It has the quintessential downtown bar and grill with weathered small town elements - deep and narrow store front, hardwood flooring, neon signs, large tap selection. I ordered the Billie Jo burger medium rare, and it was the best burger I've had in a long time. Toppings were fresh, cold, and crisp, fries were piping hot. Top notch!

My fav is the weird combo Fourth of July burger which is exactly what you love about summer. Everyone's friendly and it's always clean.

It is a cozy little hole-in-the-wall on Main Street, and it is tiny. Do not let that fool you. Whatever the building lacks in square footage, the kitchen makes up for in the one thing so much of the state's food forgets to bring: Taste. Four of us went, and not by design, we each ended up ordering from a different part of the menu. That turned dinner into an accidental taste test with no coordination and no collusion, and the verdict was unanimous. Four plates, four corners of the menu, and every one of us said ours was really good. The committee has adjourned. The portions were generous. Only one person at our table finished everything on his plate, and the other three were not defeated by bad food. They were defeated by a lot of good food. Come hungry, and do not feel bad if you cannot finish; three out of four of us could not. The service matched the food. Our server was attentive in the way every restaurant claims to be and few actually manage. We never had to flag her down, and we never had to pester her for anything. Great service is when you notice you did not have to ask. I am already looking forward to driving back to West Bend, and next time I will be ordering the Reuben. So here is your briefing: Find the little place on Main Street, order from whatever part of the menu calls to you, and bring an appetite. In a state where flavor is too often optional, the Wagon Wheel Cafe brought plenty.

It had a local flair to the restaurant and looked more like a storefront than a restaurant, but certainly a hidden gem!
