In Florida we are a boating state. I've taken the on line boaters safety class and. Still wanted…read moremore. This class is not for everyone. Most enthusiasts will benefit from a basic course offered by the USCG Aux. Legally boats for hire must be under the license of a captain. I had three other friends who are graduates of this school. And while going through this journey you will get to learn along with 9 to 11 other students. My friends spoke highly of Capt Casey and instructors. I had to wait an extra month to get into this class as there was not enough students in December. This month we had a max. Of 12 students, but two dropped out after the first day for other reasons. This course has 4 major categories, rules of the road, chart plotting, navigation gen, and deck gen/ safety. Capt. Terry Kuykendall started by teaching us rules of the road and intro to chart plotting and Capt Joe Calzone taught us the rest. This school also has extra endorsements for towing, master inland, master near coastal, radio operator. Port security, I will have to say that the students in this course were from various backgrounds and ages. 3 of us were retired. Two were involved in marine sales and rentals. And a few were doing it for personal development. One student was sponsored by his employer. Class time is very intensive as they prepare you to think large like 100 gross ton 65ft vessels. Many of the rules are specific to inland waters and international rules are equally important. The weekday night class moves along quickly and we are tested each day after each topic you will be given immediate daily feed back on the information that you have reviewed. They did a good job of staying on topic as to not fly off on tangents. Most of our classmates were respectful to the instructor and other students. The instructors will teach but as students you will have to put in the time to review the manual and learn the procedures and formulas. Know chart navigation and identify signals both lights and sounds. Bells whistles and gongs. Expect it to be very difficult if you fail to study and put time in. The instructor was willing to help one on one if needed.

We went here for the Matisse exhibit which goes till April. The place is small, has a cute gift…read moreshop but it's very noisy. Some ladies were taking over the lobby while we arrived, they were loud, it was chaotic, felt like stepping into somebody's private party. The actual exhibit is small, art on display is from last years of Matisse when he was having health issues. Not that impressive. Nice activity if you want to spend about an hour or less here. I didn't like the guided tour because they took over a decent part of the exhibit, we had to come back to check it out later. I enjoyed the artwork in the lobby, modern, contemporary and bold. Otherwise, very noisy place, hard to concentrate on art and enjoy it! Check their site for hours and current exhibits! $15 admission, a tad steep since it's a small place!

The formed in order to create art, exhibit it, and teach art to others in the community. A public school art program was established that same year. In 1957, the Naples Art Association organized the first "Art in the Park." Still running today, it's thought to be Naples' oldest outdoor art show. In the 1970s, the Naples Art Association restored the Naples Depot with money they raised. They built studio spaces and held their first art exhibition in 1978. The next year they offered adult art classes and they continued providing educational programs at the Naples Depot until 1998. In 1980, their first annual spring art show was held in Cambier Park. As its known now, the Naples National Art Festival has become our largest fund raiser and is consistently rated among the top 10 art festivals in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine.1980's In 1992, Naples Art began meeting with the Naples City Council for a lease agreement to provide 8,000 square feet of public land in Cambier Park to build a community art center. In 1995, city leaders signed an agreement and raised $3.5 million through private donations, including one from Suzanne and William von Liebig for whom the art center is named.1990's On November 22, 1998, Naples Art officially opened The von Liebig Art Center. Our 16,000 square foot, two-story facility features six studios, a main exhibition hall, rounds galleries, one of the area's largest art resource libraries, and a gift shop. Today their "mission is to enlighten, engage, educate, and enrich the community and to build on Naples Art's history and position of leadership as a hub of visual arts in Southwest Florida." Their vision is that "art can change lives and improve entire communities. Modern style buildings adorn this campus. Very close to the busy Airport rd in Naples…read more As you see from photos spacious and roomy. Lots of tables and chairs inside and out. There's a cafe where the culinary students cook and sell meals. Today it was lunch only from 11:30-12:00. A bowl of veggies mixed in rice looked yummy but had sausage so I declined. With a drink it was like $4 Lots of courses offered from writing, drafting, computers, Surgery technician to cosmetology, and even Veterinary assistant. This is summer so the classes are limited. This is also a part of Collier county schools. Classes offered are for degrees as well as just fun adult improvement courses. Everyone must check in at the receptionist desk by the media center right in the lobby. What's weird is I couldn't find Building 2. Only saw signs for 1 and 3. Told I was to walk past the lobby to the next building which was 3, go thru a hallway to take an elevator up to second floor where my classroom was in building 2. Hmmmmm ... someone messed up. How bout some signage? At the end of the campus are alternative schools. Not the best places to hang, but hopefully kids can turn their lives around there with a more stricter, disciplined setting. There is a covered walkway connecting the buildings and plenty of parking.

It was our first time and we arrived 30 mins early to enjoy our bottle of wine and learn more about our evening and what to expect. Our seats and area was already ready for each group to participate. We first received some AMAZING already made bruschetta, wow we devoured it. Next we began making our Port Wine Twice Baked Sweet Potato Souffle (Sweet potato, baked with Port Wine Cheese, thyme, rosemary, and butter) delicious! Then our Big Cali Salad (Romane, Avocado, Radishes, Cucumber, and Snap peas tossed together with a Red wine Vinaigrette) so filling and refreshing! Before making our main entree we made our dessert which was Tropical Citrus Prosecco Gelato (Nectarine, Pineapple, and champagne come together to create a wonderfully bright light gelato) in order for it to be ready after our dinner. Lastly we made our entree which was the delicious Strawberry Cabernet Barbeque Chicken (Chicken Roasted with Strawberry Cabernet Barbeque sauce).. everything was so good! The atmosphere was great, we got to know the other couple as well as our chef. Chef Z took the time to explain everything to detail and answer any questions we had, while showing us the steps you can see his view on a large TV which is great so you can see what he is doing and explaining. Very fun! At the end there was so much dessert we even took some leftovers home to share with the rest of our family. I truly enjoyed the experience and food! I hate cooking and it made it very easy and entertaining. We will be back and bring my boyfriend's parents to join us next time! Thank you again Chef Z!
