First time in to make an appointment was great. Very friendly. Once we came in for the appointment it was very busy. The staff did let everyone know that they were running behind... an hour after our scheduled appointment i went to ask how much longer and they said that we were already checked out when obviously we hadn't been seen yet. They did apologize and we were finally seen after an hour and twenty minutes. We showed up for the next and last vaccine appointment and they said that we missed our appointment earlier in the morning. I had an appointment written down by them and they were wrong. They did add us to the schedule. After 25 minutes, I asked if we were now having to wait because they got the time wrong... they said it would be 5-10 minutes. It has now been another 15 minutes. We will see how much longer it will be. No pets were in the building waiting room for the entire time we were waiting until this last 5 minutes. Poor communication, poor computer system, and very little apologizing for anything. I DO NOT recommend due to the disorganization and lack of communication. read more

I took my 6 month feral rescue kitten for neutering and dropped him off at 7:45 AM. I received a call at 3PM stating that surgeries were running late and that I could come by to pick him up at 5:15PM. The cat seemed to be very sedated as he was just out of surgery only about 2 hours earlier. At home he was very lethargic throughout the evening and incontinent of urine. I observed him carefully until midnight when he seemed to be more alert but still wobbly and sitting motionless in an odd position. By the morning he was pretty much back to his normal self and the surgical wound appeared to be clean without any discharge or bleeding. I understand that they are a busy clinic however I assume that my cat was probably over medicated and that the post op observation period is too short for animals that didn't get operated on until the late afternoon. One should take this into consideration when balancing the cost savings read more

As far as the actual service, our cat was vaccinated so quickly and it was great. However one of the receptionists, the one who checked us in, was unbelievably rude. She made me and my boyfriend feel stupid for getting confused between which vaccinations our kitty needed and had a really negative attitude. I don't remember her name, but she was older with glasses and long gray hair. We were just confused and rather than getting things explained kindly she just kept asking arrogant questions like, "why would you need that vaccine if he's not an outdoor cat?" like oh my goodness, just be nice to me please! The other receptionist that checked us out was great. SO much kinder than the other one. I'd feel a lot better about the whole thing if she checked us in and gave us helpful info without being arrogant and having an attitude, It's just frustrating when you're expecting some help and then just get treated like you're stupid! read more

My cat had surgery on 04/07/2025 for a spay during heat. I waited until she healed to write a review. Pet savers did an excellent job on her surgery and answered questions I had. I panicked the day after because she hadn't went pee yet and they answered my questions through the text like and thank god my cat ended up going pee so I didn't have to come in but they were super helpful. I love the mission of this place and what they do. But would just a tiny bit of communication be possible? No one answers the phone and they dont respond to emails. Often their vax schedule is blank for every week leaving people to wonder if they are even doing that anymore. Extremely difficult to work with, but they do a good job once we are there. If people cant schedule appointments, and you wont talk to anyone, eventually people will stop trying to use your services because its too hard. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Please please please do not take your dog or cat here. I took my 6 month old pug puppy here for what I thought was a ROUTINE NEUTER, and he ended up DEAD the same night. It wasn't a pleasant death nor peaceful in any way. It was traumatizing and I pray for everyone else who has lost a pet in this manner. I had to rush him to the er vet here in coeur d alene because he started losing control of his bowels, seizing, flopping on the floor, unable to walk and foaming at the mouth. By the time I got him to the emergency hospital, it was too late. He had pinpoint pupils, little to no bp, his extremities were cold, no white blood cell count let, liver all messed up, the conclusion from the vet? He was administered either too much meds, not monitored on anesthesia or the oxygen or both. She specifically asked how long it's been since his surgery because what signs he was presenting was overdose on meds or something to that effect. I told her it had only been hours, and she told me that if had he gotten the right dosage of meds, had been monitored on oxygen and anesthesia or all of the above, he wouldn't be in this situation. CPR wasn't even an option at that point for my little guy. They did blood work and scans and showed no liver function either which tells me he wasn't able to filter the drugs and/or he got hypoxia. Everything else like abdomen, and other things in his little body was fine. They take your pet, do a quick patch job, chop shop style, and move on to the next without regards to the animals safety or health. Inept as hell. Just look at the response to another review from the director of that place, and look how she talks to that person. It's deplorable and so unprofessional. PLEASE DON'T RISK YOUR PETS LIFE. read more

I got my two dog's vaccines and dental cleaning at Pet Savers and EVERYONE and EVERYTHING was wonderful! They even cut their toenails, brushed them, and took thorough photos of before and after the dental cleaning procedure. Everyone that I engaged with was extremely knowledgeable, kind, considerate, empathetic, and diligent. One of my dogs is a highly anxious rescue and he was so comfortable. I'm so grateful for Pet Savers and I highly suggest getting your animal's teeth cleaned here, among other things. read more

I do not usually post anything negative; however, a recent experience with PETSAVERS has caused me to alter that attitude a bit. My mother, sister, niece, some community volunteers, and I have been working very hard for years now to trap feral cats and kittens and have them neutered or spayed. We then return the fixed adult ferals to their colony, and try to tame and find homes for the feral kittens. I made an appointment to get one of the formerly feral (but still skittish) males, who is now about 7 months old, neutered. PET SAVERS requires a $50 deposit to hold an appointment. Their surgery fee is not that much less than others, but I went to them because of their supposed help trying to manage the feral cat situation in Spokane. I had scheduled an appointment on Friday, 4/29/2022 with them to fix the formerly feral male I have. I left a message and emailed them this morning to let them know he is still a bit too skittish and so I needed to reschedule. They have a 24-hour cancellation policy. With less than 24 hours, the deposit is forfeited. I called and emailed this morning (4/28/2022) at 10:00 am. The drop off tomorrow was to be between 7:00 and 8:30. Because I missed their cut off by 90 minutes, they told me I forfeited the deposit and that was just their policy. I understand that I was 90 minutes late; however, they would have had all day to fill their surgery schedule. With all of the work we have been doing to help solve the feral cat problem in Spokane Valley and them being a nonprofit with supposedly the same goal -- to solve the feral problem...them keeping the deposit (even though I wanted to reschedule) is, in my opinion, ridiculous and unacceptable. Here are 5 reasons you should NEVER go to petsavers. 1. Rude staff The staff here are unbelievably rude. We mentioned that our dog is skittish around new people and we wanted to make sure no one got nipped and they treated our dog like he was a feral wolf. They would barely even be in the same room with him. When he started getting anxious around all the rude staff, they then scolded us us by saying "you really need to socialize him more!" As if we aren't trying to socialize him. Meanwhile they're actively traumatizing him. 2. Incompetent staff These staff clearly don't know how to handle dogs. Our dog is not a violent animal but they were acting like he was terrifying them. He weighs 40 lbs. These people act like they've never seen a dog before. 3. Poor scheduling It took us MONTHS to schedule with them. We'd call, they'd tell us to use the website. The website would direct us to the phone number. Awful roundabout moronic service 4. No aftercare They absolutely gave us nothing in the way of aftercare for our dog after his neuter 5. Your dog will be abused. Our dog left feeling very frightened and looked like he had been hurt by them. These people traumatized our dog. BONUS: HIDDEN FEES!!! They quoted us a price and we put a deposit down. Of course when we actually took him in for his appointment they tacked on a bunch of BS hidden fees. It was just as expensive as going to a better vet! I took my cat to their neutering festival and I had gotten him their at 8:45 when they originally had my appointment at 7:30 and I didn't get him back till around 5 pm I had a hard time with the operators a few days before my cats surgery and a couple days after he's ears were bleeding and he's never been an out door cat before has not came in contact with another animal and I believe he got it from being with other animals their I had him in his carrier with his blanket and they took his blanket out and now he has earmites and when I called today I revived no help and just got told to go to emergency pet clinic it was cool for the $25 neutering and rabies shot but I just didn't expect my cat to come home with ear mites and receive no help when I call not even advice on what to do when my cat was bleeding from his ears I wish I had pics before of them but here they are now but as you can see their is crusted blood and black stuff everywhere when you look up pictures of ear mites that's what it is and my cat was obviously taken out of his cage and put with other animals and got them and it's very upsetting read more

I manage two feral cat colonies, and Pet Savers has been a Godsend. They accept my cats in the traps and then not only spay or neuter them, they give them an exam and vaccinate them, and with permission, treat whatever problems they may find - fleas, cuts, wounds, etc. Then they write up a fairly comprehensive report on each cat giving me the sex, age, color, and details of what treatments or procedures they performed. This is a real blessing, since these poor feral creatures will probably never see a vet again in their lifetimes. I get the impression by observing the staff's attitudes, that they want to help the cats as much as I want them to help. Petsavers is a great place for low cost vaccines & neutering. Staff has always been helpful & friendly to me & my dogs. It is a high volume clinic relying on donations & grants in addition to low fees, so customers should understand this beforehand. If you want hand holding, see a local private vet. I've had 3 dogs & 2 cats well cared for over the years at Petsavers and highly recommended them. The cost of vaccinating my pets here is really reasonable. read more

If you care about your pet, don't take them here, because they could care less about them. Day of neutering: Had me bring him in at 8am, just so they could do the surgery AT 5PM. Left him in a kennel all day without eating. Week after surgery: Check his wound as usual, but notice I can see some white; this could either be puss or his stitching having opened up. I call to ask their opinion, and they are the least helpful a human could be and tell me "iF yOuRe ThAt WoRrIeD" to bring him in the next day between 3-4. Cause nothing worse could possibly happen in a 24 hour timespan. They're cheap for a reason. read more

Absolutely awful experience: our dog got fleas from Pet Savers. Yes, FLEAS in December. Just to clarify, our dog has not been to a dog park, any other house with dogs (or without dogs) or anywhere else dogs frequent. We brought him home yesterday, and today have discovered fleas. Additionally, he has razor burn around the procedure area to the degree that it's tough to even clean the area with a warm washcloth. There are visible crusted over scrapes that are evidently from him being shaved. It's not worth saving the money. Go somewhere else. read more

I have took over 10 cats here and at least 1 dog. And some were threw their Ferrell program. Every time I went here they were professional and curtious and helpful and kind. I have never had one problem with the post op. And they even clipped their nails without any xtra charge. My parents took their felines there as well and were also happy with the care. I emailed for an appointment to have my male kitten neutered and they called me back almost immediately for an opening the following day. Dropping him off and picking him up were fast and easy. All went very well and everyone on staff was friendly and polite and answered my questions. They even clipped his claws as a courtesy. I took my kitten in to be spayed this morning , was treated very poorly both prior to arriving and once I arrived. I wrote a review on their website stating what horrible service I received so far, they saw my review and called me to say they are refusing to spay my kitten and for me to come pick her up because I wrote a bad review of them. They threatened to keep the $50.00 deposit, verbally abused me, and violated my freedom of speech. Animal Neglect, poor communication. No scheduling. I scheduled this appointment months in advance. I was told that my appointment was from 7am to 8:30am to have my male cat neutered. I showed up at 7 and due to COVID, they have you send a text when you arrive and they text you to say when you can come in. I went through that and they took my cat back. They told another customer in front of me that it would be about two hours. They told me that the surgery doesn't take long. The signs outside said that if you are the first customer, it doesn't necessarily mean that your pet will go first. I thought that was reasonable considering they were also a walk in clinic but after 3 and a half hours, I called to check up. They gave me absolutely no information for when my cat would be scheduled. at 3pm I called again. My cat was still in a crate, and not even in for surgery yet. They had told me not to feed my cat dinner, so he had been unfed since the day before, without water, and not allowed to get out and pee literally all day. Around 5pm I showed up, ignored the "please text" signs and walked in and demanded that they either refund me or do their jobs. This is animal neglect. My cat is a large Maine Coon who can't even turn around in those crates. If I had known I was signing him up to be stuck in a tiny cage for 8-10 hours straight, I would have taken him somewhere that has real scheduling and a slight give-a-fuck for animals. This is animal cruelty. They told me that I could have fed my cat the night before, as long as it was before 12pm. I was told differently on the phone. By the time I got there, my cat was finally in recovery from his short surgery and I waited in their office for an hour and a half with my toddler until my cat was ready to come home. They told me my cat was very healthy with no issues but when I got home, there were notes on the discharge papers stating that he had tapeworm segments and that it needs treated. Absolutely terrible service. No communication. Poorly managed. Zero scheduling. Disregard for animals and clients. Cheap prices, but I would rather pay an arm and a leg than traumatize and neglect my pet like that. Never going back. Also, I missed a day of work because I was under the impression that I needed to pick my cat up after a couple of hours or so, instead I missed a day of work to sit and worry about my cat literally all day. read more

Not at all impressed with pet savers. I called a month and a half ago when my dog finoshed being in heat. Finally had my appt today and mind you i prepaid for the surgery when i made the appt. When i dot there to pick her up today they said well there is an additional 20 dollar charge because she was in heat. So my dog bleeding and wanting to be mounted 6 weeks ago was just a fluke? I had a terrible experience taking my cat there. I repeatedly asked what the price would be and was told $30. I got to PetSavers at 8 in the morning and had to wait 30 minutes to check in. There was a line of about 15 people waiting to drop off pets. While I was standing there in the lobby waiting, there was a staff member in the animal holding room (the door has a window, so you can see into the room) screaming at a kenneled puppy to shut up. She's literally just screaming, "SHUT UP!!! SHUT UP ALREADY!!" Maybe she thought the door was sound-proof, I don't know. But it's not okay to scream at a crying animal. When it was finally my turn to drop off my kitty, I was told I'd be called between 1 and 3 to let me know when to pick her up. At 3:15 I hadn't been called yet, so I called them. No answer, so I just drove in to get my cat. The lady at the desk was all snotty and rude because apparently my cat had not had her surgery until 3, and I'm supposed to wait until I'm called, not just stop in. So she won't be ready until 5, which is an hour away. I'm a little mad that I have to wait an hour when someone should have called me or at least answered the phone when I called. And I was mad that my cat had sat in her crate for 7 hours before they'd gotten around to her. So with the recovery time, that makes it a 9-hour vet visit for a 2-minute surgery. Then I went to pay and they'd charged me $45. When I complained about the 50% price increase they told me it was because she was in heat. I asked why nobody had bothered to call and let me know this before going ahead with the surgery. Not only is it more expensive to fix an animal in heat, but it's a much riskier surgery. I was basically told that they don't have time to ask the owner's permission and that since I was getting a discounted price anyway I shouldn't complain. I was also told the price included pain meds. It didn't. They told me that they don't recommend any pain meds because if the animal is in horrible pain it keeps them calmer. Really humane way of thinking. I also was reading over their paperwork and they state that they do not give your pet a complete physical exam before putting them under anesthesia and performing surgery. That is SO unsafe and SO risky for your pet. (I noticed this after my cat had been spayed, or I wouldn't have left her there.) So basically, my poor cat had to sit in a room with about 30 other animals, being screamed at by staff, for SEVEN hours before being spayed. Because staff doesn't do exams, they didn't see she was in heat until she was knocked out and cut open, so they decided that my opinion didn't matter at all, and went ahead with a risky, more costly procedure without my permission. They then decide that they don't need to call me to let me know she was done with surgery, or to answer the phone when I called to see what was going on with her. And they get all pissy when I show up and then again when I question them on the inaccurate price and the fact that nobody called me. Their general attitude is that THEY are doing YOU a favor and you should be grateful for what you get. They don't care at all about your animals or you. They care about your money and nothing else. Real vet clinics do not run this way, and most of the staff is grossly underqualified. It's just scary. I will never go back. read more

UPDATE: I would like to say for the record that I did hear back from the office manager Stephanie regarding our situation. Stephanie has done her best to get the answers we desperately needed for closure. She has been as compassionate as anyone could possibly be for us and I feel that she truly felt our pain. Something that I wish for no one. It did take a day or 2 longer than we thought and it was out of her control and we felt abandond and felt that communication had ceased. Although we won't be taking our pets here any longer, we felt the need to leave the review so others can make thier own decision. REGARDLESS of the poor outcome for us, dealing with Stephanie was very much appreciated. read more

Good luck getting through to them on the phone, if you do they'll put you on hold for several minutes. If you manage to speak to someone on the phone, they are discourteous and sound stressed out. While adopting a kitten from them they walked me through the steps to take care of her and Dr Tammy even went as far as to take her home at one point to help her beef up.
