I've also sent my kids to camps at this facility over the years, and most recently, my kids have used the basketball court for training. I've always found the community center staff to be friendly, the building clean, the restrooms working, etc... I've even gone in to warm up a bit on a cold day / cool down a bit on a hot day. I cannot compare this community center to others in Scottsdale, but it does remind me a bit of a community center where I grew up in Michigan and brings back many warm memories. Linda, the front office lady, is consistently harassing people. If she or her friends don't like you, you're on the "shit list". Linda has tried to run my dog over a couple months ago, when my son accidentally threw the ball too hard. He pointed out her white SUV multiple times, later to realize it was hers. Ed, the security guy, makes inappropriate comments and has even yelled at me saying I was a "princess and the world doesn't revolve around me", when I had complaints about a tree trimming service crew driving onto my lot, telling me to shut up and close my door and windows when I asked him to park on the side of the road as he didn't need to pull right next to my rv and smoke blowing it into it as my child and I were getting sick. Bc one of Linda and Ed's buddy, Matt R. tried to force himself into my rv and they had a private nickname of 'girlfriend', and due to this friend not getting anything of that sort from me and then filing complaint after complaint, among trying to force me to pay to fix his truck, I have now become the subject of harassment, bullying, and hate crime. I have asked for approval to collect some wood from the leaving mobile homes, so I can build a fence and patio. Even with her approval I have tried, but each time when came to the lot requested, she would consistently yell at me and give it to a random work crew who doesn't do work in the park. Linda, the front office crew, Ed the security, are completely unprofessional and always yelling at people. If they don't like you, watch out, whether you do something wrong or not. I am exhausted, feeling singled out, and scared of this harassment and bullying. I will be leaving more reviews on other platforms as well. I am not the only one with these types of complaints and just because the community is closing, these complaints and safety concerns should not go unaddressed. The PERA Club is a private facility for SRP employees, their families, and invited guests only. To host an event at the PERA Club the employee has to make the reservation and be present the day of the event. Employees can sponsor in outside guests if the room and date are available for booking. Employees can only host one event each year on one day - no multiple personal events at a time. Employees of SRP MUST MAKE THE RESERVATION! A $300 deposit is due within 30 days of the booking, the deposit is then added to the total bill. Prices for the venues changes every year, between 15-25% increase. That being said the prices for rental of the location are extremely fair for the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. This facility has several different style rooms: good for meetings, conferences, weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc. All the rooms come at a different price per rental depending on hours rented. No event can be later than 12:00 am with clean up being from 12:00 am - 1:00 am. My reason for 4 stars is the facility is in desperate need of a facelift. For $28 I signed my toddler up for a three week swim class (two days a week). Seriously, people. $28. Swim. Class. I am not looking to train him to be like Michael Phelps, I just want him to be comfortable around water and know the basics. Other swim schools will charge you three or four times that per class. I would rather give back to my community, any day of the week! I was nervous to take the boy to swim class for the first time, but the front desk staff were friendly and pointed where to go, and the instructor, Moira is so fun! My son loved her and she kept the class moving. There are picnic benches along the west and north edges of the pool, and in the early evening there is plenty of shade for onlookers. The bathrooms (the women's bathroom, at least) appeared to be clean and stocked. Lots of concrete and not much else, but all you really need is a clean toilet and clean floors. I can't wait to sign up for more classes at this location! A couple of tips for first time moms like me who over-prepare for EVERYTHING: - Bring an extra towel for the kiddo to sit on in the bathroom. It's not dirty, but it is concrete. I layed a towel down so I could change the boy's diaper. - Pool entrance is through the womens/mens shower rooms just off the lobby. The front desk can point the way. - They said there are lockers for rent, but I didn't see any so we took our pool bag out to the deck with us. No issues with anyone messing with our stuff while we swam; there were lots of other families and kids and everyone was super friendly. - Showers are available to rinse off before and after swimming. I didn't see any signs that said a rinse is mandatory before you enter the pool, but maybe I missed something? - No photography in bathrooms (duh). Pool area with permission.
