Thank you for fighting for me. Thank you for standing up for me. It healed something in me that I didn't even know was there. The most ironic part? Officially, I was never even a client of the The Meadows. I was trying to on-board and the psychiatrist who reviewed my screening declined to treat me across the board at all The Meadows facilities. Was he really trying to protect me? Was he trying to protect himself, The Meadows? I hope it was both. Only he really knows. I did not feel protected by him. It did not feel like a gentle let down. He seemed annoyed. He made a comment like of course he could decline me as a patient, like I must be stupid for not understanding that. I write this review to thank Erie and Kristy and also to warn others you may get declined for treatment if you have really bad trauma. Getting declined and rejected (that's what it is) made me want to die. Having Erie and Kristy fight for me, made me want to live. The Meadows referred me out to Menninger in Houston. Unfortunately at this time, when it comes to attachment, hospitals, IOP's, PHP's, trying to trust, I don't think I have anymore "stickiness" left in me.

I won't go into every detail, but I have serious concerns about the medications prescribed to my daughter at Willow House and the chronic body pain and other physical issues she has experienced. She was also placed in a program she repeatedly expressed was not appropriate for her needs, yet her concerns were ignored. These facilities seem more concerned with making money than genuinely helping the people entrusted to their care. Families come to these programs hoping to find help for their loved ones, not to watch them suffer while their concerns go unheard. Mental health care should be about patient safety, well-being, and recovery... NOT profit. As a mother, it is heartbreaking to feel that the people who were supposed to help my daughter failed her. The emotional toll on our family has been immense, and I cannot help but wonder how many other families have endured similar experiences. I urge families to do their research, ask difficult questions, and think carefully before trusting these facilities with someone they love. No family should have to go through what ours has endured.

It turns out the list of clinical psychiatrists in Austin is fairly short. On my first visit it was clear that this is not some massive healthcare conglomerate with multiple levels of staff and a hustling bustling office...it's Chris the pleasant and responsive office manager and Dr. Weiss, whom I came to quickly realize is the type of person who has truly dedicated his career to improving the mental health of his patients. He explained drug interactions and potential outcomes to me better than any psychiatrist I've seen before. It's clear that he loves the science side of things just as much as the clinical conversations and is enthusiastic in educating along the way. For those that prefer a calmer office setting and more 1:1 personal interaction with staff, this is the spot.

I am so happy that I trusted the latest 2019-2020 reviews for this Doctor because as Michael G…read more said: "Dr. Weiss is the man!" The older reviews from 2016 seemed very outdated and in my experience, they were the complete opposite of how my time went there. Now let me tell you a little about my experience during my visit to Psychiatry Austin. As soon as I walked in, Chris at the front desk greeted me and was very helpful with getting my insurance information in order. As soon as I was done with all of my paperwork I was immediately seen by Dr. Weiss which is honestly pretty rare with the other doctors I have been too. With other doctors, I will be waiting in the waiting area for 20-30 minutes before being seen. During my appointment, Dr. Weiss knew so much about the treatment options for ADHD and he went above and beyond by making sure that I really understood every option available to me. In all of the doctors that I have seen this is by far the BEST psychiatrist that I have ever seen. With all this being said, I highly recommend Dr. Weiss especially for your treatment of ADHD. Pro Tip: The office is located at the end of the parking lot and make sure to look for the letter D.

I was blessed with a scholarship to Second Chances Sober Living. Jeff Lewis was informed prior to me moving in I had no food and would potentially need help before I could get to a place of some income. I was greeted by the house with open arms and some people offered me food. Late at night I made a mistake I take responsibility for. I began eating a small amount of food which I planned on talking about in the house meeting. I was definitely going to replace more than I eat. I was awakened the next morning by David who runs the house. Very nice man but a little pissy giving me the news I had to move out. Not even 24 hours I was there!! I attempted to call Jeff Lewis he not only was aggressive but stated I need to get out as quickly as possible because the house is pissed. I stated no one was going to do anything to me. He insured me I need to get out very quickly because his words "if I was you I would get the fu_k out of there as quickly as possible before housemates get home. I have been sober for over 3 1/2 years before with the guidance of the 12 steps. What I learned was love, tolerance, integrity, forgiveness amongst many other quality traits. Jeff practiced non of the qualities of AA. I know what Jeff is. He is that guy that is a smooth talker and loved in meetings but inside is unmanageable. He bullied me, shamed me while I am already full of it. I was literally shaking with fear. I haven't shook in decades. I knew what was in store for me countless nights of homelessness and hopelessness. This was my one shot to get my life together. Again it is my error although it is not as I used or put anyone else in danger. He sent a group text at 7:40 in the morning stating I was eating peoples food right now, which wasn't true. I was sleeping. He did this to get the house hyped up to potentially attack me with physical violence. I later learned that his wife is on the board which oversees this home. What a conflict of interest as well as convenient. I will continue to review Jeff Lewis for the phony he is.

Working with the psychologists at Deep Eddy has helped me become happy and confident in who I am…read more For the last 7 months, I've been seeing Dr. Charlotte Howard for individual and Dr. Jev Sikes for group therapy. I'd never heard of group therapy outside of a rehab setting, but the combination of individual attention and working with others in a group has made it easier for me to recognize how my own reactions are received in others. Going to Deep Eddy feels so indulgent because I am taking the time solely for working on myself. However, the time I spend here has improved my outlook, my self image, my attitude, and every single relationship in my life. I highly recommend Charlotte or Jev (or anyone they recommend) to those who are ready to spend time and attention on themselves.

I really only needed them to manage 4 medications (lithium, Quetiapine, lamotrigine and propranolol) no controlled substances. The dosages were already figured out. All the work had already been done for them. I also listed a bunch of other PRNs that I had tried while in treatment that i wasn't currently taking. Again no controlled substances, they were trazadone, gabapentin, hydroxyzine. I've been a RN for over 12 years, I was the supervisor on the first acute care floor in central tx to take on covid. The first wave really did a number on me that caused a lot of my PTSD. Anyway, what im trying to say is I tell people when they haven't been honest with me, to avoid being resentful toward them. When I tried to set up this appointment to see a PA for medication management I was denied because I was too "high acuity." What happened before that was me giving Christopher Keener some honest feedback on his response time. They wouldn't confirm the appointment until they had a credit card on file. Before I could put my husband's credit card on file I had to fill out a release of information form. Which made me feel like a criminal that had to prove my innocence. Credit card information has nothing to do with HIPAA. I have never heard or been asked to do this before. I was told I would be called as soon as it was in. I did it right away, waited, emailed to see if he received it, waited a little longer, tried to access my portal to enter the card but it hadn't been set up, I called back got someone different they said they sent him a message and he would be calling back in 20mins, it never happened that day. I wanted to get it done because I was finishing up treatment the next day and wouldn't have my phone on me. They would only hold the spot for 24hrs and i was worried I'd loose it. No attempt was made to reach out to me for clarification, no doc to doc was requested. Just a refusal. The corespondance is copied and pasted below. Notice the times. I gave him some honest feedback about response time at 11:46 and the refusal was sent at 11:52. I think somebody(Christopher Keener) may have got in their feelings and did this passive aggressive lash out. I'm really surprised that a therapist(Christopher keener) could have such thin skin. I love his its not you its me response. "Please know this isn't a reflection on you in any way; it's simply about making sure you receive the support that's best suited to your situation."
