First of all, I would like to say, the staff were very polite. However, if they are there to do a…read morejob... to sell jewelry. Everything went downhill after my encounter. I was rushed as our cruise ship was in port for a very short time. Steve, the owner, showed me a gold necklace & a ring that my aunt actually loved. I tried it on and I really liked it. I was offered 0% financing for a year. I had no idea when I gave him my phone that he was filling out a credit application for me. I should've realized that it was a credit application once he has other pertinent information. I simply went in for a gold necklace from my husband. As I inspected the ring, Steve was very good, indicating it was one of the kind and that he designed it himself. It was a reversal of a chocolate, diamond and flipside was blue. Anyway, the ring was very expensive.... And I should've thought about it in more detail as they were very tiny diamonds, which are a dime a dozen. I feel I was overcharged and taken advantage of. The ring had to be sized along with another purchase, which was sterling silver. I did not intend on buying anything else but when I returned, a salesman showed me some other jewelry that went well with other piece I bought. When I returnEd home, I tried to reach out to the jeweler to see if I could return the sterling silver set, I was advised by Steve that the receipt states "all sales are final. " But he offered that I could send it back to exchange for something else in the store. I said I would think about it Then when the ring broke, I tried calling several times at various times of the day (20-25 times over the course of two months; I gave Steve the benefit, thinking it was off-season). But there was no answering machine nor a way to leave a message.. I opted to call Wells Fargo, the credit card company, to put in dispute as Jewel Palace, nor Steve was answering the phone & no answering machine. Since then, I have received a letter from Wells Fargo, indicating that there was no reason to dispute as "all sales are final," and that the jeweler is willing to repair the ring and pay for shipping. I have tried to contact them to send the ring & shipping; again no answer. Therefore, I feel again I was taken advantage of, and I would not feel comfortable from purchasing anything from this vendor again. I am going to try to reach out to them to see if they can make it right and fix the ring. At one time, Steve did offer to trade the costume jewelry-silver jewelry that I bought for anything in the store. I'm not sure if he would do the same for the rose gold chocolate diamond flip ring that I purchased at over 3k+. I will continue to try to reach out. Please be aware of what you are buying and be careful of a smooth salesman. I wonder if I should contact the Better Business Bureau for some help.

Rick really cared that we have a great experience while in Ketchikan. The Honda Odyssey van was spacious enough for the four of us. Rick had pairs of binoculars and waters for us. He took us to a place to see black bears catching and feasting on salmon. We saw Bald Eagles and just missed seeing an orca. While on Creek Street, a black bear emerged from under a building to eat blueberries and huckleberries. We ate a few too after the bear moved on. Rick took us to a totem pole park and gave a great tour and history of totem poles. We took many tours while in Alaska and this was by far the most enjoyable one. You can't beat having a private tour with a guide who is proud of his town and wants you to have a great experience.

Much to our surprise they served us a delicious little snack with salmon dip, smoked salmon, crackers and locally made chocolate...as well as some pickled kelp I believe (I'm not a fan of pickled things so I tried but didn't pay attention lol). Another surprise was they had a few locally made gifts on board, one of the deck hands is also a very gifted artist so he had designed some of the stickers and tees for sale. Pick-up from the dock was easy and since we were the first tour, it was just us and one other person! Everyone from our driver, the capt, and staff at Hump Island were so welcoming, friendly, and informative about the area. With our group being so small, it felt more intimate and enjoyable. Our boat ride was great to and from Hump Island because our captain made sure to show us around and we were able to catch glimpses of bald eagles and whales! Once we arrived to Hump Island Oyster Co we were greeted and given such detail about the process at the farm. Our kids got to enjoy their touch tank and even spotted some jellyfish! Once upstairs, we enjoyed raw and charbroiled oysters along with some amazing salsas and sauces. The whole experience reminded my husband and I of that of wine tasting, but with oysters. Conversation flowed and the laid back atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable.
