I had an extremely upsetting experience at SoCal Dental when I went there to have a tooth that was…read moredamaged in an accident repaired. There was no reason for them to touch, drill, or alter my two front teeth, yet they proceeded to drill into them, creating additional trauma and leaving my teeth looking worse and aesthetically unappealing. I came in expecting them to repair the tooth that was actually damaged from my accident--not create problems with teeth that did not need treatment. The situation made me question why additional work was performed when it appeared unnecessary, and whether they were creating additional dental damage in order to justify additional treatment and billing. Based on my experience, I am deeply concerned that the practice may be engaging in deceptive or potentially fraudulent billing practices, and I believe their treatment of my teeth and the charges associated with it should be thoroughly investigated. If you notice in the first picture, I posted there's only a crack in my back tooth. My front teeth are perfectly aligned. There's no indents, there's no drill texture, There's no lines. It's just a smooth Tooth however, in the second photo, this is me leaving the dentist office they did not address my original crack Tooth instead, they did their own thing on my front teeth!!! And look how horrible it looks

My previous dentist, who actually teaches at UCLA, completely botched my dental work, making my teeth and my chewing significantly worse than it originally was. From then on I could not reach the office. They ignored me. I had to go there in person and I was treated badly, until they realized I was about to take legal action. Then they apologized. I finished every tray. Today I came in to ask what the next step was. They said my teeth are still not corrected and I may need up to 14 more trays, at an extra cost. I asked how there can be an extra cost on a treatment I already paid for. Her answer was that every body reacts differently. I asked what the cost was. She would not tell me. I had been waiting since 10 am. At noon, instead of a number, she said I was making a scene and asked me to leave and come back later. All I did was sit and wait. Two years, and the treatment is not finished. They would rather push a patient out the door than finish the work. I do not recommend this office.

I recently had a visit for a cleaning. Before the cleaning, I mentioned to the hygienist that I was…read moreexperiencing a minor amount of pain on one of my teeth, sometimes, after she asked routine questions that would prompt the explanation. I further expressed that the pain began after I had a tooth shaven earlier this year. When I called in earlier this year, after the adjustment on the tooth, I was told that the pain was normal and it gradually go away, however, if it remained severe, then I could come for another adjustment. The pain did gradually reduce as the original doctor stated. The hygienist recommended that I speak with Dr. Afar after I mentioned this information to her. Dr. Afar checked on the tooth, but I will say that he was gruff and rough in how he handled me during the process. After examining my tooth, he expressed how there may be a potential issue, but he further told me that the reason I started experiencing pain was not related to the work I had done. He also stated that I would probably need to have a root canal done, but he did not initially explain why, which I had to further inquire from the front desk assistant. It was a completely different and more extreme assessment from the hygienist as well as the doctor who worked on the tooth earlier this year. However, there was no sense of urgency on his behalf after suggesting such an extreme measure. In addition, he completely dismissed when I stated the pain began to tell me when and why are started experiencing pain, even though it was mentioned that I never experienced pain before the adjustment this year. The interaction just came across as dismissive, with being given a generic response to suggest something unnecessary and expensive as opposed to tailoring a response specific to my individual needs.
