I had an appointment at 1:00pm and when I arrived, I was informed that they were running behind. No problem. As I was waiting, I was called to the receptionist area three times. The first time, she wanted to verify that I signed in, which I did. The next time, I signed the disclaimer and the last time she asked did I have particular student to perform the services. I said anyone who is available. An hour goes by, and a student who was trying to assist the front area asked me if I was a walk in and I stated no. She went to check on the status. She came and informed me that the person who was assigned to me had a client because I didn't answer when my name was I called. I informed that my name was called three times and each time I checked in with the receptionist. The student informed me that she informed another student who was available and she should be calling me shortly. As I was waiting, the light skinned receptionist asked my name. I gave it and informed her that I had an appointment. At this time it is after 2:00pm. At 2:30, I tell another receptionist with burgundy her that I am canceling my appointment. She asked me to scratch my name out on the clipboard. We'll, to my surprise, it was scratched out. I brought this to her attention. She tells me that my name was called and I didn't answer. I informed her that my name was called three times and I came to the front each time. She asked if I would like to schedule an appointment for next week, absolutely not. There are too many people going in and out of the reception area. I would rather pay more money for services than to have my time wasted.​​ read more

I got a haircut and braids here. I when getting my haircut she took off too much hair and didn't section anything just free cut, seemed lazy. When I got my hair shampooed the chair and bowl were uncomfortable When I got my braids they were too big after telling them they were for a wig and they didn't put any product on my hair I asked if she could redo 2 of the big braids at the top and she said it would be another $35 I wouldn't go here, try Paul Mitchell instead read more

I understand this is a beauty school,but when an instructor is on the level with a student it's hard to get good service. My last color service went way wrong due to instructor not keeping a grip on her student. If the instructor would have at least checked the students work before I left I wouldn't have to write this review. This particular student made far to many mistakes to be left alone. If there weren't so much bragging going on by this student things wouldn't be as painful. Also, thanks goes to Mr. Avery for not setting a good example for the student and the school to resolve the problem. read more

I wish I could give 2.5 stars. I went for a mani pedi and there was good and bad. The good: The manicurist was very sweet. She was attentive and wanted to make sure I was happy with everything. The price is amazing. $5 for a manicure $10 for a pedicure. I also like the idea of helping out a student with their education. The bad: Limited polish selection. Plus the polish they use isn't all that great. they Use a brand called ONS. If I go back I'll bring my own polish... if...because she took 3 HOURS to give me a manicure and pedicure. I understand these are students but it still shouldn't have taken that long. I do want to go back to try some of the other services ($3 kids cut) and maybe get my nails done again. I went here to get a shampoo and flat iron. Let me just say i was not pleased with the service. I know a beauty shop is the place to go gossip and have girl talk. Talking negatively about the school and other students in front of clients isn't ok. My thing is if you're gonna talk about the school and the students you have issues with at least make sure you are doing my hair correctly. I came there with my head itchy and puffy and thats the same way i left. When she was shampooing my hair she wasn't getting all of my head and when she was flat ironing my hair she grabbed big sections of my hair to flat iron it. I sat in that chair only to be disappointed with the results. Had she spent less time talking and walking around gossiping and more focused on the customers there may have been better services. read more

This is the 2nd time I've attempted to go to the evening student salon and there has been an issue. It's only when the big black lady with the gap is there; she picks and chooses when she wants to cut off even though the sign clearly says they are open until 9:30 on Thursday. I got there around 7:05 for a 7:15 appointment just for her to tell me she cut off at 6pm (last time it was 7)and already had all of the people they were going to service. I explained to her that Id made an appointment and she never even bothered the check, just kept repeating she was done. I said what was the point of me bothering to make an appointment and wasting my time coming out here if they don't go by the schedule. I was only getting a shampoo/ blow dry for my daughter that wouldn't have taken nothing but 30-45 mins. Plus, the person I scheduled with over the phone told me that the cut off time for evenings was 7:50. Apparently they need to get their wires straightened, because the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing over there. Do yourself a favor and go up the street to Paul Mitchell. They are a bit pricier but they did a beautiful job with my baby's hair, and at least everyone is friendly and knows what time they close. read more

I will never return back to this place or recommend this place. The receptionists and teachers are rude, unprofessional, mean, and cocky. They don't appreciate your business. A girl told me to come get my hair done and when I arrived, they had her doing busy work. I called this rude receptionist back with blue hair. She said I could return a later time and I did. The teacher said she still wasn't available and looked at me crazy. I started to go off, but I didn't. I had to leave. I loathe this place. Also, a student was supposed to cut my hair and she didn't. I didn't see any hair on floor. Just awful.... Please dont go!! read more
