I keep my mouth fairly clean and haven't had mouth pain for 4 years. 2 weeks ago one of my fillings fell out. It's not painful, but the edges are sharp against my tongue. I called Oasis up and made an appointment to fix my filling. They already have my records, and maybe I'd get back into the habit of regular cleanings. They saw me 2 days after my filling fell out. Awesome. I go to my appointment. They take xrays and ask me questions about the severity of my missing filling. I've got no pain, it just needs to be replaced. They say they don't have time to fix it today and that I need another appointment. Apparently it'll take an hour. I was hoping to get it done, but no biggie. They can see me in a week. I take time off work to get my filling replaced. On my way out of my neighborhood they call and tell me they're pushing me back. Ok. Things happen. I get seated in a room 15 minutes after my appointment. Now my blood pressure is 2 points too high. They use one of those cheap electronic BP cuffs. I'm sitting in this dentist chair hoping my BP drops so I can get this work done that I tried to schedule a week and a half ago. They take my blood pressure 2 more times with the cheap cuff, tell me a few things about ADA regulations, and boot me out the door. I worked in healthcare. When a cheap BP cuff reads high, usually someone takes a manual pressure which is more accurate. I was 2 points high, probably at least partly caused by them delaying my appointment and now they won't treat me. If you didn't want me as a patient because I stopped routine cleanings 4 years ago, have the decency to tell me and not waste my time at 2 appointments. You could have told me last week that I should find a new dentist and I would have understood. Dr Galles may be an ok dentist but he is not an ok person.

As someone with…read moreEXTREMELY high dental anxiety, I was dreading the idea of needing more than 1 root canal--but my hygienist helped calm me down before I ever saw Dr Thurman. They both had an incredible bedside manner--calm, kind, and patient. She reassured me that I wouldn't feel any pain and that they would make sure I was nice and numb/relaxed before starting. Dr Thurman explained everything I needed done to my teeth thoroughly, answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed. I had nitric oxide gas and the local anesthetic (per usual) and the entire procedure was completely pain-free! I genuinely couldn't believe how smooth and comfortable it was. So much so, that I've already scheduled to have my other root canal completed by him. So If you're nervous about dental work or just want to be in the hands of someone who truly cares about your comfort, Dr. Thurman is the one to see! I'm so grateful I was referred to him and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone--especially those who experience anxiety at the dentist.

She was compassionate and able to convey exactly what the options were and what to expect. Dr. Kaiser came and talked me thru exactly what he was doing to diagnose the issue and then what the options were as well as what he recommended. He is insanely skilled and his experience shines thru. While I would never recommend a root canal or damaged tooth to anyone, I would recommend that this be one of your first stops in getting it treated.

They led me on to believe that they were in network and that perhaps the reason my consult wasn't covered was because I'd seen another dentist and maybe my insurance only covered one consult per year. I then saw a doctor who was very kind, informative and helpful and proceeded to schedule the procedure I needed done.... Keep in mind that I STILL haven't been informed that I am out of network. I received a call this morning to confirm my appointment for my procedure tomorrow morning and I proceeded to ask what my expected cost after insurance would be. I was informed of an INSANELY high amount considering I have insurance and when I questioned it, I was simply told that yes, this is my total after insurance. STILL NO ONE TELLING ME THEY DON'T ACCEPT MY INSURANCE. I call my insurance to verify and my insurance is finally the one to inform me that this practice is in fact out of network, thus the high price tag. When I call the practice to inform them of this and that I will not be proceeding due to being out of network, I was informed that no, no, no, I was most certainly told they were out of network and I must be mistaken. I promise you I am not one to mishear things when it comes to insurance or cost because I a) can't afford to do things out of network and b) why would I do something out of network when I have dental insurance??? Again I was told this was my mistake and they accepted no responsibility. If they take your insurance, I say go for it as the dentist himself is lovely but please, please, please make sure to verify things yourself because they aren't going to turn away your money or help you to figure out that they aren't in your network.
