Uncaring, unprofessional, this practice has some trust issues and treat their patients poorly…read more You're fired, Dr. Moosa. When the honeymoon is over, you will realize they don't care, including Dr. Moosa. So I wrote a letter directly to Dr. Moosa regarding the poor taste and behavior that his staff exhibited. I was called by Ann today, who is in charge of billing. She stated that Dr. Moosa decided to discharge me from the practice over a bill that had accumulated when my mother was sick and dying, after I had surgery that left me completely blind for two weeks, a month after my mother passed away, my 87-year-old father-in-law had to have open surgery and was traveling back-and-forth to Ohio to help with this care. The bill was sent to collections at the drop of a hat, I always paid on time, and was callously told by the billing depart "that is your problem". Ann did not apologize, w/zero empathy. I was told that I was discharged from the practice until I paid the debt collector; I just wanted to come to the office and pay the $78, as I had already been through enough without having to also deal with a debt collector. Jen from billing then told me I could get a refill, but only if I paid the debt collector, which was unlawful coercion. I sent Dr. Moosa a letter with everything in it, and apparently, nothing was so outrageous or shocking to him so as to change anything at the practice, but rather make the decision to discharge me as a patient instead. That told me everything I needed to know about his practice, him as a physician, and him as a person. Unprofessional, substandard care. And then was the outright false statement Jen made to me, saying that the practice's contract with the debt collector did not allow them to take payment at the office. When I called the debt collector, Susan explained that she has been working there for about 30 years, and knew for fact this was not the case, that the practice could accept payments. To me, when anybody at a medical practice makes a false statement, I am done with them, because it is violative of the patient/client/doctor trust that should be present at any practice. Dr. Moosa, you're fired. There were so many times when I was being examined, that he asked "what I wanted to do", rather than explaining what the choices were medically, and acting in the patients best interest, as if he did not even know the difference. I'm really thinking twice now about some of the conversations which he had with Hopefully, this review prevents anyone else having to go through the agony of dealing with these people that I have gone through. If you go there, on your first appointment you'll be treated pretty well and they'll be very friendly, but when the honeymoon is over, you'll be thinking the same things I am saying here. Good luck to you is all I can say. Lol You're fired Dr. Moosa, both you and your office staff failed miserably, and reported this practice to the State Medical Board. I see a lot of people who say this was my first appointment there and the staff are wonderful. Give it time. When the honeymoon is over, you will realize they don't care. There is much better care to be had at Downriver endocrinology in Woodhaven, Michigan. My recommendation is that you go there instead.

FRAUD! This place Dr. Lawrence practices at should be called "The Endocrine Learing Center". First…read moreyou will only speak to the actual Dr. on your 1st visit, every time following that you will only speak with their "assistant". The assistants are good, but seem to be over worked because they NEVER follow up on anything they discuss with you. You will have to continuously call back to request for follow up on the things you discussed with them. I went in for an insulin pump on my 1st visit and gave up after a year of seeing no progress. I went to my PCP instead and had a pump within a month. You will also have to wait at least 6 months to get an appointment to speak with these "assistants". Here's the straw that finally broke the camel's back for me. I had a heart attack and while in the hospital one of the Doctors from this fraudulent office stopped into my room each day. They looked at my blood pressure and said, "Your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later to discuss your diabetes with you." They never stopped back later to discuss my diabetes but came back the very next day with the exact same story..."your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later." When I reviewed my hospital billing, those visits where they stopped in to tell me my blood pressure looked good were billed as "Endocrine Specialist Diabetes Counselling". This is obviously insurance fraud and likely the reason you can never see the actual Doctor at your office visits. The Doctors are too busy scanning the patient logs at the hospitals to see who has diabetes so they can make these 5 minute blood pressure comment visits and charge them as diabetes specialist counselling visitations while they have hired assistants acting as Doctors at their office. Don't just walk, but RUN away from this fraud of a Doctor!

She is thorough without being judgmental and offers a fresh, thoughtful approach to treatment. She listens and never interrupts and truly is caring and attentive. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about new treatment options, is updated and well-read on many health issues that concern her patients. I'm not sure how she has time to read every study, blind trial, and medical journal out there, but she has! It might take awhile to get an appointment, but that just speaks to her popularity as more patients find her and love her.

However I spent almost two years here and I realized that the doctor never really cared outside the lab results. You could be .01 in the safe zone and that was good for them. For a thyroid I think there needs to be more follow-up questions about how your symptoms are.

I went to Dr. Khoury for a few years. He was good as far as diagnosing but I ALWAYS had to wait…read morefor an hour (one time longer) for my appointments. They act like his time is the only one valuable not the people that pay to see him. Also I had changed insurance and let them know right away but they didn't address it in a timely fashion and I ended up having to leave without even seeing him (after waiting 1.5 hours). That was the last straw. I wasted over an hour, my doctor's office was accommodating trying to send what they asked for and they still couldn't get it together. I left and never went back. My PCP has been monitoring my numbers and they have held steady so I don't need him. Even if I need to see another specialist she promised to find me a new doctor. He was good but kind of cocky and felt like he was superior and knew everything. That combined with the long waits just turned me off. I refuse to ever go there again even if I need to drive an hour away for a new specialist. I blame his staff more than the doc. Maybe things have changed. I went there for years and it was the same crap though. I would be surprised if anything is different. They need to learn how to better schedule people and realize who the customer is and who pays the bills.
