I recently had a very frustrating experience at Embry Animal Clinic. I scheduled a dental cleaning and tooth extraction for my dog, and unfortunately, the staff failed to inform me that I needed to bring a rabies certificate. Despite receiving a reminder email about the appointment, this important detail was never mentioned.
After I dropped my dog off, they called me while I driving back home to tell me they required the certificate. Since I had recently moved and was still had some unpacked boxes, I couldn't easily access it. They asked for the name of my previous veterinarian, but I couldn't remember offhand as we mostly went to mobile clinics. They said they would consult the doctor and let me know what to do next.
I waited a long while without any updates, so I eventually reached out and texted the assistant who was checking with the vet to see if I needed to pick up my dog. When they finally responded, I was shocked to learn that they had started calling veterinary clinics in my previous city without my consent. Considering that the area I moved from is surrounded by several small towns, this felt invasive and highly unprofessional.
I felt they handled the situation poorly, lacked clear communication, and wasted my morning on a workday. I strongly suggest they improve their scheduling process to ensure clients are properly informed of required documentation ahead of time. Additionally, taking action without my permission was unacceptable. I hope they make changes to avoid putting other pet owners through this kind of stress and frustration. read more
