    Salmon stream on the hike

Awesome tour! My family of 5 had a great time, we also had two little kids ages 5 and 2 years old. Austin was our guide and was very knowledgeable other area we toured and was great. Thank you Wild Wold Tours for the memories!

We took the 3hr forest tour. Tracy was amazing. She gave us alot of Ketchikan history on our way to the Tongass Forest hike. She also served us salmon dip and crackers, and bottled water after our hike. She provided a cane for my sister, who would not have been able to enjoy the hike without it. A visit to the totem village on the way back to our ship was perfect. This was a top-notch tour and a perfect way to experience the beautiful rain forest outside of Ketchikan instead of just shopping for trinkets in town! Highly recommended tour AND guide.

Zack was great in rolling with missing passengers, risking his life to show us what mushroom NOT to eat, and bringing an educated excitement to everything we would have missed if walking the trail alone. Really enjoyed our time with him... and Mary Grace, you have a good catch. He loved talking about you!

Nice people. Cool tour. The bus ride to the sled was more memorable than the sled. Dogs were cool. Puppies were cute. It was an adventure

The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and being out on the water gave us a completely different view of Ketchikan and the surrounding mountains and coastline. The crew was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the area. They made the experience fun and relaxing, and you could tell they genuinely wanted everyone onboard to have a great time. We also really appreciated how they shared information about the local wildlife, history, and community along the way. If you're visiting Ketchikan on an Alaska cruise and looking for something memorable to do, I would definitely recommend taking a boat tour. Beautiful views, great people, and an unforgettable Alaska experience. We would absolutely do it again! Highly recommended!

Felt like I was on the Alaskan version of the Jungle Cruise and I loved it! Abigail was our tour guide and Frank was our driver. They were funny and engaging. I would absolutely recommend! I bought tickets from Viator which was WAY less expensive than what our cruise Shore Excursions were charging, and slightly cheaper than the online rate from Ketchikan Duck Tours directly.

We walked casually through the forest while learning about the surrounding area and wildlife. We saw some eagles on our walk and eventually came upon the boardwalk near the salmon hatchery where we happened upon a black bear with its recent catch of salmon. After being mesmerized with the bear we walked further on the boardwalk to spy a ton of eagles perched in the trees and along areas in the low tide. Many full grown and juvenile eagles were spotted. Next we headed to watch a totem being carved them onto the blacksmithing area. Because we spent extra time with the bear we had a tad less time to wander around the grounds before boarding the bus again and heading back to the port. I thoroughly enjoyed the educational aspects of the excursion as well as the live appearances from the wildlife. It was an intimate tour with 11 of us total plus Ella. We really enjoyed the beautiful day outside along with wildlife spotting!

As we approached the hatchery, Emily was informed there was a black bear eating salmon in the area. We ended up watching the female bear eating, resting, catching salmon, and walking next to us ( in a safe distance of course). It was such a wonderful bonus experience! The gift store was well stocked, and price was reasonable. Highly recommend!

Date of tour: July 18, 2025…read more Really enjoyed this all-women(!) crew on our visit to the Dawes Glacier. The boat was clean and spacious--there's nothing worse than being on a boat that is packed to the gills with people--with two levels to enjoy and outside areas as well, including a third level that was opened when the boat was not in motion. Everyone was friendly and the snack and drink options were plentiful and for the most part, affordable. Given the captive audience, I appreciated that they weren't outright gouging us during our journey. They also offered up some free items as well, which was also quite unexpected. Crew interacted well with the passengers, asking them how their cruise has been and where they were from. The collection of glacier ice to be used in the making of drinks at no additional cost was a nice touch, even giving the kids cups of glacier ice without a charge was something you rarely see in this day and age! There were some things that could be improved, though: - The captain scolding the crew over the public address system was unnecessary. Apparently the other boat forgot their net and we needed to pass it over to them but the crew was busy helping passengers and didn't want to make the lines longer by going to fetch the net and pass it over. Confident that this could have been handled better. - The free donut holes were awful. Like puffs of stale bread that sat next to sugar, hoping the wind would blow some sweetness onto them. I know, it's free, but still something that should not have been served. - Hearing a crew member awkwardly navigate the tipping section of the credit card machine literally 50 times the exact same way. Saying, "You can just hit skip. If I do it, I'll get talked to about it." There are so many other ways to handle this that don't come across like she's going to be beaten at the end of the cruise.

Through an unfortunate series of events, we missed the boat by 10 minutes, but this operator…read moregraciously have us a refund. We have taken this adventure in the past and it is awesome!
