I think I worked with David! He was so honest and helpful. He wanted to understand how I travel and what most needed and helped me stay within my budget. I was so grateful. I have never had anybody help me pick out the best piece of luggage for myself. I am so glad I got off the crazy street of hawkers right outside his front door. His shop is in Chinatown... So get ready to be accosted by aggressive hawkers that want to shove trinkets in your face. It's very daunting . They were so aggressive! Right when I walked in the doors of Empire luggage, I felt a warm kindness. He was so genuinely sweet and really seem to care about what we most needed. I definitely recommend going to this place. The selection is phenomenal and it seems like they can offer a great piece of luggage for any budget. I really appreciate the whole experience. They have both integrity and honesty. And they made me feel important. Thank you - we made it back from New York City to Seattle with our new luggage in tow, and we will be taking these beautiful pieces to France! We are so grateful!

I walked by this store passing by it and looked through it not expecting much from a non retail store. Surprisingly the backpacks and luggage's were really high quality with a massive selection for aesthetic designs. I got myself a backpack that has great space to put all my notebooks and laptop. Would recommend 100% for price, choices, and quality

I purchased this luggage in 2003 from Empire luggage, it was recommended by the staff. 17 yrs later it is still in use!

Complete waste of time--they didn't have travel adapter for Europe and the salesperson was clueless.

Tried to sell me a $280 set on Amazon for $500. I was not amused.

Nice-ish but expensive. I can seriously find the same things at different stores and get a better price. Not worth it.

I have a handful of their Aluminum trunks as well as their Original Cabin size Aluminum [all in…read moresilver] and I brought in two of the latter with varying needs of repair about two weeks ago. I was so impressed with the store itself and how the repairs are handled in store- it felt like the Service Department at a Land Rover dealership as the service desk is integrated into the retail store with other items for sale. One case had a broken lock, the other needed a full replacement of the telescoping handle as well as one entire wheel/the joint that connects it to the case and both needed one mesh divider as they cracked with repeated use after seven years of ownership. Pricing was fair, turn around time was impressive, and my experience further solidified why I'm a customer of this brand. Another review stated that they wouldn't allow the bags to be left at the store for the service to be completed, which was not my experience- one bag was done whilst I was still in the store sorting out the repairs needed with the Rimowa consultant and they graciously allowed me to collect both of them a few hours later at the same time at my convenience during store hours. Also to note, they had customers merely browsing, some were purchasing varying amounts of their luggage and at different price points, and my takeaway was that I was very impressed with the Sales Associates as well as the customers- they were overall very cerebral and not snooty. I wish that wasn't something needing to be noted, but very commonly either other customers or staff make in store retail shopping somewhat unpleasant; I intend to purchase directly for future purchases rather than through Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's- which I had done by exclusively on my past Rimowa purchases.

Then he had to bring the suitcase back to our hotel and meet up, wasted almost 2 hours of our vacation day. Would've much preferred being able to pick up later in the day on way back. However, repair was excellent.

Modern Leather Goods is the only approved Briggs & Riley repair vendor in Manhattan, which is…read moreexactly why I went. The zipper on my cabin carry-on had jammed completely and I couldn't get the bag open or closed properly. I brought it in expecting to leave it for at least a few hours if not a day or two. Instead, the person helping me took a look, got to work, and had the zipper unstuck and running smoothly in about 15 minutes while I waited. What really impressed me is that he didn't just fix it, he showed me how to handle it myself if it ever happens again. His technique: overstuff the bag so the fabric draws out and the tension increases around the zipper track, then give the caught area a few firm flicks with the edge of a credit card. The added tension plus the flicking releases the fabric from the zipper teeth. Simple, clever, and the kind of trade knowledge you only get from people who have been doing this for a long time.

I filled out the paperwork on the Internet and mailed the leather bags to their Manhattan shop. I received a call the day the handbags were received. I gave a credit card number to repair both bags for $150 and $35 shipping and handling. I was told the bags would be returned to me within two weeks. The bags were returned by FedEx and have a glossy luster and shine now. The black bag looks like new and the white is better but not perfect.

YOU. ARE. NOT. 20 yrs old NO. MO!!! So that being said, I hope it's awhile before my old ass acts like that again hahah! Actually, nah! Being a dumb kid is fun! Hahahaha! So being in the city, CLEARLY I had to get my friends souvenirs! Souvenirs for my friends who arrrrre....21 and 22 years old Hahahaha! So what's the most popular souvenir no matter what (usually)? .... SHOT GLASSES! But of course-hahaha!! So I stopped in here. Word to the wise....get your shit glasses, tshirts, etc somewhere NOT located in Times Square! Why? Because you will save a ton! Did I do that tho? Nah! Why? Well because of NYE....My old ass took like 2 days to recover. So while recovering...I went absolutely nowhere lol. So the day I'm leaving, I'm running all over Times Square looking for bagels for my mom and stores to get shit glasses and keychains, magnets, and some other things. Went here and paid 2x what I would elsewhere...outside TS. Growing up in NYS and spending tons of time down in the city as a kid and as an adult... I have ALWAYS known better than to buy in TS or around there, but I was in a rush....like so many in NY lol. I legit was tho. I was more worried to find bagels than anything else. Did I get bagels? Nope. Turns out my mom would have rather had NYC crumb cake (because I told her I bought a piece every day I was there and went to bed a happy fat pig lol) and she's like "forget the bagels! There's nothing like NY crumb cake! She's absolutely right. Mental note for next time hahaha! I got my crumb cake at a deli in Queens. Not important to this review, but yeah lol This place I got the shot glasses and other things at...super cool inside. CLASSIC Times Square store. Big, flashy, busy as hell! Great store! Minus the prices you'll pay and OH! And there's an old man who works there, I'm assuming the owner....NOT a very nice man. He deals with tourists all day long..Americans and everyone else from all over the world. I get he may be burned out. That's the case tho....step aside and let a happy person run registers and the floor. Other than that, it's a great place. You definitely feel the crazy NYC vibes in there and right outside is mayhem! Step outs and look to the left and there's the TS NYE Ball, the 2020 sign. Very cool! Thanks, yelperetties! Cheers!
