Anyway, as a recent resident of Sale I decided to have a look inside Serendipitea - the name alone had me sold. Stepping in from the hustle of Washway Road it's an oasis of calm in there, sleek, clean yet homely. The owner was incredibly welcoming and we got to chatting, they've been open 10 months and business has been good. Whilst I was in there a steady stream of customers came in, some ordered and stayed, some ordered and took out. At first I was only feeling like a hot brew, so opted for an Earl Grey which was from Stash Tea Company - it tasted delicious, not had a tea hit me in such a satisfying way in a long time. Anyway, after that I decided to grab a light bite as well so went for their scrambled eggs on brown toast. It was absolutely delicious. They have an all day breakfast menu which I'd definitely be trying again more thoroughly. They also have freshly prepared baguettes, paninis, jacket potatoes - and cake. I've found my Central Perk.

I mean they've literally moved several hundred yards (yes we're back to yards, feet, inches, ounces - adieus Europe, tatty bye) up the street. Then I remembered that I updated my review to the new location. Anyway the coffee house serves up really wonderful coffees and the staff are always a mega friendly bunch. As I approached this morning I was trying to control a three year old and bags of shopping and he quickly came to help opening the door for me. I had my usual flat white which was superb and an ice cold sparkling water. My miniature companion was discerning enough to opt for a black currant drink and as I was paying he had already delved into the shopping and was sampling an M&S cookie. It's in the genes I say. But yes - the review. It's the same as every other Caffe Nero you will ever go to in England. Foreign accents from the staff, a quick service and the constant question of "With cream?" and a reliable taste. The staff tend to be friendly, but then again I never tend to make any conversation....I just want Coffee. Again, sorry for the biased opinion here, as I've only ever had White Chocolate Mocha's from Caffe Nero. And so obviously as I have no other comparable product I will sadly have to say that these are THE BEST! and well worth the +£3. Or, free if you use the loyalty scheme and have reached your 10th coffee... My lamb steak was superb and my dining companions commented that their desserts were the best they've had in a very long time. Both coffees were excellent. I don't know if their coffee is fair trade, organic or Rainforest Alliance, or source shade - grown from sustainable green beans as no information is provided here. My seeded soft bread roll sandwich had avocado, feta cheese, chilli jam, onion, rocket and other flavour punches. It was delicious. I'd liked to have butter on the sandwich too but so many places now serve that awful chemically manufactured substitute; margarine. The only e in butter is just before the r. So we all enjoyed our food and despite a lot of the customer base being under 12 it was calm and a reasonably quiet place. The real highlight of this location is the children's activity area where they can indulge their creative urges painting pottery or other similiar activities. There's always something going on. If you are looking for a cafe in South Manchester which is good for the family then you really can't beat this place. It isn't really ideal for couples or people without kids though purely because of the potential kids running around. But you are going in with this knowledge and there aren't enough places in Manchester that serves this demographic so they are really onto a winner.

I've not sailed one of these I usually hire the eleven foot wide fifty foot long boat at Silsden in West Yorkshire and it is a fun, great and sometime tiring holiday going through lock gates, through tunnels, under bridges and turning round only if you have to. The manager offered to make fresh coffees and kindly explained about the quality of their coffee, supplied by Dark Woods Coffee and suggested this coffee ain't Costa - I do agree. My new coffee tasted identical to the original but my wife thought hers less 'sour'. Dark Woods provide the coffee and hand roast their beans on a 1950's Probat drum roaster. They are top notch on the environmental and social impact and certified B Corp - 5 green stars here. When tasting think terroir, varietals and process. I had the chestnut & wild mushrooms with garlic & herbs on organic sourdough supplied by an artisan maker. This dish was well balanced, delicious and a decent portion. My wife had the salmon bagel with cream cheese and scallions. She declared it delicious too (salmon delicately smoked by the Manchester Smoke House and bagel baked perfectly by the Bread Factory, Manchester). The sparkling water came well chilled and in a recyclable bottle. We were seated out back at a wobbly table that only required me putting my shoe on the base, the service was attentive, we were suitably distanced from other diners and they genuinely cared that we thought the milk in coffees was off. The place was spic & span clean and with their focus and transparency on quality organic food, preserving the environment (remember folks the earth is our only home) and relying on artisans for produce it's 5 green stars for them too.
