Update: if I could give this place less than 1 star I would. Gave my dog the sweet potato treat…read morelast night (same day it was purchased) in small pieces in portions. Made sure she didn't eat it all at once. She woke us up at 6am yacking up the sweet potato and left orange vomit everywhere. No idea if it was old or bad but stay away. Honestly what a disappointment. You can get everything there at any other pet store. There's nothing local or unique. Some Grateful Dead toys but they're from a brand. Some slightly more elevated brands that maybe you can't find at PetSmart but that's it. The girl working the counter was incredibly rude. She was on the phone talking loudly for at least 5 minutes. Said she was talking to her boss to a customer she was ringing up at the register but then talked about personal stuff on the phone. The store is very small and cramped. Even though it's a pet store it's not dog friendly. The girl never acknowledged my dog. I asked if they had any local baked dog treats like most small individual dog stores do, she pointed me to a shelf of big brand dog treats. I clarified and she was clueless and then said no. Waited at the register to buy something and she was looking at paperwork on a clipboard even though we were directly in front of her with our wallet out. Asked for a sweet potato treat. She shoves the container from her side of the counter at us. I asked for a bag for it. She expected me to go in there with my hands and take it. Immediately started ignoring us after we paid. It's a cute name but that's about it.

Amazing store, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Can't recommend this pet store enough.read more

I adopted my formerly feral cat, Snickers, in 2020 from the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA…read more When I took him home, he was up to date with his vaccinations, medical checks as a healthy neutered 9 yr old DSH. I sang 'You are My Sunshine' while driving back to Kingston to his furever home. He looked at me as if his Birth Mother had finally found him. In 2003, I brought him to my local Petco for his next Rabies vaccination. The visit went well. He has a laid back, friendly personality. He was comfortable around new human friends. We visited the same Petco on March 27, 2026 for another Rabies vaccine after I made a same day appointment with Ayha at the front desk. We got an appointment mid-afternoon. When we checked in I asked if Snickers' nails could be clipped as well. He's a strong cat. I feed him raw chicken breast as it is less expensive than a 3.5 lb bag of Science Diet for 11+ Seniors. After introductions with Snickers, Ayha and Dr Kristen Erickson, I also noted that Snickers appears to have ear mites. He was whisked away to the treatment room for about 20 minutes. When I was called to join Snickers and the medical team in the treatment room, Ayha was cradling Snickers in her arms. Dr Erickson reported that Snickers, in fact, had an ear infection. His ears had been cleaned. No more black gunk. There's a liquid medicine to drop into each ear. Snickers' behavior during his nail clipping, vaccine injection to his thigh and various poking around with the stethoscope for his heart beat and lung sounds was reportedly uneventful. Snickers does not cooperate with me when I attempt to clip his nails. He wriggles out of my arms and walks away. I'm grateful to the staff at Petco for maintaining my cat's trust in them. He was tired when we got home after thoroughly cleaning the area on his leg where he received the injection. He flinches when I administer his ear drops.

Very disappointed in Petco customer service today. I love coming to walk in services from 2-6pm…read morewith the grooming department. I waited 20 minutes for anyone to even greet me at check i. I understand this isn't the groomers fault, as I was told they only schedule one groomer during this time. Why offer a service for an extended period of time if you don't have the staff to handle it? I was appalled by how the "manager" reacted once he approached the grooming station to help another customer from the front of the store. He completely disregarded myself, as well as another customer who were patiently waiting for a long time. Beforehand, I even tried calling the grooming department over the phone to see if anyone would answer or come help us since no one else was seen to be working at the time. After ignoring us, I asked the manager if anyone is available for grooming. The man was very short and dismissive saying he was helping another customer. He also said he cannot answer the phone calls because he doesn't work in grooming. I didn't understand this because if he claims to be the "manager", why can't he answer a phone call regardless of the department? He also said he wouldn't go check in with the groomer because he was with another customer and assumed the groomer was too busy. I arrived before 5pm, and it wasn't until 5:25 that the "manager" came back and even went back to see if the groomer was there. I am a loyal rewards member, member of VETCO, and long time repeat customer of the store as well as grooming. I have never seen this man before but I was disgusted by his lack of care for customers, his unprofessional attitude, as well as disregard for the business. I will be contacting corporate in regards to this man as well. I asked for his name and all he did was scribble and it wasn't legible to read, when I asked him to repeat his name or rewrite it he snapped "this is my handwriting" and walked away. A wonderful woman from the vet came out with her own dog to see if we were okay, and calm our nerves. If this ever happens again, I will be canceling my monthly petco membership and taking my business elsewhere. I'm sorry for other customers, as well as employees that have to deal with dismissive disrespect in a place that used to be welcoming. I asked the groomer as well if she was familiar with that man who claimed to be the "manager" and she said she wasn't sure and wasn't familiar with him to even know his name as well. He wasn't wearing any type of name tag but this is what I made out from his scribble, ARISTOS
