In the past, the doctor really seemed to care if you were in pain or not. A year ago, I returned to…read morethis doctor regarding an implant he had previously done years before. The implant began to bleed upon cleaning, so the doctor related that he needed to lay the gum back so it could be cleaned. After the healing process was completed with the cleaning; a lot of the gum was missing from the implant and the metal could be seen from the implant. The tooth with a crown in front of the implant was also missing gum as well. When pointing this out to the doctor several times, he did send me to a gum specialist to have a gum tissue graft on the tooth with the crown in front of the implant. The specialist did not want to do anything to the gum around the implant. However, the implant was still without gum and metal was still showing. The gum stayed sore so he sent me back to the gum specialist who I went to before and he dismissed me and said no one could see it because the tooth was in the back. Because this would be a favor to the doctor, I do not think the specialist wanted to deal with it. To this day, the gum remains sore and I cannot eat on that side of my mouth. What once used to be a comfortable tooth to chew with and a nice appearing gum line is now gone and there is ugly metal showing and to fix it has been estimated at thousands of dollars. Sadly, I am left with this problem and will have to pay out of my own pocket to fix it or try to live with the pain. I e-mailed the doctor but never heard back from him.

I had some horribly painful new fillings from another dentist in town (*cough* hack job), and they were causing jaw discomfort. They were not smooth at all, and the fillings were too high, causing issues with my bite. I'd been back three times to have assorted messed-up fillings fixed, to no avail. Dr. Van Dyke's team was super sympathetic and found a small window of time for me the next morning. I came in with my nerves totally shot and feeling a little gaslit, like maybe I didn't actually have problems with my teeth, but I was imagining them at this point. Dr. Van Dyke sat me down, took a look and completely agreed with me. He took what little time he had and fixed my bite, and smoothed out another filling that was bothering me because it was left rough. He noted that the high filling he fixed had left one of my molars loose (!!!!!!!!!) and asked me to come back for a follow up a month later to see if it would "tighten up". All told, he made me feel better that I wasn't crazy AND he fixed the problem for me. I left feeling vindicated, much happier and more at peace with my mouth in general. His staff was so sweet, patient and kind and the office itself is nicely appointed. It's clean and quiet, which is very soothing. Many people fear the dentist, but Dr. Van Dyke is gentle and kind and I would recommend him to anyone. PS I went back a month later and the molar is fine now :)

His ego and bravado are of that if a narcissist, and he enjoys remarking about other patients, while you wait in him to finally attend to you while in the room. Not recommended as a great experience. So bad, my insurance referred me to another orthodontist, who performed extremely beyond measure. They were very honest and let me know it was actually something else and not my tooth, which I really appreciated. I ended up having a few visits for other things, including a cleaning, and every single time the staff was very nice and welcoming. I had Dr. Habib, who was absolutely phenomenal. He's very kind, efficient, and clearly knows his stuff, which made me feel really comfortable. The office itself is clean, modern, and has state-of-the-art equipment. There's also plenty of parking, which is always a plus. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the billing. A few times my insurance got mixed up, and while I was there, I noticed other patients coming in with billing concerns as well. To be fair, that could be more on the insurance side than the office, but it did cause some inconvenience. Overall, I would definitely recommend them and will continue going back!

After the local anesthesia was administered, I felt absolutely no pain. Dr Gracy walked me through the entire process, asking how I was doing, what she was doing to keep me informed during the procedure. Her interactions with her assistant were seamless, working together as one unit. Her receptionist is super and was very professional from her call the day before, to the time I walked into the office. From the time that I was seated to the time I was walking out the front door, was exactly an hour. Dr Gracy even made it a point to call me after hours to make sure everything was OK and whether I needed anything. I'm not a fan of the dentist because of the potential for pain. Dr Gracy changed all of that by her skill and compassion. If a root canal is in your future, seriously consider Dr Gracy, who has an office in Gainesville and Lake City. You won't regret it.

They fit me in the same day and my teeth now look better than ever! Honestly better than they did before my bonding fell off. I had my teeth cleaned a few weeks later and the hygienist is equally wonderful. She has a sweet nature and a deep understanding of dental hygiene. Dr. Cruz also did a thorough exam which included the mouth, teeth, jaw, gums, tissues, lymphnods, x-rays and what have you and I felt very confident I was being well cared for.
