Been coming here off an on for years ! They get to know you by name and are super hilarious. The men give the best massages for pedicures. I only say 4 star instead of 5, cause it's more of a functional nail place than spa spa like. For a quick no nonsense relaxing pedi or mani or acrylics come here. I am not a nail expert but I find the service and quality at Emma's to be on par with any nail salon in town. They are usually very busy however if I call for a fill they ALWAYS accommodate me the same day and within 1 or 2 hours. Smart bet is to call rather than walk in and they will fit you in promptly. I usually get white French tips but whenever I want a colour or some bling the selection is very wide and they have the colour in stock. I was able to get an appointment the day-of even though they were quite busy! Service was great - even though they knew I was in a hurry they did a good job. They had a great selection of colors to choose from. Price was reasonable for getting gel polish. I would come back when I'm in Vernon again. read more

I'm never blown away here. My nails look okay but are not finished well, the technicians here are not meticulous about their work. I also had some waxing done and needed to point out w few places where she had missed, but she continued to question me instead of just fixing the problem. The lotion they use after waxing is pretty slimy, and I left with my face feeling pretty gross. Also, it seemed like she didn't know some of the basics of waxing that even I know. I wouldn't return here again. Every time I come home to Vernon I give them another try, but the prices they charge are just not worth the service they give. read more

Some of the staff are very good at doing nails, but when your business is nails you need to actually have nail polish. They give you the colour "wheels" for gel polish (actually shellac) with 100s of colors but they never have the actual colour. They have maybe one or two colours of each kind and try to convince you that one of those is "close enough" to the one you chose. Of course you're already stuck in the middle of a manicure before they let you know that in fact they have nothing even close to the colour you chose at the outset. I ended up looking like I had bubble gum colour on my nails instead of a normal pale pink. The manager (if that's who he was) was condescending and rude - telling me it was silly to expect the nail polish to actually look like the color chosen. Umm, that's kind of the point. Their hygiene is also sketchy - if you want the pedicure station clean they charge you extra for a liner, otherwise they just do a quick rinse. When you compare prices don't forget this is one of the few places around that charge you extra to remove gel polish with a gel polish manicure. Bottom line, way too expensive for a bargain basement run operation. read more

Do not go here!!!. They are lying to you when they say they are giving you gel nails. They may also be lying about what they are actually putting on your nails. ACRYLIC -Characteristics are the following- *A POWDER and a LIQUID are mixed together and polymerize as it dries to create a tough coating. The technical chemical name for the FDA approved acrylic that reputable salons use is called ETHYL Methacrylate.If you have nails on that were built with a powder and a liquid then you have ACRYLIC NAILS ON!! GEL-Characteristics are the following- *A substance that comes in semi liquid, sticky GEL form in a small tub like container that is applied to the nail and cured under a light. If you have this product on your nails then you have GEL NAILS -If the nail techs are using a product that is out of an unmarked or non labeled bottle, ASK TO SEE A BOTTLE WITH A LABEL and if they do not have a marked bottle to show you the ingredients PLEASE, Use common sense & WALK OUT OF THE SALON!! ethyl Methacrylate(MMA) is an industrial product used to make hard plastic... people are not supposed to have this product applied to their nails.. It was banned by the FDA 20 years ago! It has made a huge resurgence in the last 5-10 yrs. People can develop allergic reactions very quickly to MMA. It can also cause nerve damage, tingling & burning to ones nails and cuticles. It is so hard that when it breaks, It will almost always break the natural nail underneath causing painful damage Why, You ask, are discount salons using MMA? Because it is approximately a third (or less) of the price of FDA Approved Ethyl Methacrylate. It's all about the $$$, Sadly like a lot of things in this world today. Please educate yourselves (reading this to the end was a great way to do that. read more

I found their cleanliness questionable. There were used nail files that came out of back pockets! The totes that they put their tools in were dirty. There was NO conversation between myself & the tech doing my feet, in fact he grunted & pointed to the water or patted the footrest. There was plenty of conversation & laughter between the staff but not in English! A pedicure is supposed to be pleasurable and make you feel special but I felt rushed & unimportant. I had been visiting from out of town and went in for a pedicure and was absolutely mortified by the technician that I had. I had come in with feet that were badly blistered from a camping trip and had quite a bit of dead skin on my feet. The technician was obviously disgusted by it and made it very publically known that they were. I was absolutely mortified and actually left my appointment in tears. The technician attempted to remove the dead skin off and when it wasn't working he raised his voice and made it known to all around that there was a lot of dead skin there and that he couldn't get it all. He used the cuticle clippers to try and cut it off, and I was absolutely mortified when he continued to wipe the dead skin off on my legs and tell me that there was too much, instead of wiping it off on a towel. I finally had to tell him to stop and leave it. I have been getting pedicures on a monthly basis for the last 15 years and have NEVER been treated so unprofessionally in my life. When I emailed the manager, I was told that the technician might have made comments to tease me but not to make fun of me. And was welcomed to come in to make amends with the particular technician. I was baffled by the response and will never be going back. read more

I went for a pedicure because had a gift cert. No one asked me how i was, no one tried to make any conversation. i felt like they just wanted to get it done and get me out. The staff talked to each other but very little to the customers. The pedicure was fine( I can do an equal job at home) but the customer service was lacking.I was disappointed with this experience.
