I called right away and the lady at the desk was great and made sure i got in for the time that I was attempting online. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment as I figured there would be paperwork. I was right. Just one page for information. My appointment was at 1:15 and was greeted to go back to the room about 5 min or so after that. The rooms are very clean and well kept. There is nice set up for the different procedure they do there. I ordered a couple different things. Hannah who was my cerologist was fantastic. They use a wax there that doesn't really stick to the skin. It was great cause I didnt turn red like I did before from other waxings. She was very nice and talked to me during the procedure. She made sure that I was happy with what she did. She wanted me to make sure that I told her if there was anything that I wasn't happy with. We had a few laughs as everything was getting done. I went home feeling good. It was great that everything went so smoothly so to speak. They did sell me a skin treatment to help with any skin issues after the procedure was completed. Everything looked great when I got home. I am pretty happy with the entire experience all around. The pricing was decent cause i got 50% off the most expensive procedure. Ill have to start saving up for the next time. I did get a text a day later asking for feedback. I rated them on the text but wanted to give my feedback here.

The service began with a close-up look at our scalp and hair follicles under a microscope--something I'd never done before. Anna walked us through everything we were seeing and explained what was going on with our scalp health. (Mine was dry and flaky, which I suspected, but seeing it up close was eye-opening!) She then recommended specific treatments to help correct the issues. The treatment itself? Pure bliss. If you're someone who lives for that hair-washing moment at the salon, this takes it to a whole new level. We enjoyed a luxurious scalp massage, upper body and leg massage, plus a facial--all included in the service. The atmosphere was peaceful and calming, and we both left feeling completely relaxed. The best part? You get to look at your scalp again afterward, and the difference was noticeable--less buildup, cleaner follicles, and a much healthier look overall. My hair feels softer and cleaner than it ever has. Truly. The price was more than reasonable for everything included. Thank you so much, Anna! We'll definitely be back--and we're already recommending this to everyone we know.

My haircut is fairly simple, but I've seen firsthand the work she does with women's hair through several close friends who go to her, and she is incredibly talented -- precise, consistent, and thoughtful in her approach. You can tell she truly cares about her clients and takes real pride in her craft. She's also great at consulting with me on the right products, personalized specifically for my hair and skin. Their brand new location in the Atlas Building in West Des Moines is stunning. The space is beautifully designed -- elegant, refined, and thoughtfully done while still feeling welcoming and comfortable. It's conveniently located, easy to access, and truly elevates the entire experience. The team is always professional and welcoming, and the level of service is consistently top tier. I also appreciate that they've expanded their services beyond what was offered at the West Glen location -- it really feels like a full-service destination now. Another big plus is their use of Aveda products. They're excellent for sensitive skin, made with naturally derived ingredients, and the brand is known for environmentally responsible practices and more sustainable packaging. I personally purchase both Aveda hair and skincare products from Serenity, and they always have a great selection in stock. I have been four times since I moved…read moreto Des Moines and have had four different stylists (I normally don't get my hair cut more than once a year, but after pregnancy I've had to go more frequently). Every single one has been absolutely amazing, both talent wise and personality wise. This last time really stuck in my mind. Being a new mom, things are already stressful enough. Being in a city where I have no family, limited friends, semi-new, and a husband who travels weekly for work- finding a babysitter many times isn't an option. So normally, I don't plan anything. But I was wanting something new, and dying to get out of the house for something besides work or a doctor's appointment, so I decided to try to go out with a five-month old. Not only was she screaming, she was clawing, angry, and teething. I felt SO embarrassed and even considered asking to reschedule, even though my hair was already covered in foil. My stylist, Ashley, as well as all the other stylists AND other customers were absolutely amazing. Ashley reassured me over and over that it was okay, she was incredibly patient, and showed me several places to feed my daughter, change her, etc. One of the other stylists played with her while I was getting my hair cut, and even another customer walked her around. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness and patience, especially as someone who is just trying to understand mommyhood while being in a city away from my friends and family. Oh, and btw, my hair looks awesome, as it always does after I visit here :) Definitely will continue coming here- hopefully, alone next time :)
