Prices are much more reasonable than a corporate owned veterinary practice (like VCA hospitals). Both Dr McGraw and her staff have always been exceptionally kind and considerate, and have taken excellent care of my dog. Dr McGraw is very thorough, skilled, and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with their service and wouldn't ever dream of switching to another primary vet.

Absolutely disgraceful experience. My family has trusted this clinic for years, but after their…read morerecent behavior, we will never return. We urge others to be extremely cautious. We prepaid $180 for a simple checkup appointment for our small dog. When a work emergency forced us to reschedule, they demanded we pay a second $180 just to book again, with no credit, no transfer, and no service rendered. When we rightfully refused to be scammed out of double payment, they retaliated by "firing" not only our small dog, but also my completely unrelated dog who needs regular seizure care. Firing an innocent, medically fragile dog simply because you are angry at a client is beyond unethical. It is cruel. They also charge extra money just to print a physical prescription, something that should be a basic patient right. Everything about this place feels greedy, callous, and untrustworthy. If you value transparency, fairness, and true care for your pets, look elsewhere. This hospital is all about maximizing profits at the direct expense of the animals and families they are supposed to be helping. We will be reporting them to the Idaho Veterinary Board and strongly encourage others who have had similar experiences to do the same. In response to your reply : --------------------------------------- First, your claim that we paid $100 instead of $180 directly contradicts the transaction records we have. If there's a discrepancy, we're happy to provide receipts showing the amount we were charged. It's not acceptable to retroactively minimize the payment amount when this figure was part of our concern. Second, the prepayment policy and 48-hour cancellation window were never clearly communicated to us before payment. If it was truly a strict and enforceable policy, it should have been disclosed upfront in writing, especially for a first-time prepayment. Transparency matters. Third, firing both our dogs -- especially one who requires routine seizure medication and had nothing to do with the situation -- comes across as punitive and unethical. Whether or not we asked for records to be forwarded, that doesn't justify cutting off medical care to a vulnerable animal. This action supports our claim that it was retaliatory, not administrative. Also, suggesting we've had issues with "other clinics" based on our records is an inappropriate and unprofessional dig. If you stand by your service quality, you shouldn't need to imply character flaws in clients. Lastly, the offer to "reach out by phone" rings hollow after communication was already strained and one-sided. We are happy to continue in writing to avoid misunderstandings and to keep a record of all interactions -- which is entirely reasonable given the circumstances. We will proceed with reporting this situation to the Idaho Veterinary Board. While scheduling conflicts can be disruptive, so is losing access to care for a chronically ill pet due to rigid, non-transparent policies and emotional retaliation.

Actually, the porcupine may have enjoyed it... I'm not sure. In any case, we needed some serious quill removal. We took him in around 10pm on Saturday night and they were pretty slammed. From start to finish it took a good 3-4 hours to get him treated and released. This isn't ideal, but totally understandable given the business they're in and again, the ONLY emergency vet clinic in town. Whatchagunnado? Total cost was around $700 which seems obscene on the face of it, but my wife (in whose opinion I trust like the stone-etched tablets of Moses himself) considered it quite reasonable given their service, skill and professionalism. They gave our dumb beast total wrap-around care, medicating him for pain and removing 50+ quills. My wife is in the medical field and is a pretty harsh judge of vets. She loved the docs here and found them both highly skilled, knowledgeable and efficient. This reaffirmed my own lay impressions. Bottom line? They did a great job and the service is invaluable in emergency cases. Cost is high, but not outlandish for the service.

We needed help quickly, so we drove here hoping they could help ASAP, not knowing what else to do. Everyone here was TOP NOTCH. From the receptionist, vet tech, AND veterinarian. In an abundance of caution, we agreed to wrap her foot to make sure it doesn't start bleeding again, even though there was "nothing to see here". Everything about the experience was absolute five star service and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone needing care for their animals!
