I wanted to get my lashes done for the Made in America festival so I called Katina literally at 10AM that day, and she was able to get me in at 1PM. PERFECT!!! I don't know. But let me tell you a little bit more about the decision you are about to make. My first ever waxer relocated to a whole another state and I was lost for sometime. I tried to become a regular for European Wax but their service and work did not mix well with me. I am currently located at #AspenHills #Rockville and I started looking for waxers. Wanting to find a place that feels like home and a safe space to be reborn every other 4-6 weeks. When I found Magdalen's page, the reviews automatically got my attention and decided to book being that she was 13-15 min away. The BEST decision I've made all year. When you enter, this particular smell that its so deliciously delicate welcomes you. Warning, in the beginning you will be confused and nervous because her method is so different from what everyone else is doing. But trust me when I say that it's less painful and more effective. I have thick hair and it grows really fast but after my first visit with Magdalen I noticed about only 60% of my hair growing back. Which is crazy for the amount of hair I used to grow with the other waxer. She warned me about growing less hair and less pain but you just have to book for the experience and for finding a home. My waxer was also sitting with them, engaging in what I felt was an inappropriate conversation. Based on the tone and comments being made, it was clear there was frustration, which made me uncomfortable as a first-time client. I arrived two minutes after my scheduled appointment time and was informed there was a nine-minute grace period. Despite this, I was asked to wait and then waited almost three additional minutes before being taken to the room. This was confusing, as it appeared the waxer was available, and it made me feel as though I was late or inconveniencing the staff, which was not the case. This was my first time ever getting waxed and my first visit to a European Wax Center. I explained multiple times that I was nervous. While my waxer, Mariah, was okay overall, her patience with me was very limited. I did not feel reassured or supported, which made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. After my service, I was brought to the front to pay and asked about leaving a tip. I declined, as I was not satisfied with my experience. In response, I heard an "oop" from my waxer and another staff member. I found this comment to be rude and unprofessional. That moment significantly impacted my overall experience, bringing it from a 7 down to a 4. Due to this experience, I will not be returning, nor will I be visiting any wax center in the future. I believe the staff would benefit greatly from additional customer service training, especially when working with first-time clients.
