I came in for a smog on a CARB clean truck check , basically a smog on a box truck . His sign says he allows a retest . He takes less than 2 min and comes in to say it failed & he still has to charge $150 & does not offer a free retest when his sign says otherwise . I understand your shop is hidden & you barely make ends meet but don't go scamming people bc of the bad location . I'm surprised to see this isn't the first time it happens . This guy will take advantage of you & there's no way to challenge it , I will take this to the BBB & hopefully get a resolution . This place will run a smog test knowing your car will not pass, in my case the battery was changed and the car still needed to be driven for all the sensors to reset. When asked why, his response was he doesn't work for free. Most smog shops connect scanners before the test and will tell you if sensors are ready he does too but didn't say anything. read more

Service is average. Not to busy ( arrived late afternoon) . The smog check process took 10mins of labor with a $50 price tag. If you pay by credit card, the fee is 25cents. You can definitely find better prices elsewhere. What bothered me the most was when he asked to see my driver's license. He swiped it which I believe extracts my name and address for his records and invoices. I'm a private person and utilize a private mail box for businesses requesting an address. In today's cyber security climate, I really don't what my DL info stored in a database of a business I used once. read more
