But after a year, ground squirrels started to dig up our turf between us and our neighbors, and lift and ruin one of our dividers. We called up Miguel to see what he could do. Miguel was quick to respond and communicative, set up a time to give an assessment, and then set up a time to come do the work within a week. Miguel and his team ended up putting extra barriers under our fence to prevent the digging; this was the biggest effort/labor. There is a significant difference between asking an irrigation professional to diagnose a problem and accusing him of causing it. Second, bringing up the distance between Morgan Hill and Livermore is irrelevant. His response makes it sound as though traveling to my property was somehow a favor to me. He chose to accept the job. I did not force him to take the work or make the drive. In fact, he had previously performed approximately $2,000 worth of work at this exact same property, so he was fully aware of the location when he accepted this job. Unfortunately, his work this time has caused me more trouble and expense, not less. He acknowledges that he decided my existing micro-sprinklers were unnecessary so he cut them on his own will. I did not authorize him to cut and remove numerous components of my irrigation system. Whether he believed they were old, defective, or unnecessary is beside the point. That should have been discussed with me before anything was removed. I am the homeowner and should have been given the choice regarding what was removed from my property. I am still completely baffled that a professional would cut and remove parts of a customer's existing irrigation system without first obtaining permission. His communication afterward has been equally disappointing- just as you can clearly see from his response. I contacted him directly about these concerns before posting my review. My message showed as read immediately, and I have a screenshot documenting it. He did not respond until after I posted my review. He had also previously told me in person that business was very slow, yet after the review was posted, his explanation for not responding was that he was extremely busy with a large project. I am still a paying customer. What makes my job any less especially when you say your business is very slow right now. Did he forget I have cameras all over my house? Given his response, his unwillingness to acknowledge my actual concern, and the way he has handled a legitimate customer complaint, I no longer feel comfortable allowing him to return to work on my irrigation system. I originally requested a refund of the $185 I paid but he's clearly not worth it. I have contacted another company to fix all the work he has done incorrectly. My experience with him has been that he is pleasant and accommodating when securing the work and payment, but when I subsequently raised concerns about that work, communication became extremely difficult and defensive. Based on my experience, I found his customer service, communication, and handling of this situation highly unprofessional and rude. Original Post: I've had two experiences with the owner, and unfortunately I would not recommend his services. The first time, I felt I was overcharged for the work performed. However, he assured me that if I had any issues afterward, I could contact him and he would come back and take care of them. Based on that assurance, I gave him another chance. When I actually needed an issue addressed, his attitude completely changed. Instead of standing behind what he had previously told me, he was dismissive and unwilling to help without charging me again. The second time, I paid for five sprinklers to be repaired and for maintenance of the rest of the system. He said he would thoroughly clean them because water builds up and they don't spray as they should after a while. I was there while the work was being done. The five sprinklers essentially had their top heads changed, and I did NOT see the maintenance performed that I was charged for. When I went over all the heads, I can see he didn't address them and told me to rotate them. The worst part, he cut several sprinkler lines around my trees without asking me first. He told me it sprays better like that. I was in total shock that someone thinks they can cut off sprinklers without discussing first. He put a pile of them on the side and showed me all the cut lines. After his work, one sprinkler is now shooting water extremely high, and the pressure in my system seems to be off after adjustments were made at the main control. I contacted him explaining these issues. He read my message and did not respond. He is a dishonest person and will overcharge giving you a random number without structured pricing. Beyond the workmanship and pricing, his attitude when there is a problem is extremely disappointing. It's easy to say you'll stand behind your work when collecting payment, but my experience was very different when I actually asked him to address a problem. After paying him twice, dealing with unresolved issues, and receiving this type of customer service, I will not use him again and would not recommend him to any homeowner or business.

So we decided to finally put the finishing touches to our front yard. We put out the feelers on Sunday night at 8:30 pm, not expecting to get a reply until Monday morning, but Jacob from Verdigrass responded within 10 minutes! I, along with the wife was impressed by the quick response so we scheduled an estimate with Jacob for Wednesday. Jacob was very accommodating with my work schedule and actually came to my house by 8:00 am. Since Jacob was coming from Vallejo, I knew it was a long distance and he would have to leave very early in the morning, so again, we were impressed. My meeting with Jacob went very well. Since this was my first experience with artificial turf, I had a bunch of questions, which Jacob answered fully. It was also very helpful that he had several samples that I could see and feel. After getting my quote, which came in much lower than another company. We decided to go with Verdigrass due to the experience we had thus far with Jacob. Communication with Jacob was stellar, and he was able to schedule the job for Saturday morning. The material was dropped off on Friday, and Jacob's crew, headed by Juan, arrived at 0730 am, a half hour earlier than the 0800 am start Jacob had mentioned. The crew was efficient and highly knowledgeable and had the job done in approximately 5.5 hours! We could not be happier with our experience with Jacob, Juan and Verdigrass. Various tree roots were causing the ground to be uneven especially in the driveway. We evaluated four contractors in various categories: cost, warranty, Diamond certification, which certifications did the contractor have for this type of work, how long has the company been in business, google and yelp review ratings, use of subcontractors, licensed, could they provide a list of previous work performed in our area so we could examine their work quality, how did the sales person respond to our questions and respond to ideas, and do they leave some extra pavers. There are a lot of things to consider when hiring a paver contractor and what do you get compared to the cost you will pay for their service. All of this information was compared. Unique Pavers came out on top and we are happy with the result. They completed the work efficiently, professionally, and created a beautiful driveway and walkway even into the corners. Being in a court, our property didn't run at 90 degree angles so a bit more ingenuity was needed to make the edges look neat. The team of Bill Goff (senior design consultant), Dan Burnham (senior project manager), William (foreman), and the team of Carlos and David, with a few other workers at the end, successfully completed our project on time and within budget. We discussed ideas with Bill and Rick Telly (the owner) came back with updated quotes as we finalized what would be installed. A group chat was setup with us, Rick, Dan, and Bill, so any issues could be communicated quickly. Dan was always professional, was very quick in his text responses, and stopped by once a day to check on the progress and allow us to discuss any issues. The experienced team of William, Carlos, and David worked very hard each day, were efficient, and knew what to do. The workers were all professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. They completely transformed our backyard to include two patios surrounding a putting green, a low wall, pathways, and new landscaping with fruit trees and a hedge with drip irrigation. An extensive drainage system included french drains, area drains, and tying the downspouts directly into drains. This was important because water would pool in our backyard after heavy rains. We had high expectations because we knew what Unique Pavers did for our driveway and front yard, and they did not disappoint! Rick has amazing vision when it comes to designing spaces. Dan is a great project manager who was onsite nearly every day and has excellent communication skills. And the hardscape and landscape crews really know how to execute; they worked hard and worked together well. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate our detailed requests, moving a favorite plant, and waiting for a smart lighting controller to be shipped.
