Called Troy at Total Home and he had Kevin come out that afternoon. The Condensate pump went out and tubes were plugged. Kevin had it fixed in a couple of hours, the pressure switches also had gotten wet and needed to be replace. Which if we didn't have the best furnace these may have been cheaper but with the pump and switches the price that they billed us was still very reasonable. Ticking sounds in the wall while heat is on. DRHorton ordered them to come last December. The guy came and identified the ductwork pipe causing that sounds and decided to just pull the vent register out couple of times. This covered up the issue for half a day and the ductwork went back to its original position. Ticking sounds back. DRHorton coordinated them to come again together with floor guy to open the floor and fix the issue. This time, same guy came and what he did is simply shifted the main vent a bit. Of course it let the sound go for the moment but that is not a solution! We told him that he did similar thing last time. He first refused to admit he had come fixing it before, after we provided more details he called his manager and finally admitted he had an unsuccessful fix last time. Then he said I had to go, my manager said that is just natural sound of a house. What the fuck? Your manager was not even here! When and how did he get the super power to hear a sound remotely and determine that's the natural sounds?! Yep, 10 min after he left and the sound is back again. We ran into him two houses away from ours about 1 hour after he left, and let him know that the sound was back. He did not give it a shit and refused to spend 5 min to come and listen. One was ridiculously high (this is our second install plus another at my mother-in-laws, sister-in-law's, and our son's, so we have a pretty good idea about costs and what increases that cost). Hitech was responsive, knowledgeable, reasonably priced and when they came out, there was an experienced electrician training a young journeyman electrician. They were both nice and made sure we were happy with the job. 18 months after intallation, my car started to send a message that it was sensing heat at the outlet and was turning off. When I called Hitec, they were very responsive and sent a tech out the next morning. He said they have not had any issues with the boxes, but he would check everything out. The only thing he found was that one of the four screws was not tight. He tightened it and told me that if I got a message again, to call them right back and they would send someone out to redo the work. We have not had any other issues. Their great reputation, immediate response and willingness to make sure the work is done right means we'll use them again for any future electrical work.
