This addition is a well-needed, state of the art events and physical education building, long overdue for the students and faculty. This building boasts over 21,000 square feet that brings together the performing arts and physical education. This connection is developed through the Hall of Fame, which physically connects the two groups. In addition to showcasing the School's rich heritage, the Hall of Fame area acts as a meeting space during events. The project also includes boys and girls locker room, coaches' offices, sports team rooms, restrooms and showers, wrestling rooms, dance room, trainer's room, and multi-use event space with telescoping theatre seating. It was incredibly endearing to see current and former staff taking pride in their campus' accomplishment, honoring the fact that they will be Sultans forever. Like most, I remember my former high school well. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Santana is my alma mater (class of 2002) and the place where I met my husband, Brandon. Leaving was one of the hardest decisions we've ever made, and we only did so because we recently transitioned our daughter to preschool. It truly felt like leaving a piece of our heart behind. We began with Miss Lauryn at her PB location and loved her so much that we followed her through her relocation to Santee -- even though it's far from our home. That alone speaks to the depth of our trust in her. Her Santee facility is beautiful, clean, safe, thoughtfully designed, and located in a wonderful neighborhood. Our daughter became her very first student there, and we couldn't have been happier. From day one, Miss Lauryn created the safest, warmest, most nurturing environment a parent could ever hope for. Our daughter had only ever been cared for at home by a nanny, so the idea of sending her somewhere outside our home felt intimidating at first -- but she made the transition seamless. Her program is the perfect bridge between in-home care and a true school setting: loving, personal, and homey, yet structured with curriculum, routines, and so many opportunities for social and developmental growth. Our daughter absolutely THRIVED with her. She grew into an expressive, confident, funny, kind little girl with such a big personality, and Miss Lauryn and her wonderful assistants were a huge part of that. She is attentive, patient, loving, and genuinely treats each child as if they were her own. Her communication with parents is absolutely exceptional. She uses the ClassDojo app and posts photos and updates every day, so you always feel connected and reassured. She is incredibly responsive, understanding, and communicative -- which is especially comforting if you're a more cautious or anxious parent (like we were in the beginning). You truly feel informed, included, and at ease at all times. On top of all of that, her hours are amazing -- better than nearly anything else we found -- and she provides all food, snacks, and lunches, which is such a huge help for busy families. And her rates are extremely fair and competitive for the level of care, communication, and structure she provides. It truly doesn't get better than this. If you are looking for a safe, loving, clean, developmentally focused, and genuinely warm environment for your child, Blooming Blossoms is the very best decision you can make. I'm extremely disappointed with this preschool. On one of the instances, my daughter was punched in…read morethe nose by another child, and most recently, she has broken capillaries and a fingerprint bruise on her face. I took her to the pediatrician to have her face looked at, in hopes that she would open up and tell the doctor who really did this to her and to get advice on how to heal broken blood vessels. Unfortunately, based on the size and force of the mark, it may not have been a child. The director said that the child that my daughter named is too sickly to have done this. When I tried to get answers, I was repeatedly dismissed with, "What do you want me to do?" Their solution to bullying is simply moving the child, not addressing the issue or teaching the kids proper behavior. The cameras don't store footage for more than 72 hours, so it's impossible to get answers about what's really going on. The director's response when I expressed concerns about my child being hurt again was chilling: "I can't guarantee she won't get hit again. If you're not okay with that, this isn't the environment for her." I removed my daughter from this preschool and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive environment for their child. It's like the McDonald's of Montessori--cheap and pretending to offer a quality Montessori.

They are very play based, with a large shaded playground and lots of Montessori-style toys and sensory items. They've even had a gardening day! My son also knew all of his colors, numbers, and letters at 2! Beyond all of these great features - my favorite is that it is a Christ centered school. More specifically: Great teachers His main teacher is Ms. Erica, and he also spends time with others, especially Ms. Becca and Mr. Junior. They are all attentive and caring, and our son loves being around them. If he is in one part of the facility or in the yard when I pick him up, he often insists we visit other rooms on the way out to say good bye to other teachers he knows. When there is an issue, whether it was something our son did, or something he did to someone else (you know like pushing/getting pushed, while not often, it's inevitable among toddlers that it happens sometimes), the teachers communicate promptly and transparently. Great administrators I am amazed at how Ms. Ana and Ms. Daisy are on top of what and how all the children across levels are doing. The are always in the classrooms helping the teachers and checking in on the students, and are really aware of what's going on. They have created an environment of open communication across the staff, so all the teachers and administrators are frequently in contact over the course of the day so that everyone stays on the same page. Great support and communication Our son was in the process of getting potty trained when he started attending. Everyone was super helpful, patient with his accidents, and accommodated special requests. The teachers and administrators were always happy to discuss how our son's day went and align on strategies to help him going forward. The app is great and pictures are uploaded throughout the day so we know what the children are up to. Great programming The children are always kept busy with fun activities. There's lots of painting, crafts, playdough, magnatiles... Every time I show up to pick my son up he's engaged in something, whether an activity at a table, or climbing on a playground structure in the yard. Sometimes he says we can't go home yet because he wants to finish what he is working on! Each child's art is stored in their own folder, and we have brought home a whole pile already. Some of the art is displayed in the hallway, along with a picture of the child making the art that is displayed. They always make sure that every child has art displayed. Our son likes to search the hall for his art and then wants to pose for a picture with it and with the picture of himself making it -- very meta. In short, just a great experience. I've read through all the other reviews out of curiosity. I have to say I'm perplexed by the negative reviews. I'm sure people have had different experiences, and have had the experiences they say. Learning a second language from a free public school is a very rare opportunity here in San Diego. Not a lot of schools offer this. They also have Spanish immersion program. I recommend this school!
