I pointed it out and they said it was not a big deal and they would fix it. Well, my grant deed arrives in the mail and I'm all excited and what do I see? That same typo in my name. All the excitement about being a first-time homeowner really gets drained when you realize someone named "Dafna" actually owns your home. They did correct the error for me, but I had to pay my own notary fees since I'm not available to go to their office, which is nowhere near my office, during business hours. Flash forward a few months later and I'm working with a lawyer on some estate planning documents. And what does she find? ANOTHER ERROR ON MY GRANT DEED! They actually put the wrong APN. That's a HUGE problem. And again, I'm on the hook for my own notary fees unless I want to take time off from work (which would cost me more than the notary fees.) Attention to detail is so important in every job, but especially in this line of work. I'm very, very disappointed and this company made the already stressful home-buying process much worse.

I opened escrow using this company because that's the company that the seller's agent chose. The…read moreseller and I then decided to mutually cancel escrow. The company wanted a wire transfer for the good faith deposit when we opened escrow. I spent $30 with my financial institution to give them the wire transfer that they wanted. Once escrow was cancelled, they refunded me my good faith deposit, less a $25 wire fee. I thought wait, I spent the $30 to wire the money and they are charging me $25 to send me a check?!? Which my broker had to make several calls to have issued. My broker made several attempts to reason with them and get to the bottom of the wire transfer fee they charged me for issuing me a check. Their rationale was because their bank charges them a fee to accept a wire transfer. Um, how is that exactly my problem? My bank charged me $30 to send it, you didn't see me try to get that back from escrow. Besides, they asked for a wire transfer knowing their bank would charge them the fee to accept the money (which I have never heard of charging a fee to receive a wire transfer). This company practices unethical business practice. I'm also reporting them to the BBB!
