I agree with others that one star is extremely generous. CASH ONLY, this place is a "cash only business" and unless they move to the 21st century, they should be OUT of business. Staff can't even spell "customer service". The last two experiences, I have encountered staff who were borderline rude and certainly did not seem interested in offering a pleasant moviegoing experience. I will not be going back. read more

My cousin told me that this is fairly new theater since they closed Jackson Regal Cinema. I wasn't sure what to expect of this theater. From the outside, it seemed like a fancy theater with the lighted sign. However, once on the inside, it was very basic and needed an upgrade of some sort. They have two concession stands. The first one is located to the left, when you first come into the theater, and the second one, is around the corner to the right, near the exit. There were video arcade games as well. The popcorn was pretty good. It had enough butter and salt so I didn't have to add any additional seasoning. I was impressed with the rooms. There was stadium seating and a wide screen projection. The leather seats were comfortable. I was confused by set up though. You can access the seats only from the left side. The Bistro wasn't open when I was there, but I'm definitely interested in knowing more about how it works and trying it out. I'm not sure if there is an IMAX screen or if there are any special features to the movie screens like I've seen in other theaters across the state. read more

Wow! I'm just going to lay it out there. 1. Filthy! Trash, food and debris scattered all over the lobby. 2. Employees uniforms look like they have not been washed in weeks. 3. The employees have as much personality as a rock. 4. Cash only business. 5. Popcorn is stale and the hotdogs looked like jerky. Other than that it's great. Ehh ... shutdwn in jackson tn movie theater was not to far from the truck stop so I figured my partner and I could use some away time.... the popcorn had to be at least two or three days old im serious it was pre popped and put in bags also on weekdays they dont open til 4pm... the people saw us outside standing at 4pm and still didnt open door until after 4 when they felt like it... i suggest you check out another i only give them two stars on the account they were walking distance to truck stop GOOD LUCK read more

We like coming to this theater. It's clean, tickets are $6 each, not crowded, and comfortable seats. It's also nice to have a theater on that side of town if you want to avoid Vann Drive. There are a few areas appearing to age, but for the price, it's hard to beat. read more

The management of this theatre is horrible. The theaters are dirty and are not routinely cleaned after use. The popcorn is subpar and no free refills, despite paying a small fortune for it. Cinema Planet 10 - Cinema Near Me - Jackson, Tennessee

Like the other movie theaters in Jackson, Cinema Planet 10 aspires to a low level and succeeds. CP10 is a recently constructed theater on the edge of town. I have to say that parts of the theater and what it has to offer are pretty nice. But the bad far outweighs the good, hence the 2 star review. The Good: Newly constructed building. New everything. Nice sunlit lobby. Cafe area with tables and chairs where patrons can sit and chat. A bar. Yes, I said a bar. Booze at the movies. Now there's an innovation at least for Jackson. Restrooms (at least the Mens) are clean, the soap dispensers full and the hand dryers are fully operational. Nice tile on the walls too. In my four visits I have only been in two of the theaters - #8 a large one and #2 very small. Both were satisfactory. Nice plush leather upholstered seats. Clean. The screens were a good size. I did not notice any sound penetrating the walls from the other theaters. Finally, while the patrons were waiting for the movie to start a staff member came in and offered us all menus. Wow. The Bad - The Very Bad: Of the four movies I have gone to see there two were stopped due to technical problems. Both times the outage was so long that people (including me) left. The last time was this past Friday. When two other patrons and myself asked for a refund the manager became defensive and argumentative. He did give the refunds but he was kind of a jerk about it. Two of the movies I have seen or attempted to see at CP10 were 3D. Their 3D projection leaves something to be desired. The first 3D movie I saw here was "Thor" last summer. It kept bothering me that the image was a little out of focus. You know how if you take off your 3D glasses the you see several images on the screen? When you put on the glasses it makes all those images come together. For whatever reason that did not happen, so the entire movie was slightly out of focus. I have seen a lot of 3D movies in a lot of theaters and I have never seen this. I though it was just "Thor." I had read about some critics complaining about movie studios doing quick, poor quality 3D work to cash in on the 3D fad. I thought that might be it. Then I went to see "Green Lantern" and the projection was also out of focus. Then the screen went blank and silent for about 10 minutes. No explanation given. I took a chance on seeing another 3D movie, "Beauty and the Beast." Same projection problem. I have seen a lot of 3D movies in a lot of theaters and CP10 is the only one where the image was not crisp and in focus. Major points off for this. Friday I went to see "Haywire" and the screen went blank for a very long time. I left and so did some others. Finally, the architect who designed this place needs his/her knuckles wrapped. You remember the nice sun filled lobby I mentioned earlier? Well at least one of the theaters (#8- the big one) are layed out so that the sun shines through the theater entrance and onto the screen. The lower 1/8th left side of the screen has sort of a lighted rectangle shining on it. This is especially annoying during "night" scenes during the movie. Who designs a theater without taking into consideration that the SCREEN should be the brightest object in the room? read more

Prob the best theater in Jackson but if you go after the first showing of the day expect a dirty unclean theater. Last time I went to a movie here we walked in the screen and the room had the strongest urine odor. Please hire ushers and teach them how to clean and sweep popcorn. This place has the potential to soar. It's outside of town, large, has a bistro, and is NEW. Very little wear and tear here. Unfortunately, that is where the goodness ends. The staff are so indifferent that they don't even look you in the eye, the look like they are talking to the invisible person behind you. The bistro is completely empty, which I suspect is because of the terrible service. The theater seats, while they look 'rich' being pleather, are a terrible choice, as the pleather rubs against itself on other chairs, completely ruining the movie ambiance and angering those around you. Plus they don't hinge between the seat and back, they pivot underneath the seat, but if you want to lean back, your legs are going to shift toward the ceiling as well. Theaters are generally small, but I expect that isn't a big deal since it clearly doesn't get much foot traffic. Someone needs to buy this place up and revamp it staff-wise. This place could rock if someone actually gave a rip if it succeeded or not. Sad, sad waste of space. read more

I have had mostly good experiences with Cinema Planet. The original owners ran it a whole lot better than the folks that own it now. (Now the same folks own all the theaters in town). I am giving the four stars based on: 1. Ticket Prices... (They really are reasonable. I realize all of the theaters in town charge the same amount, but have you tried seeing a movie outside of Jackson? Holy cow it is expensive now). 2. Comfortable seating. (Really, it is a LOT better than the other options in town. Leather is better). 3. Concession prices. (Yes, the prices aren't crazy good, but they aren't as crazy horrible as I have experienced out of town.) 4. It's new, clean, and attractive, and dangit, that actually counts for a lot in Jackson. On the other hand: 1. It's time for refills at the theater on all drinks. 2. It's time for one of those cool drink machines that provides multiple options and multiple flavor add-ons. 3. It's time for employees to be a little more invested in customer service. 4. It is time for them to stop pre-making popcorn and including the hulls. This really sucks that they bag a bunch of popcorn and include the inedible stuff. 5. It's time to take the food menu seriously and put a real restaurant in there where people can dine without going to a movie. Really. Make people want to go here for the excellent food. read more

He snatched my money out of my hand and then basically threw it back at me. They are unclean and unkept and don't deserve a job if they can't even look up off their phone when a customer walks up. My wife and I decided to go to this place for a date night. Man was that a mistake. We thought it would be a good idea to have dinner at the same place we were going to watch a movie. Well, if you are a theater and a restaurant you should do at least one well. This place had horrible food that was basically from a microwave and the theater was subpar. Over the last couple weeks, we've excitedly driven ALL THE WAY to this theater (about 40 minutes) to find that it is CLOSED. Interestingly enough, there were 10 or so cars in the parking lot, but all the doors were locked. Lights flashing inside, but nobody to be seen. Concession stand looked closed, with no popcorn in the machine. Digital displays on the front of the building had "Windows Error" on them. No sign on the door, nothing. We went to the other theater (owned by same people) and mentioned this to a manager, who was completely surprised and "have no idea" why they weren't open. I would expect that a movie theatre that maintains its own Showtimes on its own website, would BE OPEN when it says a movie is playing. My guess is that, due to the owner and managements mis-treatment of their employees, that they didn't have the staff, or the staff walked out or something. It really is a shame, it's a nice theatre with good projection and decent sound. Too bad I can't trust to drive all the way up there to find it's closed, so I won't be returning. read more

The theater was so cold, the patrons were unable to enjoy the movie. When I went out to ask the staff about the temp, I was told there was nothing they could do about it and the manager wouldn't adjust it even if he was there. The plus side is that "at the moment" you have good comfortable seats. The bad side is that concessions were stale, there were no trash cans in the men's facility, and you purchase tickets on one end and walk to the far end to enter. Since I don't have small children, walking past a bar really isn't an issue, but I don't think I would have wanted to waltz my small ones past a bunch of booze on my way to watch a kid flick. read more

Took my husband for Fathers day. I love the theater; the seating is comfortable, and the place still looks new. Unfortunately, I think new management is a good idea. I hope this review gets to the owner somehow, because this place is a money maker and has the potential to make so much more. Customer service is something that can attract or retract people, and what I see here is not good. I brought my husband right after church with the thought that we could get a burger while we were there. Didn't happen, they said it was closed. Moving over the the concession area, there is one young lady trying to do register, sodas, and popcorn (everything) by herself, while another person is wiping down the windows? Why was she not helping in concessions? Then I spot the manager (so I think something is going to change), he brings some lids from somewhere THEN he proceeds to fill bags of popcorn....HE DIDN'T WASH HIS HANDS!! I just had to walk away. I was so disappointed with the situation. The movie was fantastic, the area was clean, the room temperature was comfortable. The owner needs to make some adjustments. It would be better for him financially, and everyone (well most everyone) would be happier when the left. Looking at these reviews, something should have been done by now. read more

TERRIBLE PRE-POPPED POPCORN!!!!!! If you like stale cold popcorn that was made the night before, then this is the place for you. We asked for fresh popcorn, and they finally made some for us. My husband wanted to get hot dog, and was told it would be at least 30 min, before they would be warm enough to serve. DO NOT GO TO THE 1st MATINEE show. Apparently, all the employees arrive about 30 seconds before it is time to sell tickets! If the management had everyone arrive say 1/2 hour before the 1st show started, this would be an o.k. place. The few times we've been there, the movie was WAY out of focus, and my husband had to go complain to get it fixed! The manager "Andre" is VERY condescending!! He berated, belittled, and was VERY rude to his employee! We watched him as we were buying tickets! I could tell that the young man giving us our tickets was very uncomfortable and upset by the way he was being talked to!!!! He talked in a very vexatious way IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS! Sadly as a family people want to see the new movie " Son of God". But because of the bar most will not be attending. It is not appropriate to have a bar in a place where children are present.
