First experience having a facial and it was AMAZING!…read more The booking process was super easy, I messaged them on Instagram (I was referred by a friend), and I got an appointment within 2 weeks. I received a confirmation email, and a COVID-19 questionnaire via email as well. Lots of parking too, it's located in a little plaza in Richmond. I didn't know what to expect since it was my very first time getting a facial, and I was immediately impressed by the interior/decor at the front desk reception area when I walked in. It's very modern/earthy/chic (eg. white walls, natural plants)- and definitely feels very calming and relaxing. I booked my appointment with Lisa Liang for a La Cachette Signature Facial, and she was very sweet and patient as she walked me through what to expect. Bonus: The washroom are gorgeously decorated as well, and very very clean. The facial lasts a full 1 hour and 15mins or so. The rooms have soft ambient music playing, and the heavy sheets are super super comfortable - you could easily take a nap! I'm not well versed in their products, but various cleansers, exfoliant and peels are gently massaged into my face. Mines ended with a cold jelly mask thing. They use a lot of G.M. Collin skincare products (I also got 2 samples on my way out). My favourite part was starting and ending with a deep breathing exercise with essential oils, and also a little face/head massage at the end. The La Cachette Signature Facial regular price is $135, but I went for a limited time 50% off promo. Overall, it was a very pleasant & relaxing experience. Service was great, and the place was very clean. Highly recommend this place (and Lisa of course!).

When I get there, she starts the process and tells me my skin is bad. I know it's bad so it doesn't really bother me. This is not the type of establishment for a relaxing day. I already knew that when I messaged her. Anyway, the facial goes on, she puts a thick layer of mask on my face and leaves the room. I'm in the room by myself for at least 15 mins. My purse was placed in the room. I was tempted to wipe off the contents off my eyes just to check if my purse was still there. She then comes back into the room and continues with the rest of the facial. She then tells me if I wore looser clothing, she would be able to massage my shoulders. I wasn't told to wear something specific prior to the appointment. And it's winter, so of course I'm wearing a sweater. But she makes it seem like it's my fault. At the end she tells me she has done wonders to my skin. She then tells me I would benefit from the products she used. I politely decline and told her, I'll think about it. She aggressively tells me I don't need to think about it because it's good for my skin. I ignore her. She then tells me the facial she completed for me was not the one I picked. And that I owe her $90. She then tells me if I buy a package to go and see her 10 more times, it'll be $70. No thanks. I tell her that's not what I was quoted. She then reiterated that my skin was so bad and that she had to do it. I didn't want to argue with her any longer. I paid her $90. She counted the 4 twenties and 1 ten dollar bill right in front of me. She even had the audacity to look appalled that I didn't tip her. She's very blunt. And will charge you higher than her initial quote. Do yourselves a favour and pick another establishment. You're welcome

My Silkpeel facial was done by Michelle whom was so knowledgeable and kind during the service. She performed a double cleanse, 20% glycolic peel, Extractions, the Silk peel machine (first pass with Salicylic acid to extract and second pass she infused my skin with Vitamin C), soothing masque treatment and finished with a moisturizer, eye cream and lip balm. The silkpeel felt like a wet microdermabrasion in case anyone was wondering. I personally really enjoyed the service but would come in a quarterly basis rather than monthly. Their very generous with their samples so I do recommend stopping by if you're curious with Skinceutical products. They also offer water and chocolates in the room in case you need that little sugar pick me up. The mall noise didn't really bother me much; I came in on a Thursday evening. Would I recommend this location to friends? yes Plus, free parking which is a plus when you have a spa business :)

this popped up on my feed a while ago, and i'd been curious to try it ever since…read more face wash yvr is located on the third floor of aberdeen square, not to be confused with the more famous and much larger aberdeen centre, though the two are connected. located next to the aberdeen station. this was my first time trying a head spa combined with a facial, and it leans more toward a relaxation focused, sensory experience rather than a results driven treatment. cari, the esthetician, guided the entire session with a calm, gentle approach. she wore a mask and gloves throughout, which i appreciated, and was careful to avoid getting water around my ears. the treatment began with a scalp analysis to check for oils or dryness, and she regularly checked in on water temperature and pressure, which made the whole experience feel attentive and considered. the setting itself feels more like a cocoon than a typical treatment room. the lighting is low and washed in deep blue tones, giving everything a calming, almost underwater feel. the treatment bed is a large, curved unit with a glossy finish, softly lit from below with a glowing strip of light along its side. beside it, a small cart holds neatly arranged tools and products, adding to the clean, controlled feel of the space. once you're settled in, the outside world kind of fades out. cari gently removed my makeup but left my eye makeup on. they don't double cleanse here, explaining that it can strip away the skin's essential oils. she also mentioned that using very hot water when washing your hair at home can have a similar effect, and suggested keeping it warm rather than hot. the facial and head spa portions were fairly involved with a body massage that happened simultaneously. as my face and scalp were worked, a gentle vibration from the bed's built in massager ran underneath, creating a layered, full body experience. i asked to have the pressure a little gentler. at one stage, a dome shaped fixture was positioned over my head, releasing gentle streams of warm water from above. the water arced downward in thin, steady streams, almost like a soft rain shower, rinsing through my hair while cari continued working along my scalp with slow scratching and massaging motions. it created a calming contrast between the steady warmth of the water and the more focused, methodical pressure through the scalp and neck. my hair was washed and rinsed several times with careful attention along the scalp and hairline. i wasn't told exactly what products were used for either the hair or the face, which might matter if you're ingredient conscious, though there was no push to promote or sell anything afterward. the focus felt very much on the treatment itself. during the facial, a warmed double jade roller was used across the face, followed by a hot face towel draped over my entire face. it felt very relaxing at first, though at one point i noticed a strong lemongrass or eucalyptus scent, with a faint underlying musty note that didn't quite match the otherwise clean feel of the treatment. i was told the towels were infused with essential oils. afterward, a cold mask was applied for contrast. smooth glass balls, about the size of harmony balls, were also used during part of the massage, gliding across the skin in slow, cooling movements and pressure points. at one point my hair was zipped up inside part of the treatment device and i could see steam drifting upward in the blue light, giving it a slightly futuristic, almost sci fi feel. there was no smell of singed hair or anything concerning. it appeared to simply be part of the steaming process. my hair was blow dried at the end, though it didn't come out as silky or soft as i had imagined, so manage expectations on that front. i went during a limited time promo, priced at $75 plus gratuity. there was a slight mix up with the total at the end, but it was rectified without much fuss. overall, a unique first experience combining a facial and head spa, lasting about 75 minutes. lots of massage elements, attentive care from cari, and an immersive, almost otherworldly setup. best suited for those looking to relax and enjoy the sensory experience rather than expecting dramatic before and after skincare or hair results, tucked away on the third floor of aberdeen square.

Warning! Be very careful with this business establishment as the owner/business partner is very…read moredishonest with her promised services. My wife and I bought a coupon deal back in 2014 for their massage services. We were greeted by the owner Vivian, a Chinese lady roughly in her late 30s fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese, and her assistant Jesse. Our services included cupping, electronic massager, back massage, and hot stone therapy. Vivian and her assistant were very skillful and attentive that, after our sessions included in the coupon deal ended, we prepaid in cash for another 5 sessions each because we were very satisfied with their service. Little did we know it all started going downhill rapidly after that... Fast forward a year to October 2015 (we had been busy in between and went on trips). We booked the first session of the 5 prepaid sessions and went to the spa. We found out Vivian no longer offers massage services to new clients and she only focuses on facial treatments now. No matter, we thought, since we had previously paid for said services and Vivian did book us in... We were very surprised at the end of the session to find that all they did for us was cupping and electronic massager, both of which require very little labour work and minimum supervision. The treatment time was less than hour for each of us but we were in the rooms for an hour and a half, with idling times between treatments because Vivian and her new assistants were busy servicing other customers. Feeling empathy seeing they were really busy and happy for Vivian seeing her business is growing, we didn't voice anything and left. However after discussing with my wife, we both agreed that since there are 4 more sessions, we wanted to make sure we will get the same quality of service next time. Knowing that Vivian did express her unwillingness to continue offer massage services, my wife called her and asked if we could switch the rest of the 4 sessions to spa facials that she's currently promoting on group buying sites. Vivian then went on a rant about how she can't possibly switch us to spa facials because of how little we paid for our services and these deals we saw online are only meant for new customers. Surprised by her drastic change of attitude, my wife voiced our concern with the difference in quality of service we received from the last session compared what we got from the past. Vivian then sounded annoyed as she started to do the math on the phone explaining to my wife what each of the services she provided cost. We never knew what each services cost in the beginning because we bought from a coupon deal, and they never had a price sheet to start with. However we prepaid for 5 more sessions in agreement with Vivian that we would receive the same service. She claimed she offered extra services in the beginning for us because she was being nice. Vivian did agreed at the end that we could switch to doing facial the next time we visit. 3 days ago we went for our appointment, and surprise! We were greeted by 2 of Vivian's hired masseuses, and Vivian was not there. We felt something wasn't right, so we asked the ladies what we could expect from our session. By the time the masseuses finished explaining we would be doing the same massage sessions we had last time, us questioning them why we were not going to receive facial spa treatments like Vivian had agreed on the phone, and them assuring us that Vivian would never agree to a switch of service such as the one we mentioned, we had lost all patience and frustration ensued. I won't bore you with the details, but long story short, we got Vivian on the phone and basically she called us liars at first, not admitting that she had agreed to such a switch. Then after a lengthy debate involving mathematical calculations on prices that she came up with out of thin air, and us confronting her not being able to show us her price sheet for services offered, she changed her stance and said she must have been busy when we were on the phone with her last and she didn't remember what she agreed to. At the end we couldn't talk to her anymore and accepted an out of proportion amount of refund back (we used up 1 of the 5 sessions we paid for, but we only got less than half of our payment back). Be aware friends, if you are considering going to this spa (which we strongly advise against), make sure you asked them to write down every promised services down and have them sign on it and keep it yourself for reference, because they WILL try to screw you over!
