Upon my arrival at 6 AM, Dr. Yashar took the opportunity not to focus on patient care but to publicly address my previous Yelp review in front of his nurses and assistants. He humiliated me by stating that he couldn't help a patient who didn't "trust" him and warned me to "be careful about unfair Yelp reviews" because he could "sue me for defamation." Dr. Yashar, let me clarify a few things. First, your threats of legal action for expressing my opinion are not only unfounded but a blatant misunderstanding of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which protects my right to freedom of speech. Unless I'm spreading false information with malicious intent, which I am not, I cannot be sued for defamation. As a patient, I have every right to share my experience, whether positive or negative, so that others can make informed decisions. Medical school may not have taught you about political science or emotional intelligence, but as a future practitioner in mental health, I suggest you practice some mindfulness. Instead of addressing my concerns with professionalism and respect, you raised your voice and projected your frustration about the review. Had you maintained patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and chosen to have a private, respectful conversation with me, I might have been open to reconsidering my review. Instead, your approach was inappropriate, and frankly, unethical. You asked why I would return to your surgery center if I didn't "trust" you. The answer is simple--convenience, the hope for a different experience, and trust in the rest of the staff, who have treated me with far more compassion and professionalism. This was my third appointment here. My second visit, when you were not my doctor, was significantly better. But today's experience with you has been the worst of all. Additionally, if you're going to refuse care, proper patient protocols should be in place. Making me come to your office, change into a hospital robe, get an IV placed, and then keeping me waiting in a cold room for two hours only to deny treatment is unacceptable. The responsibility for building a doctor-patient relationship falls on the physician, not the patient. Your staff was incredibly compassionate today, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same for you. This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I hope you reflect on how you interact with future patients.

I have no experience with other pain specialists so have nothing to compare. I am at a loss regarding continuing with this business or cutting ties. Be very careful using this business. The upfront appointments go well but lacking in ongoing communication.

I didn't know where to go and I happened to find Dr. Cervera on a random website online. I was looking for a doctor who could diagnose the bump on my abdomen that could also have been a hernia. (Dr. Cervera can diagnose hernias as well) I ended up going to the small doctors office, getting diagnosed with a fat deposit (small cancer cells) and getting my surgery done. Dr. Cervera and his assistant (which is also his secretary) performed an amazing small surgery. They check up regularly with me and even send me text messages on their days off to make sure I'm doing fine. If there is any issue they can take care off, they are the people to go to, they are exceptional and caring. Finally the whole operation with biopsy cost me less than 400$. Once again huge thanks to Dr Cervera and his secretary Linda.

I will say this: Get your MRI before you go. Pain management places tend to charge pretty hefty fees for meeting, and there's practically not much they can assess without your MRIs done. Everything is pretty much hypothetical with no treatment plan until they go through MRIs, so honestly I wouldn't even go until you have it. Saves you the cost on an entire visit. Also, please ask for your MRI reports. The doctor is super friendly, but they will only discuss matters associated with your accident. There could be major things on that MRI that you would 100% want to know or follow up with your primary about. You definitely should prepare to be proactive in order for anything to be seamless.
