Uncaring, unprofessional, this practice has some trust issues and treat their patients poorly. You're fired, Dr. Moosa. When the honeymoon is over, you will realize they don't care, including Dr. Moosa. So I wrote a letter directly to Dr. Moosa regarding the poor taste and behavior that his staff exhibited. I was called by Ann today, who is in charge of billing. She stated that Dr. Moosa decided to discharge me from the practice over a bill that had accumulated when my mother was sick and dying, after I had surgery that left me completely blind for two weeks, a month after my mother passed away, my 87-year-old father-in-law had to have open surgery and was traveling back-and-forth to Ohio to help with this care. The bill was sent to collections at the drop of a hat, I always paid on time, and was callously told by the billing depart "that is your problem". Ann did not apologize, w/zero empathy. I was told that I was discharged from the practice until I paid the debt collector; I just wanted to come to the office and pay the $78, as I had already been through enough without having to also deal with a debt collector. Jen from billing then told me I could get a refill, but only if I paid the debt collector, which was unlawful coercion. I sent Dr. Moosa a letter with everything in it, and apparently, nothing was so outrageous or shocking to him so as to change anything at the practice, but rather make the decision to discharge me as a patient instead. That told me everything I needed to know about his practice, him as a physician, and him as a person. Unprofessional, substandard care. And then was the outright false statement Jen made to me, saying that the practice's contract with the debt collector did not allow them to take payment at the office. When I called the debt collector, Susan explained that she has been working there for about 30 years, and knew for fact this was not the case, that the practice could accept payments. To me, when anybody at a medical practice makes a false statement, I am done with them, because it is violative of the patient/client/doctor trust that should be present at any practice. Dr. Moosa, you're fired. There were so many times when I was being examined, that he asked "what I wanted to do", rather than explaining what the choices were medically, and acting in the patients best interest, as if he did not even know the difference. I'm really thinking twice now about some of the conversations which he had with Hopefully, this review prevents anyone else having to go through the agony of dealing with these people that I have gone through. If you go there, on your first appointment you'll be treated pretty well and they'll be very friendly, but when the honeymoon is over, you'll be thinking the same things I am saying here. I see a lot of people who say this was my first appointment there and the staff are wonderful. Give it time. When the honeymoon is over, you will realize they don't care. Dr. Moussa. trailer trash as his office staff. They do not know what they are doing. I was sent a notice from debt collector to call them and pay $78, so I called the office. I let them know that in the past couple of months, my mother passed away, and that my father-in-law, 87 had open surgery and almost passed away as well. In amongst all of this, I had eye surgery and was physically blind for two weeks, and this was the time the office was trying to collect a bill. I asked why in the previous appointments I was there, why didn't they tell me? I had a balance because I would've just paid it on the spot. I said I could just come in and pay the money then The lady became argumentative with me, and told me that they would not accept the money, and I had to call the bill collector to pay it. She also stated that they canceled my next appointment, and discharged me from the practice. When I reiterated to her, what had happened including the death of my mother, she said "it's not my problem", which I cannot believe she even said as it was without any class were empathy whatsoever. Trailer park trash. Dr. Moussa is not a bad Endocrinologist, but you have to deal with front office that never knows what's going on, and act very confrontational like you bothering them or something when you even go ask them a question. Moosa Dr. Moosa is incredibly unprofessional and rude. He does not know how to manage thyroid treatment for individuals with complex medical conditions. After my last appointment one month ago I thought the plan was to bump my thyroid medication back up after the previous reductions of my medications had resulted in my T3 and T4 levels dropping down with no movement in my TSH. I was told this indicated that I had central hypothyroidism. My symptoms had gotten so severe with the latest reduction that I was struggling to function. The medication increase from last month had helped my symptoms a bit so I was looking forward to another increase in medication today as planned. Today Dr. Moosa came into the room and appeared to be in an agitated state. He didn't appear to review or recall any of my history, did not appear to look at my chart or labs, and said he would have to reduce my thyroid medications all the way down to see if my TSH would come up or not in order to verify central hypothyroidism. When I tried to ask a question about the diagnosis and plan from my previous visit Dr. Moosa became angry, told me good luck and to find another doctor. He walked out of the room, and would not answer any of my questions or explain what was going on. It appears that Dr. Moosa has an unmanaged anger problem or is mentally unstable in some respect. It is disturbing to witness this behavior and his blatant disrespect of patients. The office already had took my payment of $120.00 for an office visit charge and would not refund it. I felt this was wrong because I did not get an office visit. What I got was yelled at and discharged in under 2 minutes. He would have been better off to send me a letter and tell me to find another doctor. The office has long wait times and a sign in their office warns patients that an appointment may take 2 hours or more. They want you coming back all the time for virtually nothing which seems like a money grab. They have no consideration for patients who have demanding work schedules and other commitments. I do not recommend this physician or office whatsoever. read more

horrible horrible human being cursed me out in his language when I was speaking to him in Arabic because I asked for diabetic medication yelled at me all because I asked him to help me with finding a new diabetic medicine because my insurance wouldn't approve I don't recommend you go to this guy. Just had my second appointment here and dealt with some issues. 1. I waited 55 minutes to speak with someone for 5 minutes and I understand that this is a Dr. office and often and in general, "customer service" is not prioritized and the Doctors and Practitioners can be quite busy, so this want a big deal. 2. The experience was quite impersonal. I felt like a burden to be seen and any question I had seemed "inconvenient" to who I was speaking with at the end of the appointment. My appointment was at 3 and it was the end of the day but having diabetes is hard enough let alone have left feeling, again, like an inconvenience. 3. This is really the only issue that I had with the appointment and what brought my frustrations to surface with 1 and 2. I am trying extremely hard to get a Dexcom G6 to BETTER my health and I was told to wait to sign paperwork (MY SIGNATURE) for the insurance application. I was given release paperwork by a young, heavy set, African American nurse or maybe secretary, and I was worried that the application was not there to sign as I was very clearly instructed to do so. I am not a physician and this is not my area of expertise or comfort, so I have anxiety at appointments, so to here that young lady call me a "stupid mother f***ker" either under her breath or to an associate was really disheartening. Going to the doctor is stressful enough, and as if it isn't hard enough to restrict my diet, stick needles inside my body, and worry about additional health problems (not to mention mental stress and strain), and at the end overhear someone insulting me for being nervous that there may have been a mistake, absolutely sucked. I don't have another option in Toledo, OH covered by my insurance, so I really don't have much of a choice, but I surely hope that this office recognizes that this type of behavior is absolutely unacceptable by a healthcare professional as I hope they also understand how defeating others was to hear someone say that. Coming from a 31y/o grown man... it really sucked. Everything else here was awesome and I feel most, if not all, of the employees really do enjoy helping people feel better and do better with the exception of the one employee who really put me in an uncomfortable position and took away my peace of mind at my endocrinologist office. read more

My Mom's appointment was at 1pm. She still was not seen by 2pm. She decided to leave and the staff acted surprised, said there were only 2 patients ahead of her. She came out to my car (I drove her) and she said, "Never again! I am not going back to him." Be aware, the first time you go for an appointment, they are very nice and accommodating. After that I really don't think they care. If there was a negative star, I would give that. read more

I see one of dr. Moosa's associates that work with him in the spring valley office. She is a very good listener and answers all of my questions I have. I love our discussions on ways for me to feel better. She seems to always put me in a positive mood when I leave. I hope with her help that I can overcome this problem I have. My mother was a patient of Dr. Moosa until today. I went with my mother (who had her cancerous thyroid, parathyroid and 6 lymph nodes removed) to see this "Doctor" today. My mom has been devastatingly ill for nearly 2 weeks now, we had seen him since the beginning of her symptoms and then again today. Today he basically told my mom that he didn't know what was wrong with her and that she could go see a different doctor, simply because she asked a question. We have dealt with doctors dismissing my mothers condition and we no longer will be pushed to the side, so we were steadfast with our inquisitions. He continued to be rude to the point of bringing her to tears. I took over the conversation and explained that she just was asking a question because she is very sick and that he was not responding very professionally. He said " I can increase her meds, thats all i can do. Have a merry christmas". After he abruptly walked out of the room, I followed him into the check out area and told him that i appreciate his advice but the way he conducted himself was extremely unprofessional and that his bed side manor needs significant improvement. He replied with, " I will work on that while you work on finding a new doctor". Legally, he cannot simply drop my mother but that is neither here nor there. I told him that is probably for the best and we will look elsewhere. I spoke with a Physician named Nicole shortly after who was very kind and helpful, she clearly cared. The same cannot be said for her cohort. I have never seen something so disgusting in my life, i cannot imagine someone who swore an oath as a medical professional would treat their patient with such contempt. Even more disturbing is the fact that he could so readily admit to his patient that he has no idea how to help her and is just going to increase her medications, i wasn't aware that instead of doing testing we just tinker with medications until something happens. Extremely, disappointing and unsettling for me and my mother, we certainly will never visit him again. read more
