TL;DR - Save gas, get a Harley. Located right next to Costco's Gas Station is Empire Harley-Davidson. Seeing several past posts from my Yelp friends Jim C. and Marianne W., in the Fall of '21 I finally made the time to peruse this spot. Appreciative of a high horsepower vehicle, I was actually excited to finally be here. Driving up the ramp to the main entrance, I was pleased with the front façade and ample parking lot. Upon entering the massive showroom, all I noticed were two floors of endless models. A motorcycle dealership is much different than a car dealership, as the showroom can fit, from my perspective, 100s of bikes. I didn't count but I know there were a lot. I was greeted hesitantly, though cordially and I replied that I was just browsing. As I moseyed along, the staff interactions were friendlier which I appreciated and made me feel comfortable. The showroom is well organized and laid out strategically. I tried to scope out the fastest which were staged mainly upfront. As well as the Three Wheelers always prominently posted on Jim C's page. These were displayed on the 2nd floor and in good company with other models. Matter of fact, a few Three Wheelers had SOLD tags on them. Obviously a popular model. A few Three Wheeler options I saw were very large as they included a comfy passenger seat and all the amenities one could fit into a single motorcycle. After getting my fill of the overwhelming display of options, I headed down towards the exit and noticed other women there checking out the displays. Cool. I've always had a need for speed but can't ride a motorbike myself. But if I did, I would consider cruising in a Harley. read more

I was grossly disappointed with the level of service I received. Service department was decent and honored their express lane service as advertised on their website. Parts department did not honor their online advertised promotions. Sales department was horrific. If you're not there to buy a motorcycle on the spot, you are nothing to them. I was pawned off to another sales associate when asked to demo a bike and they took in other customers before me. After almost two hours of waiting , I left without a demo ride. Became part of the Harley Family last week. Before I rode, I added Foward Foot Controls because I'm 6'4. There was a miss communication(on both parties) on the Service date and I thought I would have to wait a few more days to ride. Went there for father's day weekend to buy a brand new Iron883. The sales people (A-Rod, Mike, Angel) were very helpful and attentive. Also the sales guys are very knowledgeable about the motorcycles since they're all own a Harley. The service dept. is very clean and organized. Had a stripped Oil Pan. Other dealerships said the only way to repair was to replace the crankcase or "Hey why don't you trade your XG500 for an another and ride out today on a new one?". Empire's Service Manager stepped up and talked me through their repair process while at the Harley Officers Training conference. Brought the bike in 2 weeks later on a Saturday morning appointment. By little past noon; everything was fixed; No Leaks, Dry as a bone and covered by HD Extended Service Plan. I've been a mechanic for over 40 years and let me tell you this service department at empire Harley is bad news. I took my Harley front and rear wheel in to have the tires replaced. Service order was written up as "mount and balance new tires and install new valve stem assemblies". I go to pick up the wheels and as I'm leaving I notice there's no valve caps on the valve stems. Then I notice there are no balance weights on the either wheel. So , okay maybe the wheels didn't need any weights..... so I ask " you did balance these wheels right ?? " The service writer says " ohhh ..... no..... we can't balance the wheels without the rotors on the wheels...... I said " okay ..... when were you going to tell me that ? " ......After I reinstall these wheels and find out it shimmies !!!!!!! Why didn't you tell me that since you were charging me for it ?? Then , he says " if you go home and mount the rotors on and bring the wheels back we'll balance them..... okay .. I asked " will you do it while I wait ?" I know it's a 10 minute job , but I'm trying to be courteous after losing all confidence in what these people are telling me. I go home, mount the rotors and go back. I waited 2 hours before losing my patients and asking for my wheels back. You would think after doing such a crappy job so far they would try and make it right for me. No.... I left there and went home and balanced my own wheels. I will never go back to this place For service. I have zero confidence in their service team. Stay away from there. Ps..... He then introduced me to a salesman named Pete (great guy) who worked with me the next couple of weeks to perfect my dream bike. The trade in value was extremely fair and I was happy to learn that I would save tax $ from the trade in. When I went to pick up the bike I was again greeted by the owner and Pete who proceeded to have several other people assist me in going over the bike. Took me a couple of days to digest the despicable behavior I was subjected to but here it goes... I went to Empire Harley Davidson on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 around 3:30 p.m. My bike (Fat Boy) had low tire pressure and needed air. I was close to Empire Harley Davidson so I pulled in. I was spoken to by a guy who was sitting at the service counter. I told him I needed air for my tires. He then begin to stumble and fumble over his words and then called another guy over. REALLY?? You need a second person to discuss air? This second guy said they only service THEIR customers. REALLY? I am standing there in an empire t-shirt AND my bike is serviced at this location ANNUALLY! WHEN and HOW did he make an assessment that I was not their customer??? By the way, in additional to annual service, everything I've needed for my bike has been purchased from this location! That did not seem to matter to him. Not sure how he assessed I was not THEIR customer... he NEVER asked me anything that would prove or disprove my customer status. To add insult to injury he then said, "we don't have air." WHAT??? It's a service department! WHOA! Did I just walk into a diner in Mississippi in 1960 and ask for a cup of coffee??? Yes, you get it! Apparently, these two men did not want to provide service to a Black man! Not being over sensitive, wouldn't first guy know you didn't have air? Wouldn't you apologize for not being able to provide service? How in the world did you decide I was not your customer when you NEVER asked? Do you only have air for your customers? This is the place to go if you're looking for a HD. I'm a first time buyer of a street bike. Angel is an easy going guy who showed me around and explained differences in the bikes and how you could easily add various accessories like a windshield or backrest for a passenger. They have a big inventory and you will have no problem considering all the options with the help of Angel and the other people here. I originally went in for a used bike (a 2016 72), but Kris, one of the managers, offered me a great price on a new '17 1200 Custom, including delivery to my house in the Poconos. Speaking of which, Anthony, the guy who delivered the bike, is a great and reliable guy who arrived there an hour before I did. Really, all the folks at Empire, including Stephanie, who helped me workout the paperwork and insurance, were a pleasure to deal with. So go on over there and ask for Angel. I purchased 2 bikes from Empire, sales guys were ok, Parts guys Charlie and Andy are top notch. They know the product and genuinely try to help you. The black hole of the dealership is the service department. The manager Jim doesn't have any customer service skills, uncaring, unfriendly and clearly couldn't care less about his job. I had an appointment this morning for 20K service. Sam got me in right away. Curtis serviced my bike and he did excellent job and in a timely manner. I knew I would have to wait a while, so I walked around...and shopped. I decided I needed sissy bar for my T-bag for summer adventures and a cell phone holder and they didn't mind adding them on while servicing the bike. Heather remembered me from previous service time and she asked how did I like the jacket and boots she recommended last time. The parts department was fully stocked and everyone was very polite and eager to answer my questions about pretty much anything. Angel took his time to show me a new bike, so we have an appointment for November...LOL.. James was keeping me busy between his meetings with advice on long distance riding tricks. From the first moment you walk into the dealership, you are welcomed by Mattie in service, she is the consummate professional. Her details on your service are bar none, Then there is John the service manager. John is explicit with your needs in that department, explaining every aspect of the service for your bike. Then there is Charlie and John in parts, both are very informative about which part you need for the bike and are always available for your questions. In the shop is Matt, he has been working on my 2015 Road King and he has gone through every nook and cranny with me about the service and has gone far beyond the what the bike has been scheduled for without an increase in price. And, last but not least, Anthony the transporter for when you need a tow or you need your bike looked after, he is the guy for any detailing, information on how the progress is going with your bike or a quick change with a request. These people, as well as the other staff, members truly make Empire Harley Davidson a pleasurable experience. Home of the $20 tire change. I live fairly close to 3 Harley dealers and this one gets my vote. I usually live on my motorcycle and am a very busy person. With that being said, I don't have a lot of time an money to waste. I called ahead and was able to schedule my appointment within 3 days of calling. All the other dealers were going to make me wait 3 weeks and were going to charge around $100 for the tire change. I was greeted with a smile and quick check in. They have a very comfortable waiting area which offers a TV, couches and free coffee while you wait. They always have a clearance rack if your in need of shirts, jeans or jackets. The parts department is fully stocked. They even offer children's clothing and novelty items. Ohhh yea, they sell motorcycles too! Every employee that noticed me smiled and made me feel welcome. A few went out of their way to see if I needed assistance. This will be my go to place from now on, even though it about 40 ride. I came in as a first-time buyer. The sales people here reminded me of the hyenas from the Lion King, slimy-friendly, licking their chops as they circled their prey. Tried to get me to pay $1500 over KBB resale value, a large % of the price for an entry level used bike. When I repeated my max price, they reduced the asking price but tacked on a bunch of bs fees that drove the price back up to where it started. I politely but firmly declined their offer for financing, stating that I could pay cash, but was asked at least another 3 times (no, I don't need a loan with a 20% interest rate). I wasn't having it - walked out, and ignored their calls and autodialed texts (which I never authorized them to send). I later found a great bike at a great price at a dealership where I was given straightforward pricing and treated with sincere kindness and respect. read more

They missed out on three sales in 24 months and I ended up going to Danbury. 2 missed sales were because they would not discuss pricing on the phone and the 3rd sales was due to a Ducati trade in with less than 500 miles..they said they would call me the next day and never did. They said they didn't know much about Ducati's even though they sold them a year earlier when it was New Roc. Missed out on $55,000 of bikes. The only thing that makes me not give them zero is that I cannot and their parts and retail staff are strong, pleasant and helpful. read more

Regarding the closing of New Roc - it had Terrible Service Management, and in addition to my crappy inept experiences there, I found I had plenty of company. In fact I went to Danbury to buy a new bike specifically because of my awful experience at New Roc (which is 6 miles from my house). So when Empire appeared replacing New Roc - I figured I'd re-evaluate. To be fair I didn't have an experience with Empire Service - but the important thing is WHY. SAME SERVICE MANAGERS. I purchased my first Harley in 2011 an FXDWG when they were still New Roc Harley. I also purchased an 1100 Ducati Monster later in that year. When I returned to see what 2012 there had been a change of ownership, it was immediately noticeable, Kyle the GM came out to say hello and greeted all the customers walking in, and I met Kris who was a sales rep and now one of the sales managers. Kris is a great guy, helped get me the best deal possible for my trade in, and got me on a new VCRSDX. I enjoyed the hell out of that bike, Kris even went out of his way to pick up some cigars for me to enjoy while I waited for the bike paperwork and prep to get done! The staff here is great! You build a great relationship with everyone, it's like a scene from cheers, when you walk in everyone know your name. John and Andy from parts are awesome people, I can't even begin to tell you all the help they have been. Angel and Brett over in service always looking out for your ride making sure it's all running up to par.
