Health Nut Açaí bowl.
Ana B.

I love a good açaí bowl. I recently got one at Emerald City Smoothie in South Windsor. This is a smoothie shop mostly, they also have a small selection of açaí bowls. The shop it's self, is very basic, there isn't much aesthetic to it at all. They've also eliminated all of their indoor seating. There is one table outside where you can sit. I got the Health Nut açaí bowl. The base is made of açaí, strawberries, blueberries and banana. Topped with plenty of granola, dry goji berries, almonds, and sweetened with agave nectar. This is a great choice for a hot day! The açaí is so cool and refreshing, and the size was perfect for my friend and I to share. It was a bit sweeter then I'd like, I could probably do without the added agave. It's filling with no questionable ingredients. I enjoyed it a lot. Everything was fresh and a great blend together. While this smoothie place doesn't look very inviting, they make an excellent and healthy açaí bowl. I'd for sure get it again.

Not a BOWL at all!

I ordered an Acai Bowl but what I received was a smoothie in a plastic container that should be used for SOLID foods (cakes, pies, cookies), nothing liquid based. Needless to say it melted all over both myself and the interior of my car and I literally live 5 minutes away. I'm not sure why the change was made from using actual bowls but it's definitely not beneficial to the customer. The container holds a much smaller portion than what you used to provide but your prices haven't lowered, the Acai melts RAPIDLY and the container leaks profusely! I've been supporting the business since you've opened and have never had any issues until now so I hope my complaint isn't falling upon deaf ears......

Located at the far end, away from most stores however close by to the L.L.Bean! Im a big fan of smoothies and I see slowly how im addicted to Emerald! My favorite smoothie is the "emerald" its a mix of greens n fruits so delicious! Have tried a couple of other smoothies, each one of them is so different with the flavors. They have a smoothie which has papaya, guava too. The service is quick however the staff is not friendly nor welcoming but this fact won't stop me coming here.

Tucked away near the LL Bean store this cute lil smoothie shop is great! My friend's nephew wanted something sweet so instead of ice cream we came here. The shop was busy as it was a gorgeous day for winter in New England. I was shocked how many smoothies they offered for children. I had the nutty banana which was like amazing! I am a peanut butter freak so anything with peanut butter this girl is down! I would be here on the regular if I lived closer. They offer a lot of seating and you can purchase additional health products at the store.

Mmmmm good!!!!

I was on my way to Cold Stone (got wisdom teeth removed) and happened to see there was a smoothie place in this outdoor mall. I hotfooted over there to be served by "Dara" (total sweetie) who explained all the drinks and what her favs were. I ended up with a Coconut Passion Smoothie consisting of: Coconut, banana, pineapple, almonds, nonfat millk, wheat germ, protein The yummiest smoothie I have had in a LONG time. Please stop by and give them a try---you won't be disappointed!

The Nutrition is on point, the flavors are endless, and for $8 you can get a refreshing energizing tea and delicious shake. My personal favorites are the Jersey shore tea and Caramel Spice shake. These items taste like a desert, but are completely guilt free. The staff is so friendly and make you feel like you are at home and welcomed. They are able to accommodate my nut allergy which is a huge plus. We started our fitness and wellness quest a little over a month ago and I have already seen some serious results! I am already down 10 pounds, 1 pant size, and I'm feeling so much better physically and mentally. In the past, Saturday mornings meant dining out and eating eggs Benedict until we couldn't move. Now Saturday morning stops are to Happy's Nutrition after our Orange Theory workouts instead. Super clean and convenient location. During the week we normally work out in the evening and would definitely stop here daily if they were open later. Love this place, we are hooked and recommending to everyone.

It's a herbalife shop, that puts in that extra effort to be better than the others…read more I belong to a bariatric group, and this place was touted to be a very good place to get a protein shake. Since there's a couple good breakfast spots in the area, I decided I would go to this location and give them a try. Place was decked out with decor and inspirations sayings. I take a quick look at the displays, and I see the herbalife products. To the unintiated, herbalife shops are pretty much these MLM shops. Kinda like lularoe. they use social media to attempt to appear trendy while trying to encourage repeat business while harvesting as much info as they can from you. I don't really care too much about that, I care about the end product and how things taste. After being to a few of these shops, I can say that I'm not really a fan of their proteins. I feel that they use a little too much thickener and are a little gritty. the flavors are muted and they always try to justify the price of the shake by giving you a detox + energy tea to go with it. Their shakes pretty much taste like what I would expect a protein shake to taste like, if I didn't know how to make one myself. The biggest difference between these shops is how they are operated. This place is operated pretty well. The owner was very kind and inquisitive, though they could be a little pushy. This specific location actually has lots of extra items like protein balls and cookies. They also got very decorative with their shakes, layering shake and mix-ins and topping with pictures of shakes to help you make your decisions. I got a shake, a tea for the girlfriend, some protein balls, and because it was customer appreciation day I got a balloon, a valentine protein ball, and a gift certificate. I did enjoy the protein balls, they had a strong peanut butter flavor and a good texture. The protein shake was okay, was this apple pie shake with layers of granola, apple, caramel, and a little apple pie piece on top. The tea had a little bit too much of their fruit punch flavoring, but it was drunk. The difference between this herbalife shop and others is the staff and the hustle, and this place is trying very hard to be just that little bit better than it's competition. I respect this place for trying as hard as they do, but it is not the greatest of shakes. If you want a herbalife protein shake, give this place a try.

On occasion I might be in a mood for a crisp and refreshing bubble tea. We stopped by Wukong Tea…read moresince we were in the area. Wukong Tea is located in the same plaza as Stop & Shop in South Windsor. The inside is cute but looked like a daycare classroom. The walls were covered in kid's doodles and drawings, there's a table with Legos, a shelf with stuffies, a bit overkill if you ask me. They offer a large assortment of teas, slushies, smoothies and more. I got the Peach Lemonade with tapioca. We also got a few of the macarons. For a place that specializes in bubble tea, this wasn't good. I got the Peach Lemonade, there was nothing peach about this tea, as far as the lemonade it had just a splash of flavor and a lot of color. The tapioca were pleasantly chewy. The macarons were like eating cardboard, very artificial. I've had better ones from Aldi and Trader Joe's. This was a very disappointing experience at Wukong Tea.

Okay tea, trying but odd…read more Came here cause they just opened up. The space is sparse but functional. Lots of stuff for the kiddos but not much else. They had a few spaces for kids to play, and a bunch of plushies on the wall for people to buy.it's definitely aimed for the young ones in terms of decor and layout. When we first came in, we got an overwhelming scent of tapioca balls. A cooked rice and sugar smell which was very predominate and distracting. If you didn't know the smell, you would call it astringent and funky. Not a good sign. Lots of sweets on the menu and the drinks lean towards sweet. They offer lots of "poppers" in a lot of different flavor options, with some inventive selections such as cheese, red bean, and water chestnut. Drinks are about 5.50 for a medium, with poppers coming in as a .50 cent add on. I opted for the red bean milk tea with red bean poppers. Cause I just wanted to try a red bean popper. Drinks came out quick and we took our pics and sips. The tea was non-existent, was a blended red bean drink with lots of red bean flavor but none of the sweetness that push it closer to a dessert item. The red bean poppers delivered on the red bean texture. Flavor was lacking compared to the drink, and was very firm. Almost like a jelly encased bean. The missus got a matcha green tea which was better executed. Lighter on the tea but sweet and creamy. It's not a space for the older folk, and I don't know how I feel about it as a hip or trendy drink spot. It's not bad, but it's not a great drink spot either. Some spaces are not to peoples preferences though, and I get that. As a traveler of sorts, I don't think there's enough to have me try them again.

Not my cup of tea…read more I've been meaning to come to this location to give them a try. Had the opportunity this time around, and decided to jump in. The location is very small. Not a lot of room to order or wait. There's a singular tablet to order from. Ordering kiosk was buggy. Had to select espresso multiple times to get to the coffee and had multiple upcharge prompts. And I guess they just started a Barbie promotion? Because the 4 seats in the place were taken up with influencers in Barbie and Ken garb. Decided to try their pumpkin coffee, because why not? Wait was a little long, but eventually I got my coffee As a coffee location, it's not great. I appreciate they have it, but it's very much a hint of coffee with a sickly sweet combo of pumpkin and strawberry foam. Not the flavor combo that works I get it, it's a boba tea place. Coffee is not its strong point, and it's not right to compare a coffee in a place that deals in almost exclusively tea. Even if I were into tea, I do have expectations. A kiosk that works, expediency in a chain location, and a drink that's not looking to hide any form of bitter in a mountain of sugar. If you really like boba and presenting yourself on social media, then this place could be your jam (or jelly, or boba) for me it's a pass

I didn't really taste the passionfruit, but more so of the green tea. I don't know if the majority of the drink is 85% tea, 5% jelly, and 10% passion fruit. The sweet level was not too bad, usually I tell them less sugar, and the drink still comes out sweet. I think that's what kung fu tea is known for compared to other bubble test shops such as teabreak or gong cha. Thus again is my experience in drinking bubble tea. The location and shop is super clean, the worker was nice, and the vibes are there. The drink was just mid. I have to crave it to just come to kung fu.
