Although the street appeal probably isn't anything to woo at, and inside is a tad bit dated, yet is still humble in a family restaurant kind of way. I feel it may have been the owners who were working the front of house, and they were both lovely. They clearly have been in the business a while and did a good job and making us feel comfortable, and giving us a little giggle as well. The menu had heaps of choose from. Seemed as if there were a few extra options compared to other basic Chinese restaurants, including a traditional and western dessert menu. I had the Chicken Satay dish off the chef special menu. It was amazing. The sauce was flavoursome and certainly didn't seem like out of a jar type of thing. It was served with broccoli pieces as well as a little burning flame in the middle of the plate. My partner had the Sizzling Steak Mongolian style dish and the pieces were tender and juicy, with lovely sweet and tangy Mongolian flavours through-out. The plate was also served with vegetables. I love this place. It's my new found gem. I've been searching a while for a nice place to grab some quality Chinese food, and I think I've found my stop. This place isn't anything designer or high-end perhaps, but it still possess a charming old-school look and humble home-style meals, which is something I look when dining at Asian restaurants in the berbs.

The store is well positioned in the heart of McLaren Vale by the caravan park and is good for a quick dinner. Meals are $11 to $16. Personal favorites from the menu are Pork ribs in plum sauce, sizzling pepper chicken, satay chicken and lemon chicken. Rice is sold separately for $3 and is generally nice fluffy. Medium serves are not that much more pricey.

I frequent this restaurant on a weekly basis just so I can get my fix of the Sala Thai Massaman Beef Curry. I also go for the service, The lady who makes the magic happen has hospitality running through her veins; she always makes dining in an absolute pleasure with her super friendly demeanor. Definitely the best yellow curry I have tried. Also, they are creative with their dishes and don't just throw the same veggies in every dish. They also do some great special dishes such as the yellow barramundi curry and red duck or basil duck. The owners are always very friendly and accommodating and will stop to have a chat with you. We have dined in and had take away on many occasions and can highly recommend both.

Walking into the shop, it doesn't look flashy at all. However, what you're there for is the food. And this shop impresses with their food. Maybe a bit pricier than other shops, but the ingredients used are all high quality. Compared to other Chinese take away restaurants that use mid-range quality ingredients, Choy Inn Chinese produces great tasting food with great ingredients. They also don't use MSG, which is a bonus. They do get quite busy on Fridays-Sundays, so waiting time will possibly be extended. They are also closed on Tuesdays. I strongly recommend this Take Away, as it is easily the best Chinese take away in Adelaide.
