Trying different Karaoke places in the area after reopening and found this one much closer to home. The rates were reasonable, song selections were acceptable and the rooms were clean. We called at 5 pm Saturd right as it opened and was told all the small rooms were booked, but they were willing to give us the mid size room for the same price. The guy on the phone and at the counter was friendly. He gave us a quick tutorial in the room and off we went. As in most Karaoke places it offered songs mainly in English and Chinese, as well as some other languages (Japan/Kpop/Vietnamese/Malay, etc) English songs are easiest to find, Chinese songs as usual are more challenging. If you can hand write 繁體字 or 简体字 it's to your advantage. The sound system was adequate but probably slightly inferior to Music Tunnel KTV in Cupertino. The mic looked new and they even provided mini masks to cover up the head for protection in case you got too intimate with the mic. The menu can be toggled in between English or Chinese, the functions were not overly complicated. They gave us complimentary bottled water but no other services. Our rates were $30/hr ($15 per 30 min to be exact), I don't know if it's the same for weekdays vs weekends. Overall it's very reasonable and we probably will be back due to its proximity. read more

Anyways, that room is like a vortex where time seizes to exist and before you know it hours have passed and you owe a hefty sum. The staff was super nice and hospitable! They have a karaoke system filled with lots of song choices in different languages! Not gonna lie, it was a bit confusing to work at first, but we got the hang of it! Decor couldve been a bit more fun with lights, or even in the lobby. Good karaoke spot that's open late night! We were able to secure a small room on a Friday night. I recommend calling ahead to see if they have rooms available, and ask to reserve it. They can hold the room for about 10 minutes. They provide free water, but there's no alcohol or food provided here. They had a good selection of songs, and nice interior of the rooms! Went tonight with our friends and family (31 people) and it was amazing! There was plenty of parking too. We booked a private karaoke room for our party, 7 Pm-11 PM and it was $180 for that time slot. I didn't have to put a card on file until we arrived which I love. Alice took my reservation over the phone and when we got there she greeted us with a wide smile. Her staff was amazing too, we even were able to bring our own cake. The food was great as well, the wings and mozzarella sticks were delicious. The drinks were great, had the right liquor amount. Overall I'd love it a 10/10. Great place. The typical karaoke feels. The decor isn't anything spectacular, plenty of seating depending on the room size. They were very accommodating in our requests. Free water and sodas in the fridge. The song collections were up to date, the karaoke machines were easy to use with no issues. I would definitely come back! I think the only con I would say is, the music control cannot get loud enough even at 100 to have that balance of mic and music sound. This is probably the best and the cheapest Karaoke places in the bay. They are inside a plaza so there are ton of Parking (I guess, it's harder to find parking during dinner due to so many restaurants in the plaza). Their Happy hour pricing is super cheap. We sang for 3 hours and it was only 7 dollar per person. We have a group of 9 people so I called a day in advance to make a reservation. They have decent options for English songs and obviously Chinese songs. The staff is super friendly and they are super nice. Unlikely other karaoke places in the east bay, they don't force you to buy drinks from them. You can bring in drinks from next door T4. One down side is that some of the English Songs the video and the audio is slightly off. But regardless, this is still my go to for Karaoke. read more

Lucky for smokers, nobody cares and people still smoke here, and for the rest of us, you can just smell like a smoker.....or if you sang too much you can sound like a smoker too. - you can smell the smoke as soon as you open the door. Gross. The rooms are really nice, but the controller is this touch screen thing that's annoying to use. Also, if you want Korean songs, there's not that much of a selection of super new or old songs - seems like they update not very often. They give you mic covers, which is nice. Great prices and even better happy hour deals. What I really liked is their "all you can sing" option. I didn't even know there was such a thing! This is so awesome because I can sing for hours. lol. No joke. Also, they give free beverages (water, soda, and juice). Their only downfall is that they don't sell alcoholic beverages. So I suggest you get your drink on before singing your heart out. I already happened to be in the area for food, but on a Saturday night and the karaoke joint just opened up, might as well just check it out! I and two others were curious about their rates. Luckily their mini room sat 1-3. Perfect! Plus, we made it just in time for Happy Hour (before 8), which gave us an even better rate at $8/hour. At that price, it was just too hard to turn in down. The mini room is not a bad size. You have a couch for the three of you, and a TV maybe 5-6 feet across. Ordering songs was done on the touch screen to our right. I will say the system seems to be Chinese oriented, but there were a decent selection of English songs. They had a lot of old classics and some of the newer radio hits within the month. We ended up singing for maybe an hour and 15. Not a bad deal when the cost is prorated - so $10 is a steal! Couch isn't too bad, and interface is workable. Strong smoke smell all over the place, (even though the signs say "no smoking") made my throat hurt, and only basic services and room. Songs: Good selection of Chinese songs, Decent selection of English. Somewhat light of Korean. The karaoke machine has nice search options (not one of those binder places) but doesn't randomize the queue so we had to do it ourselves. . Service: Making a reservation was quick, easy phone call. But they provide very little. No bells or noise making tools (but they do have dice?), and each bottle of water cost $2. Attendant wasn't so good, she just takes us to our room and says "here it is". No explanation of how to do stuff Environment: Ruined by the aforementioned smoke smell. Bathroom door lock broken. Came here with four other friends on a Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm. Place is dopeeee for a KTV spot. AWhat have I been doing all my teen years hanging out in KTV joints in Oakland? They cannot compare to The Encore KTV (and supposedly what a lot of other Cali joints have to offer). My one* con: The brainless guy working last night who spoke broken cantonese, broken-ass english, and decent mandarin. Gave him two names for a room reservation and he refused to cooperate and said they would only go by the booking's phone #. I said no problem and gave him both numbers. He took ages and couldn't find anything. His coworker walked over and found the booking and led us to the "VIP" room in less than one minute. THE ROOM. My friend and her husband booked the room for an after party after their wedding. Initially I wasn't big on attending since I've disliked the whole asian KTV scene for years (I mean, i still do and I suffer when my friends force me to go out to one). Well, I was in awe when I saw the room and was pleasantly surprised. Since when did KTV become so fancy?!! The room was filled with at least plush couches (those big ones you all can find in the yelp uploads) and a few tables. Seating wasn't cramped like other places I've been to and everyone doesn't have to be seated awkwardly lined up against a wall. Room was hella clean with a decent sound system. Song selection was good and not outdated. Wish we had more mics to pass around than the three we had since that room could've easily fit 20 people comfortably. Seriously, I'm 30 years old and stopped going to these places on my own will since before I hit 21. I've been annoyed every single time and never had any fun until Encore KTV. Would I come again? I mean, if someone invited me, I wouldn't feel like I'm being forced to like I usually do with KTV. And if I get bored, I can just ass out and go to sleep on one of those big couches. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday and I was surprised that the new renovation, the sound system was so much better than before. This place used to be the centerpiece for many of my late night adventures . . . I remember when my boys were having a blast and this little asian man came busting in with water (man, he was cute).You can come here alone or with a gang of folks and always meet new people. The ktv environment is pretty relaxed - not too much of a scene, especially during the week. This place is a perfect place to meet up with friends (or your Tinder/Grindr date) for a few drinks an see where the night (or morning) takes you. Most of the staff are pretty cool and laid back. Visited here on a Saturday during their Happy Hour. Small room that comfortably fits 4-5 people. Pros: -Great customer service -Spacious -Large English song selection -Easy to use monitor -Has good room lighting -Can bring food inside -GREAT HAPPY HOUR DEAL. SMALL: $10/HR Cons: -Our room smelled like cigarette smoke. Probably because we were next to the side door where people smoke outside. -No alcohol allowed -No lounge area Overall, my friends and I had a great time. Some of the guys loved the fact that we can play background music and can control the mic sound and the tv sound. We sang for about 2 hours and 10 mins and paid $23 for 5 people. My very first time here and I had fun. They have everything you can think of to keep you entertained for the whole night. Karaoke (in English, Chinese, Taiwanese). Compare it to the other more modern karaoke bars, this place may seem not up to term. But it has great environment and vibes. The employees are friendly and polite. They also provide karaoke rooms if your party prefers privacy. They have great song selections in Chinese, Taiwanese and English. Even though the KTV system is not modern, but the song selections are countless and current. I am not quite sure how the drinks are at the bar because we ordered a bottle of Hennessy and green tea. But this is the first time I had Hennessy with green and water. Very interesting taste. They also provide you with drinking games. Overall a great place to hang with friends. read more

TLDR: Ok selection of songs, really cheap prices. I was in the area with a group of friends. On a whim, we decided to go and just "check the prices". We didn't actually plan on karaokeing because we only had three people with us and optimal KTV pricing is usually around 5/6 people. Well, we got in, looked at the prices and noticed that a mini room costs $8/hour (which is stupid cheap) and fits 1-3 people. shocked at the prices, we all came to the decision that it was way to cheap to NOT karaoke. Karaoke has always been a big group activity for me, so I was surprised at how fun it was with just three people. The songs went a lot further and there wasn't as much waiting around. We sang for over an hour and the total room fee turned out to be $10. We each paid a little over $3 and left feeling like we got more than we paid for. So next time you want to go to KTV and you think you don't have enough people, Don't let party size limit you. Go to EncoreKTV and sing your heart out. read more

My friend and I came here last night after finding out the karaoke spot we went to before coming here doesn't open until 9pm. We knew this place wouldn't be busy since it's a thursday but we called anyways just to make sure. Now prepare to read a whole page of craziness.. I'm about to tell ya'll the real deal here,, as first timers. the whole shebang! - Customer Service: When we entered the place, a young looking asian guy welcomed us and took us straight to our room (small), gave us 2 microphones and just basically left us. Our overall experience was good because we had fun even if it was just us two. We were so confused because usually at other Karaoke places they familiarizes us how to work everything but he did none of that at all. Especially the fact that EVERYTHING is in Chinese. When I pressed the call button twice the guy never came, rude. I came out to see if he perhaps were accommodating other customers but nope he was just laying down on the couch on his phone -___-. Thankfully it was easy to figure out but that took me about 5 minutes! then my friend had to figure out where the bathroom was to find out there were no toilet paper, toilet seat cover and no soap which was kind of annoying.. makes me think if they even care about being sanitary in this place. - Pricing: So the pricing is decent, I've gone to cheaper ones like Millbrae Karaoke ($25/hr - small room) and in Rancho Cordova ($15/hr - small room). Their Mini room is $22/hr and the small is $38/hr, we paid for the small room. it was kind of awkward how while I was signing my receipt that he kept starring at me. then followed by a funny story short my friend asked the guy about the Mini room and why didn't he gave us that instead. I don't think he understood and said "it's just couple dollars so IT DOESN'T MATTER" like oookay, what if it matters to other people. LOL chill dude - Everything Else: I like the rooms, it's spacious and updated with their touch-screen system, simple. Their music selections are awesome for having newer songs like Demi Lovato, Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, etc.. compared to the other karaokes. I enjoy having the old school way but the touch screen is more simple to add into the system. also when you are selecting the next songs to add.. on the smaller screen, you don't have to look at the tv because the screen has the lyrics on it too! talk about multitasking! ;P Lastly, I want to point out that the guy literally said "you can bring WHATEVER you want in here" when we asked him if we can bring food in.. despite the fact that they had the "No Alcohol & Smoking" sign in every rooms. Great sound system and the all you can sing was great , didn't have to worry about hourly charge . Was one flat rate so didn't see any 18% hidden charge from previous feedback . Came here on a Friday night with some friends. The night started off good with the reservation which was quick and easy, but things went downhill after that. During the night the attendant came in without knocking and took some chairs away, and they did that three different times. They then barged in a fourth time and asked us when we will leave. Never had I been asked to leave a ktv place ever before! We gave them a time and they came and kicked us out when the time came. Don't understand why we get kicked out when they charge by the hour. What terrible customer service! And to make things worse, when they charged us the cashier specially told us tips wasn't included in the price. Again never had I been asked to leave tips for a ktv place. No service was provided whatsoever besides them disrupting us by taking away the chairs. Lastly I was suffocated with the smoke in this place that hurt my throat. I will never come here again and I advise you do the same. read more

This is probably the worst karaoke place I've been to as far as song selection. In the English sections there are no popular classic disney songs, duets, or 90's hits whatsoever. A lot of the english songs are not popular. The place also smells like smoke. Won't be back here again. read more

This karaoke place has a good selection of songs (including both Chinese and English), but there is no specific rooms for non-smokers. The whole karaoke smells like cigarette. For someone who does not smoke or is sensitive to the smell of cigarette, this is not the place to go. However, the price is decent, so you can't complain too much about the cigarette smell. read more

First let me explain myself, I am a professional judge with over 4 years of experience for many singing contests hosted in the Bay Area. I have judged for both UC Davis, UC Berkeley, De Anza College and Foothill College, I will share my opinion/review here for this new Encore KTV. ＿ (FOR QUICK SUMMARY, SCROLL TO THE END) First off, the biggest concern with this new Encore KTV is the countless hidden rules that will charge you without knowing, let me list them here. 1. You have to sing minimum of 2 hours. (No advance notice/not mentioned when acquire the room, was not even on the agreement upon signing) 2. To build on top of the first rule, every person joins in the room aside from original party will FORCEFULLY add on additional 15 minute to the entire bill. (Thus you cannot wrap up and leave within the required time limit. If you choose to, you will be charge the extra hour either way) 3. 18% cleaning fee (EXCLUDING tax, regardless of you consuming alcohol or not) Out of all three rules above, only rule #3 was slightly mentioned. In which this is a shady way to conduct business for a brand new place that just opened. All things aside, stereo set up is decent, speaker angles are adjusted accordingly. Room is tidy cleaned, plain, single color room with minimum designs, and the small room can fit about 6 people. Wireless mics does its job but did not deliver any wow factor, feedback occasionally occur due to very heavy reverb (unable to hear your own voice clearly). Flat screen TV and song selecting system is pretty impressive considering you can choose songs via apps on your mobile device, however, song selections are very limited (especially for HK/TW singers, majority of songs are CN singers). Furthermore, no raise/lower key adjustment, and reverb are nonadjustable. I have went in during happy hours and my bills are $28/hr+18%cleaning fee+tax = $46 I have talked to the front desk regarding the hidden rules and the nice gentleman was unwillingly took off the extra hour charge. I did not leave any tips due to misinformation and its shady business conducts. Assuming if I did not voice my opinion, the entire bill would be over $70/hr. But $46/hr still quite hefty by Bay Area standard. In my opinion, Encore KTV would be an awesome place if it was not for shady conducts and hidden charges. There are many places surrounding Encore KTV that offer much more in terms of both song selections, alcohols, and pricing. This is a major disappointment. Avoid at all cost. PROS - - - - - - + New equipment, speaker quality are above standard + Tech impressive song selection system + Roomy & Temperature is quite right _ CONS - - - - - - - $$$$ Approx. $40/hr+ for a small room - Limited Song selection (esp. HK/TW singers, CN singers are fine) - Heavy Heavy reverb, you can hear yourself chewing gum (not kidding) - Nonadjustable settings (only volumes) - Hidden Fees - 18% Cleaning fees, yet sub-par quality read more

The rooms are new and nice, equptments are all brand new, sound systems are great. But once u get into their rules and u will be mad ! First there r 2 hours minimum charge per room, if thats the case then why the heck they put PER hour rate on the menu ? Second , if u guys go in with 5 people first then have few other friends wanna join then every of ur friends require to be charge 15 more minutes on top of whatever the bill is .
