I came here to have two teeth checked (to determine if I needed a root canal). I was told one was fine and another wasn't, even though I explained the symptoms (they said the pain was from one tooth, not the other). After the root canal, pain remained, so was sent back so they could double-check. He said it was fine, despite (again) my explaining the sensitivity and pain while chewing. Trusting his analysis, went forward with the treatment (crown without root canal). Less than a year later, *surprise* I need a root canal... I would go elsewhere or get a second opinion before complying with their recommendations. Also, beware of their billing practices. I have been seeing Dr. Mark Robinson for about 20 years. He is the absolute best. I have had several root canals done by him, and I would NEVER let anyone else do a root canal on me, ever. Although their services are a bit pricey, he's worth every penny. I have pretty bad dental anxiety and a long history of dental pain. I find him to be honest, also, and if he thinks you do not need a root canal, he will certainly tell you. I have left his office on more than one occasion after he told me a root canal was not indicated. His bedside manner is the best. I tell all my family and friends about him. If you have dental anxiety and are especially afraid of root canals, see Dr. Robinson. Once you have one done by him - you will never go elsewhere - guaranteed. He is excellent at what he does. I have also found their staff to be very friendly and professional, and they remember you by name. They do their best to get you in for emergencies, also. I saw Dr Mark Sahllal-Ayzin. A little behind, but I don't mind that. I was a patient at a different practice that ran out of time for my appt and I had to go home on antibiotics for a week and come back to finish my root canal. I would rather have a dr who will finish the job in one visit. The dr is very kind and gentle. Explains everything well. The easiest kind of dental work I've had done. A little pinch during the first injection, then nothing. There is a tiny trampoline (dental dam) that blocks everything from going down the throat but does not block breathing at all. I paid extra for nitrous gas. Didn't need a driver. Didn't really need the gas either, but I wanted to try it. I concentrated so much on 'in thru the nose, out thru the mouth' I didn't pay attention to what was going on in my mouth. That's how easy a root canal can be. read more

Dr. Gardner at Endodontic Associates was wonderful. He and his assistant Monika made me feel so comfortable and were able to put me at ease. Their bedside manner and their gentle non-condecending tones helped me relax and but the time I left I was completely relaxed. I would recommend anyone to go see him if you're in need of a root canal. If you call there and get a semi-rude, short mannered lady named Kathy; don't read into it too much because everyone else is so much better and nicer than her. So don't let your encounter with her ruin a great experience you will have once you see the doctor. read more

Ok I walked in to this office scared out of my mind and out of the office in complete amazement. I kept thinking that was it!! Dr. Robinson was AMAZING!! I was disappointed when my general dentist referred me here for a root canal (because I really trust him and didn't want to go somewhere else), but know I understand why! They are like fine tuned machines and they crank it out!! The only thing that was a little off-putting was the receptionist both when I called on the phone and when I arrived at the office I was very concerned about the kind of medication they would be giving me as I have some that I am allergic to, and I kind of felt like she thought I was being a baby and not listening to my question! But it was more than made up for with the wonderfully, efficient and almost painless service! I must mention that even though it was quick Dr. Robinson never felt rushed, explained what he doing and made sure to ask me if I had any questions before I left. Hopefully I won;t need another root canal, but If i did I would go to these guys again in a heart beat! read more

Just went to this Endodontist today (Dr. Mark Robinson in particular) to get a root canal done. This is as good as it gets! The staff was friendly, the initial consult was good, and Dr. Robison was very relaxing as he walked through the procedure step by step while he worked. Saw Dr. Robinson for (my first ever) root canal today. First off, the office is very easy to get to, parking was a breeze, and the space was clean, organized, and had a very pleasant, cheerful and helpful staff! I was very nervous about the procedure, as my tooth had been causing me a great deal of pain and the filling experience, prior to seeing Dr. Robinson, was not pleasant. Dr. Robinson assured me I would not be feeling any pain today and he was right! The whole process was a breeze. He talked me through everything he was doing, which really helped to calm my nerves. He even showed me my Xrays once he was done and explained everything he did. He was also quite funny and talkative, which made the ~45 minute procedure MUCH more tolerable/less scary/less boring. I was pretty put off by how one of the receptionists was over the phone. They don't have very helpful hours for people with day jobs. When I went in, the prices were so high that I was spooked so I walked out. I am going to the University of Michigan Dental School instead because I can't afford $1500 for a re-done root canal. read more

I was treated in the Union Lake Commerce office. While the care was wonderful by Dr. Chimelak, the billing practices of the office staff are bordering on unethical. I was quoted an out of pocket cost for my services, which I brought to the appointment. 1-2 months later I was sent an additional bill. When I called to question it, the Office Manager explained my insurance was in fact NOT run and thus the fee for service did not include an extra $140 to the +$600 I paid. When I asked how this occurred, the first excuse was the person "no longer works here" and with further questioning she admitted they in fact have no processes or procedures set up to verify insurance and so the quote they give you can always be wrong. After having conversations about this, I was told it would be "discussed with the doctor" and she would call me back. Never got a call, just a collection agency letter. Thus, they provide you with the wrong price, you get the work done, then they send you additional bills, and send you to a credit agency. So, you can get your work done here, for prices unknown. A prime example of what is wrong with the entire healthcare industry. Poor processes, who care attitudes with the power to affect your credit. read more

I had to have a root canal done and my dentist referred me here. Dr. Evans was great, she is a Michigan "lifer" and has done all her training at UM, so you know she has excellent credentials. She was very straight to the point and informative, she told me everything I needed to know and the procedure was quick and painless. She did a great job and got me in and out in about an hour. She doesn't mess around chatting about the weather, which I personally appreciate because I want to spend as little time as possible in the dentist chair! Dr. Robinson is fantastic. He's very nice and clearly explains the procedures which I appreciated. I can't say the same thing for the receptionist, She was an older lady and she was frustrated I think because I was paying out of pocket and split the cost into two different cards. She literally throw the card back at the counter to me, visibly frustrated. Not everybody has good health insurance and it's not a crime. read more

Really expensive as apparently are all root canals, but Dr Evans was great. I'd never had a root canal before and she went through everything step by step. The local anesthetic was not as effective on my as it should have been when she started drilling and she recognized the facial expressions immediately and remedied the problem. She said that making sure I don't feel a thing is most important. I was really swollen last night but this morning it doesn't seem to be painful to a major point. It's at tolerable level. It just itches inside more than anything. The whole thing took 2 hours and she was really good at making sure I'd be as comfortable as possible and explaining everything she was doing. The only thing that really stunk is I had xrays sent because I just had a full digital set done and I wanted to cut cost. They did more again anyway. I get they need some for during and after the work, but j was hoping to drastically reduce the views and that didn't happen. But I really liked Dr Evans and for my first root canal experience, she made it pretty easy. read more
