a great experience with German HiTech and they provided impeccable service. I had a big issue with my GLA250 that projected to be very costly. The entire team thoroughly checked into the problem plus resolved the issue. They were diligent with communication and kept me in the loop during the investigative process. Nevertheless, this did not turn out to be as costly that was originally anticipated. Been here a few times with my BMW. Each time, the owner has taken care of me personally. I had an oil leak repair done that was previously estimated by a BMW dealer. German HiTech's price was lower than the dealer BY FAR. Score. Great service, fair prices, prompt service. Highly recommend. read more

I think one of the most difficult things to do in life is to find an honest mechanic who is also skilled at their job and charge a reasonable price. Well, I have found that rare combination here with Eddie. It is amazing how honest and how good they really are here. I'm given an honest evaluation. The work is done and my vehicle is always running great after I take it here for service. The prices are the best as well. I will never go anywhere else for my Mercedes repair or service. read more

I brought my 2009 VW GTI for the first time a couple months back and their work and service far exceeded my expectations. The work needed to be done on my car wasn't a small job, it was a full engine swap and the team over at German Hi Tech went through extensive research and testing to figure out the root of the issue prior to recommending any pointless fixes. When the issues with the engine were discovered, they recommended the swap, but offered it at a much more reasonable price than the dealer, who wanted to charge me at least $8-10k. Once the car was finished they kept it for testing to ensure I would receive my car in pristine condition. Of course when I picked it up, it drove as it did when I first took it off the lot in 2009. I highly recommend this shop to anyone needing work done on their car, small or large. Great job German High Tech!!! read more

Eddie is amazing. I was looking for a German car specialist in Valencia and this guy is it. Been here a couple of times. This last one was for the Check Engine Light on my GTI. He not only diagnosed the problem on my 7 year old car, but directed me to the dealer since they put out a report some time ago saying they would guarantee the problem up to 120k miles. He could've just charged me for the service ($700) and I wouldn't have been the wiser. I left my last mechanic of 15 years (in Venice) when they demanded I pay for their shoddy accident work to be redone after the insurance company had already paid for it. I intend to make German Hi Tech my go-to place for service. Thanks, Eddie. read more

I have been a long-standing customer of this establishment for many years. The integrity, honesty and respect this company and owner has is outstanding and unquestionable. I have never had a negative experience in any aspect of maintenance and repair of our vehicles. He is a subject and content matter expert in the field of automotive care. He is the only alternative to overinflated dealership service center pricing and I am thankful to have him in the Santa Clarita Valley. My wife and I trust the owners knowledge and skills and hold him in the highest regard and appreciate the time and effort he has spent maintaining our vehicles. We just had a B3 maintenance message come up on our Mercedes M350. I had researched extensively what the costs were associated with this kind of maintenance. I found this company to be priced way below dealership service center pricing. Everything associated with the work pertaining to the B3 maintenance was performed above standard and to our complete satisfaction. Thank you German High Tech for a job well done!!! read more
