This place has terrible management. They threw a bunch of kids out from a day care because they had to make 22 kid trays. The lady paid for them, it's not like they were giving them to them. They called the cops to have them removed. The Jackson police department handled the situation terribly as well. I will never go back to this theater, despite it being one that I have went to many times over the past year. The only way to save this place is to get some new managment. read more

First time at this theater. Ended up going here because they have ICEE. A lot of theaters in the area don't have it so I was excited to be able to finally get one at this theater. It's on the smaller side of theaters and make sure you get there early to get you snacks because the line moved extra slow even though there were three cashiers open. Tickets are about $12 each and I mean movie tickets are expensive anyways but this is cheaper then where I usually go. The nachos come in a bag and you get two bags and some cheese. I would recommend getting extra cheese if you're a cheese lover. The popcorn if you get it fresh is really good. It's movie popcorn can't go wrong there. The seats were pretty comfortable they recline which is a plus and they have trays to put your food and drink in which is a total win. The bathroom could have used some cleaning. But overall a nice place to watch a movie especially if you need to get an ICEE. read more

This is a cool theater, literally and figuratively - it's so cold in the theaters that I had to ask them to turn off the AC! The employees were really kind and helped a girl out. Prices are a little high at $12 a pop, but try to go on Tuesdays for $7 tickets. The screen and sound are great, but I wish the seat handles in between seats lifted up! There's no cuddle potential here! They do have trays, though, if you want to snack during your movie. Go watch The Joker! read more

My family was visiting from Arizona & very hopeful for a great movie experience. However; we were met with employees that were not afraid of showing that they wanted nothing more than to not be working. They were rude once asked any type of question. Our theatre wasn't ready until 15 minutes before the start time, where the seats & tray tops were still disgusting. When brought up, the employees were undeniably rude. This seemed to be the atmosphere for the whole employee base minus one girl. The employees had horrible customer service. I will not be back, nor recommend to anyone visiting. We live in Jackson and this is the newest theatre in town, however the seats are already worn and broken in several theaters. Also, the cost for refreshments is astronomical. When ordering the cashier can't tell you how much a popcorn & large drink will be without inputting it into the register. Last time we went I noticed no prices are posted which I feel should be required. Only good thing I can say is on Tuesday they charge $7 per ticket! to watch a movie which is the only reason we go. read more

I know that this theater has only been open a few weeks but it is drastically different from the run down theaters the Jackson area is accustomed to. There is a full grill menu (burgers, fries and hot dogs) as well as beer available. I did not try the food so I can not review it's quality. Reserved seating was nice and it's first come first serve at the time of ticket purchases. So no seat saving. You will have an assigned numbered seat. So if you're coming with a group -- plan ahead. You can also purchase tickets online, in-person or at the kiosks available in theater. Seats are wide set, leather, power recliners with attached tray tables. Very comfy. Also, handicap spaces are available that are actually mid-level instead of the very first row like other theaters. Rows are extra wide to accommodate a walkway even with seats fully reclined. Facilities are clean and I hope they stay that way! Customer service was mediocre -- I had to ask two different people for napkin dispenser refills before being just handed a roll of paper towels when I purchased my popcorn. All in all, I highly recommend this theater for its cleanliness and amenities. read more

We had a wonderful experience planning and hosting my daughters birthday movie party at the empire 8 theater. The theater was very comfortable with wonderful seating. The manager and staff were great! They made sure we had everything we needed for the party. Their service went above and beyond. Today was our first visit to the new Empire 8 Theater. The interior is clean and beautiful. The theaters are clean. My low rating is due to the lack of sound insulation. We were watching "The Kitchen" and the the sound from the theater next door was very loud. It was a scary movie, and you could hear all of frightening moments. It was very distracting. Theater was okay got there and the internet wasn't working so they couldn't accept any cards only Cash. Theater seats very comfortable and screen was a good size. We went to a regular showing. Still kids loved it. Would have gotten a better rating if staff was a bit friendlier and only had $20 in cash and the total for food was $21 and some change which was ridiculously for just a fountain drink, a popcorn and a candy box and they wouldn't not discount the meal cause of the inconvenience for not having internet and not being able to accept bank cards. So my daughter was left disappointed that she couldn't get her favorite candy cause of the cashier not being able to accept cards. So Theater was good but Customer service needs work. read more

Let me begin by saying I'm sorry this review is long but this reflects the three times that I have attended empire 8 movie theater. I enjoy going to the theater it is beautifully made there seats are so comfortable but Unfortunately you can hear the movie next to us! Then, I keep making the mistake of eating there. Not only is the service vert slow but The food is semi-OK provided They can ever get your order in a timely manner. If the food continues this way I will either try other theaters new seating or just not purchase anything from the concessions anymore. The first time I ordered my food we got lucky because we went on a Tuesday and there was not very many people in attendance so the line wasn't as long but the food wait at your seat service still took a long time and all I ordered was some loaded nachos. When I received my nachos with all the chips small and broken up in a big piled with very little cheese and meat on them and they didn't bother to bring a fork since that's what I needed to use to even pick them up because they were too small to eat with your fingers. My The 3rd time I went back to the theater I ordered a hamburger and fries it took us about a good 20 minutes standing in line just to order. I also learned to get your receipt because your food might never show up which is what happened to me on this order. Anyway after 20 minutes of standing in line for our order we went into see the movie and there was gum in my seat or some type of spill but I sucked it up and sat there because it was so much confusion already with other people sitting in our seats. The family said sorry we are probably sitting in your seats then she moved over to someone else's seats and when the other paying customers came more confusion and noise because her and her family had to keep moving all over the theater sitting in other peoples seats. It made me wonder did they even have tickets for the show? It was very disruptive to people who did pay money for their seats trying to enjoy the movie. Then I had to get up after seeing the movie was almost over and missed key parts of the movie going to see where my food was. Instead of apologizing the child said that I was not in my seat and I told her that was not true especially since I pre-ordered and picked my seats out online and I was definitely in my own seat particularly since I had the confusion of someone else sitting in our family's seats. We thought earlier when an attendant came in to deliver food and still late might I add it was a different order since she was on the last row in the back. Maybe the food attendant should learn which row are the correct rows since you work there that might help instead of telling us I'm in the wrong seat. The upsetting part was that is She left our food with some people on a different row and they took it and my husband heard them say they didn't order that but she still gave them the order, so I guess she was giving out free food That we paid for. Anyway She got me a quick order I guess she microwaved something and i was a little hesitant about eating after all of that. When i got back into movie it was almost over and i was lost on what was going on! So bad when you go to a movie to have a great experience. read more

Love, love, love the comfortable electric reclining seats! I have a spine injury and was very comfortable throughout a 2.5 hour movie! The only thing preventing me from giving this five stars was the food. This was our first time here, and we had expected the same premium experience we had at the Movie Tavern we frequented while living in Georgia. MT provides wait service for concessions directly to your theater seat, via small lighted buttons on the tables. Not so here. You stand in line to order, and if you order anything that needs to be cooked, it arrives later via wait staff. Apparently, *much* later, as staff began delivering food a little over halfway into the movie. We only ordered popcorn and soft drinks, so we carried our own into the theater. Soft drinks were fine, however the "buttered" popcorn was cold and tasted as if a huge vat of salt had been added. The topping tasted only of cheap vegetable oil and no butter, real or flavoring. The popcorn was mostly half-popped kernels. I expected more for the admission and concession prices! $21 for a large (cold and greasy) popcorn and two watery soft drinks. read more

This is the best theatre around!! The manager there today, Antavious, came out so that we could be taken care of efficiently and effectively. He took his time and to make sure our order was correct. The cook, Sean, delivered the food to our seat with an excellent attitude. He even provided extra napkins and forks! The seats worked without a problem, and everything is completely sanitary. This theater was AWFUL from the seating to the food. The food was vey overpriced and tasted like it was frozen food that had been microwaved (hamburger). The taste was very bland with NO condiments. For the price, it should have included tomato, lettuce, pickle, etc. It seemed like the burger came from a plastic bag and was put in a microwave. The fries were hard with no taste. The pulled pork BBQ was basically chips smothered in BBQ sauce. This was absolutely the worst food in a movie bistro that I have experienced. I could not figure out why the parking lot was so empty for a new venue with recliner seats. The food or food service will not draw anyone to the place. The recliner seats were ok The treater was cold with the AC on with 40 degree temps outside. The workers were kids (get a pass on young people) but they were not trained properly. I will never go to this theater again. As I left the theater, I passed the "older" theater and it was packed. I guess they figured it out also. read more

Theater is clean (it's new), but I went and saw John Wick 3 and unfortunately listened to the soundtrack of Aladdin (playing on the screen next to me) the entire time. This really ruins the atmosphere each individual movie is trying to create when we can clearly hear the other movie playing next to us. I suggest better sound insulation between each individual theater inside. I'll unfortunately have to look elsewhere until this is fixed as it is a major deterrent for me. read more
