My wife and I drive down from Statesboro to try our luck on the ship. After visiting the casino boat in Savannah on a few occasions we decided to come to Brunswick. As with any casino ship you have to adjust your expectations as compared to a land based casino resort or Las Vegas and TV commercials. This ship is neither of the two. We came on a Friday night sailing and the crowd was very manageable and every one was having a good time, friendly faces, laughter and of course a few doom and gloomers that got cleaned out. The food was surprisingly deli'sh. Roast beef or shrimp was our main entree. Many sides and a salad came with the meal, for the price of admission I have paid much more for a lower quality meal at Applebee's. Food rating is a 3.5/5. Gaming: there are two floors of gambling, floor one has many rows of slots machines and such as well as poker table areas with a it five poker tables total. Very slim poker crowd for a Friday night. 2nd deck has slots but the entire center of this floor is table games, BJ, Roulette, Craps (2 tables). I did. It see and carnival type table games like Three cars poker or let it ride. There where 0 BJ tables that offered a side bet, lucky ladies, +3, etc. straight BJ. He forward end of the floor is what I refer to as GP (General Population) aka;$5-10 tables. Many unskilled and reserved players hoping to get lucky, which they seldom due and leave the table fast chalking it up to bad luck, try reading a BJ basics book if you never played before. I ended up on the aft section or the high stakes area. $25-50 tables with better players that did not have the tendency to bail on their first hand loss. BEWARE: the dealers told me they are instructed to cut 2-2.5 decks off the shoe on a six deck game (the only game offered on board) major disadvantage to players and boy did they clean house! I was fleeced for the first shoe but requested to the dealers to give us a thinner cut, pushed them to 1.5-2 decks which made a tremendous difference to us players. Harass the dealers that are trying to cut deep, do not play at tables where the dealer will not cooperate, it will save you money. All in all a great time, wife and I left $1800 up on $50-100 BJ after 4 hours of play. read more

Went last night with a buddy and had a good time ($10 a person). Make no mistake: this is a gambling boat. If you want to drink and gamble, it's a good time. It's not fancy and the food is average. I'll be back to gamble again! read more

Loads of the machines were non-functioning. The staff was lackluster at best. And even for a $5 Friday I expected the food to at least be edible. This was my first gambling cruise ever... It will surely be my last. When an employee states that the machine has been inoperable for over 6 months, along with 12 others, it makes you wonder. I overheard an employee telling a gentleman who inquired about jack pot rates "There aren't enough people on board for payouts to happen." The change machine kept $20 out of $100 with one gentleman. He had to wait 25 minutes for them to even acknowledge him and for them to count down the machine, (which I understand). It took 3 employees to belittle the man about it not being possible for the machine to have shorted him, yet only one employee brought the man his $20. I never heard him even offer the man so much as an apology. My friend waited 15 minutes for help because she couldn't get the game to cash her out. She had to go find someone to help her in the first place. While I know this is a gambling boat, the "observation deck" is horrid. Nothing but a storage thing covered in indoor/outdoor carpeting to sit on. No shade. And the most horrid biting fly problem EVER. I've always been told "You get what you pay for." I figured trying it wouldn't hurt, but this was beyond an impossible situation. If I had paid full booking price I'd have been PISSED as well as disappointed. Unless you are a hard core gambler who doesn't mind nasty food, indifferent help, and broken equipment; I'd advise finding another place to drop my money. read more

My friends and I went on this cruise for a birthday celebration. Everything seemed alright at first. The food was good and the servers on the top deck were really friendly and helpful after we got sea sick. We had our heads down trying to sleep it off on the third deck when a customer came up and was talking to our waiter Joey who is white. The customer said "I am ready to get off I have a three hour ride back to Savannah." Joey replied "that must be nice." The customer said " no I hate it, it is full of N WORDS." Joey replied, "we got a couple of them right here but your good they are sleep so I don't think they can hear you", referring to my friends and I. I had my head down but I was not sleep so I heard the entire conversation. A women who I believe is the owner of the ship was sitting a few tables away while they had this loud conversation and I am almost positive she heard her employee and her customer refer to us as N WORDS. We still had two hours left on the ship so I did not confront anyone but that was the most traumatic 6 hours of my life. I do not recommend giving this establishment your money especially if you are a person of color. I am hurt and disappointed at my experience on this cruise. read more

Do not waste your time going to this casino. We have just had the worst experience we have ever had at a casino. We departed the port at 1:10 and told that it was okay to gamble at the slot machines. No one made mention that we would not be able to cash in our tickets from the slot machines. After approximately 20 minutes an announcement was made that we were returning to port. There was no explanation and we had no idea what was happening. At that point we went to the cashiers cage and were told that we would not be given our money. We were told that the boat needed to be 3 miles out to sea to be able to exchange our slot tickets for money. We were never given this information! If we had, we would never have put any money into the slot machines. We are only passing through Brunswick on our way to Florida and were told to come back in 2 days to get our money. We cannot come back in 2 days!' This is a very shoddy operation and would not recommend that you waste your money. The only positive aspect of this very disappointing experience was the cocktail waitress who was very helpful in trying to find a regular customer to buy our tickets at a loss to us. Please be very wary of this company. read more

I had a chance to visit Emerald Princess Casino ship on a Friday night cruise that included free parking, access to casino and food. Reservations were made online and saved us time when checking in. It took about an hour or so to cruise to international waters but some of the slot machines were up and running while you waited. The ship was 3 stories and had a dining area with a dance floor on the top level. I really enjoyed the ship along with the helpful and nice staff. The reason I rated it 4 stars was due to the nasty food they served and no complementary drinks. The food in my opinion was just threw together and didn't have any flavor. I get that's it free but I guarantee good food would make people want to come back more often. It's highly suggested you eat before you come. The drinks weren't pricey in my opinion but at real casinos the drinks are free as long as you're gambling. But, despite the cons I wouldn't mind returning. Also the ship gets very cold, dress accordingly! read more

I only give this a one star because the zero stars was unavailable. Went to see what all the hype was about and spent the majority of my birthday on this vessel- Horrible Mistake. For someone who doesn't gamble, I was expecting atleast still to have a good time and go see 3-4 decks of exciting/eye-catching things or maybe go dancing and checkout the lounges. Needless to say I was thoroughly disappointed when I saw what I had gotten myself into. The trip was grueling 6 hours long!!! 6 Hours!!!! From 7PM-1AM on Saturday nights. And You will see everthing that is worth seeing within the first 20 minutes. Then for the remain 5 1/2 hours you will be standing around waiting to come back home. And Yes, I did say standing because guess what-there is no lounge, there is absolutely no place for you to sit down and rest. They serve dinner but only for the first hour. So If you miss it like I did, you will just be out of luck. The whole place, even outside on the deck smelled of disgusting cigarettes and when you leave you'll be coughing for days. This place is classless and everyone on there dressed like they were headed to the local swap meet or flea market.. Save your time and sanity and just go see a movie or two if you looking to get out of the house. read more

I was in Savannah for business and brought my wife with me on this trip. We decided to go on the Thursday night cruise. We paid the $10 each and boarded. Everyone was very friendly. We went to the dining deck and ate the dinner that came with the cruise. Not bad for $10. Beef tips, curry shrimp, or boiled shrimp over rice, green beans, cucumber and tomato salad, greens salad, fresh fruit, and vanilla pudding were on the menu. I had the beef tips which were good and the wife had the shrimp. It also it included tea or soft drinks. It was nice to sit on the deck eating while we started to get under way. I also have to say that this boat was very clean and not just for a boat but for a casino in general. Business takes me to many areas including Las Vegas and the cleanliness was on par or better than some casinos on land I have been to. When we got out into international waters the games opened up. I usually only play craps in the casino. I opened the table and have to say the dealers were great. Matt, Mark, and Robert kept the game fun and we talked a lot during the night. There was only one other person playing craps so it was very nice to keep getting the dice. The dealers kept the game flowing and were laid back. Kudos to them. The wife played slots and some roulette. Robert, the floor manager was very nice as well. Kyle in the cage was very nice to my wife as well as everyone else, heck even the chef shook our hands as we left the boat for the night. We had a few drinks, I won some money on the craps table and we had a great time. I will definitely be back if business brings me back to the area. Great job to the whole crew!!!!! read more
