We didn't think we could find THE PERFECT venue that was a one-stop shop, that was worry- and hassle-free, and that would provide the ambiance and vision for our brother's 40th birthday party, but we did! The Party Package at Wintergreen Woods more than delivered on our expectations. There was plenty of space for everyone to mingle, dance, and enjoy themselves while still feeling cozy and intimate. The natural scenery made it perfect for photos and created a really memorable atmosphere. What truly stood out was the hospitality. Donna and the team at Wintergreen Woods went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. There were NO ISSUES with food, decor, timing, cake, open bar... Everything was great! They're friendly, organized, and genuinely care about helping you have the best possible event. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed the party, loved the venue, and adored how unique the setting was. My family has had a stressful few weeks, between work deadlines, our daughters going through pre teen angst...and just life. My husband turned to me one day and said 'let's go break some stuff, I think we all could use it'! I didn't hesitate to agree! I was so excited! While plans were made to stop by the establishment we didn't book our session until the Saturday we decided to go. My husband called and was greeted by a friendly voice who answered all questions we both had. We booked a package for a couple of hours later. When we arrived we instantly got a good vibe! We signed waivers and waited a few minutes for our smash room to be set up. After taking a quick family selfie and briefed on safety instructions we proceeded to our room. Eager to smash some STUFF! We plugged in our music and didn't waste time beginning to smash! When I say we all needed this!!! Whew an INSTANT adrenaline rush followed by a release of dopamine! It was so great seeing my daughters safely let out their frustrations, some I didn't know they had until my youngest proceeded to smash a tv with a golf club while screaming (something I never thought I'd say LOL). My husband was so happy to see them enjoying themselves he brought add ons; a TV and microwave (extra charge by size). Not once did I feel this was an unsafe environment as a mother and dad a former combat vet (safety is always first when it comes to his 3 ladies!!!). The staff was on it as far as safety is concerned, letting us know limitations and rules clearly! We really enjoyed our experience! We all can't wait to go back! Day to day can cause so much tension individually and as a family, this place helps so much in releasing that!

Once you get a clue it definitely helps to figure out the direction you should be headed in. I like that you don't get penalized for using clues like some escape rooms do. The game was really fun and figuring out the clues was fun as well. The only hiccup was that one of the piece was missing from one of our puzzles but we were still able to proceed past it. I will say that for those with vision issues - this escape option has very low lighting. But we adapted just fine. The staff were very professional and accommodating. The ambiance of the facility was great. This location is easy to fine and free parking. Very clean establishment. The typical steam punk decor that I've noticed with Escapology locations. We escaped with just a few minutes remaining!!! Would highly recommend for a date night, fun night out with friends, etc. They have kid friendly rooms too like Scooby doo.

We decided to book a separate escape room for the rest of the fam and make it a girls outing, while the adolescent was enjoying the festivities. This made the best usage of time, especially since we had to drop her off and pick her up anyway. So, I booked the "Under Pressure" room for four, and it was a few dollars less than $175. When booking online the night before I realized some of the more popular times and sort after rooms were unavailable. Times slots for a few rooms became sold out as I was trying to book. Nonetheless, I mange to complete the purchase and have the liability waivers completed. This visit to Escapology is my 3rd Escape room while visiting the Columbia area and one of the nicer ones on just first impressions, location and parking. The staff was extremely friendly and the waiting/reception area was nicely themed and designed. Upon arrival we were checked and asked to wait while the room was prepared. Once our room was ready we were escorted to the start, giving directions & safety instructions, and then the clock was started. Of course they ask that you do not take videos/photos to not expose any clues to the game. The room was clean and the clues were mostly straight forward. We ended with a victory and escaped with merely seconds to spare. However, there were a few inconsistencies with the order of clues and we encounter a couple of missing or broken pieces/steps in the process of solving the puzzles and escaping. This has happened to me before (with another company) it can be frustrating and cause you not to beat the clock, but like I said we managed to succeed. Albeit by the skin of our teeth. Lol Overall we enjoyed the room and took our victory photos after. We were given rubber bracelets marking our achievement of beating the room. They have bracelets for each room and offer patrons the challenge of completing and collecting them all. After completion they offer a return promo/discount if you book your next escape room the same day. It's recommended if you enjoyed it because you get a little break on the price and I believe you can book it up to six months out. Just A Note: -If coming with a group I will recommend booking early. -If possible, I suggest that one person books for everyone to ensure getting the room and time you prefer. (Recommended but not required)

I was confused, so I called the office, as I had not requested a refund or been contacted before that email was sent to me. I inquired about the refund and they stated that I would need to rebook and they could not accommodate people on 8/15. I asked why I was able to book for 8/15 at all and they were hesitant to state it was an issue on their end. They eventually explained there was an issue on their end with their website, and they had to cancel everybody that had booked on 8/15, as they had an event that day instead (an anniversary - congrats to the couple), that their website wasn't reflecting. They did not apologize and simply stated if I wanted to attend a tour, I'd just need to pick another date or I could take the refund. I explained that date was the only one that worked and thanked them for their time. At some point, they called me twice that day. But they did not leave a voicemail the first time and the second time they left a voicemail where the employees were talking to each other about who on "the list" had been contacted about the cancellations and how to mark them contacted. It was clear they were unaware I had contacted them already. I did not call back and I have not heard anything since. Just felt a little weird ‍ and impersonal, for something that is supposed to be really cool! Not a super great experience.
