I immediately saw my general dentist, who recommended that the tooth be extracted and replaced with an implant. As you can imagine, I was extremely nervous and anxious about the idea of oral surgery. I reached out to Dr. Sam Vahedi's office, and from the very first interaction, they were incredibly accommodating and professional. They understood the urgency of my situation and scheduled me promptly, which immediately helped put me at ease. The moment I walked into the office and met Dr. Vahedi, I felt calm and reassured. He has a very confident yet kind demeanor that instantly builds trust. They performed a CT scan, and Dr. Vahedi took the time to thoroughly explain exactly what was going on and what the plan would be. He explained that the first step would be extracting the broken tooth, which had three roots. During the procedure, he carefully numbed the area. There was only minimal discomfort with the numbing, and after that, I truly did not feel any pain at all. I could feel some pressure and hear some crunching, but there was absolutely no pain. Throughout the entire process, I felt completely confident in Dr. Vahedi's technical expertise and knowledge. It was clear that I was in very capable hands, and sure enough, he did a magnificent job. His assistant, Heidi, was also wonderful--very attentive, reassuring, and kind. I was so relaxed during the procedure that they actually thought I had fallen asleep! That alone speaks volumes about how comfortable and stress-free the experience was. I will be returning in several months for the next steps of my implant process, and I am extremely grateful that Dr. Sam Vahedi is my oral surgeon. My concern was that I often felt encouraged toward higher-cost treatments without receiving explanations that gave me confidence they were necessary. For example, when I was told I needed a deep cleaning, I don't recall being given a clear explanation based on the condition of my teeth at the time beyond the fact that I had received one previously. Regarding the Invisalign issue, my frustration was not the outcome itself, but how it was handled. I raised concerns beforehand, incurred additional expense afterward, and felt dismissed when I returned seeking help. One of the first recommendations I received was for a deep cleaning, which is significantly more expensive than a standard cleaning. Maybe there were legitimate reasons, but I never felt like I received a clear explanation based on the actual condition of my teeth and gums. In fact, the hygienist also said she could not do a standard cleaning because she could 'be held liable'. I was shocked. More broadly on more than one occasion, I often felt pressured to add services and then told they were essentially "free" or "only a few dollars" because the charges could be applied against my $150 deposit or membership credit. That logic never made sense to me. It's still my money. It felt like the office would recommend additional treatments and then use money I had already paid to make the cost sound insignificant. The whole thing felt more like a sales tactic than transparent healthcare pricing. What really made me question things was when I showed my treatment plan and charges to a few dentist friends. Several of them were surprised by some of the extra fees and told me those were things many dentists typically don't charge for separately. I understand every office is different, but by that point it was hard not to feel like the practice was looking for every opportunity to bill for something. 2) I lost confidence after a crown procedure. Before getting a crown, I specifically told the dentist that I used Invisalign and even brought my trays with me. I was assured the crown would be shaped so my trays would still fit afterward. The crown itself was fine, but my Invisalign trays no longer fit. I ended up having to spend hundreds of dollars and significant time getting new trays made. To make matters worse, the office later told me they would try to help by providing a complimentary scan. Based on that conversation, I made a special trip back to the office, only to be told when I arrived that they couldn't do it after all. The whole interaction felt very dismissive. No one seemed particularly concerned that I had made the trip based on their earlier assurances, and there was little effort to take accountability for the situation. 3) The stellar reviews make more sense now. Patients are offered complimentary services (such as fluoride treatments) in exchange for leaving a review, and you're asked to show the review before receiving the free service. While everyone is free to leave whatever review they want, it definitely made me view the overwhelmingly positive ratings a little differently. To be fair, the office is beautiful and many of the employees are genuinely kind. But between the upselling, the Invisalign issue, the communication problems, and the review incentives, I ultimately decided to take my dental care elsewhere.

That completely misrepresents the facts. He could have easily called me the next day and cleared the air. I am not interested in publicly hurting a man's career. But this has been on my mind, that if he hurts someone, I will feel guilty that I did not share this information. NOTE THAT HE DOES NOT ACTUALLY DENY HIS YELLING AND SCREAMING. Instead, he says "Yelling or inappropriate communication of any kind does not align with the environment we strive to provide for our patients and team members." Of course, it does not align with an environment that anyone would "strive to provide." No professional office would openly "strive to provide "an environment where a customer/patient is treated like that. It happened. There was at least one staff member who witnessed it. Plus the screaming was so loud, people in the lobby could have easily heard it. The man completely lost control. I raised the concerns in person at the time. His response is that the concerns should have been raised at the time. They were raised at the time. I quietly raised the issue that I have already signed a contract and put down a deposit. He went into a screaming rage. Really screaming. This is hardly someone who is happy to discuss any issues. There were witnesses, at least one other staff member in the room. Then he left the room and came back minutes later, screaming again. Even with a break, he could not get under control. He came back and showed me a ridiculous interpretation that the contract said all services must be completed in 30 days. (Of course, it really said that I had 30 days to accept the contract. ) I pointed out that the services could never be completed in 30 days. He responded "But you never made a deposit". His own records show that I had made a deposit immediately. This is not a guy who is happy to discuss any issues. It is a man out of control. There was another issue. A faulty CT scan, which he told me was a reason for a delay. Delays is his big thing. So I went to UCLA Health to get another CT scan. His CT scan was wrong. I was charged approximately $250 for an incorrect CT scan. But mistakes like that are possible and understandable. It's the losing of his temper that is why I am writing this review. There were other people in the office that day. They all saw it. A man who can lose control like that must have done it other times. My concern is that anesthesia is part of his treatment. That is a serious health risk. A man who can lose his tempter...if that happens during anesthesia, you're in serious trouble. Again, I don't want to mess with a man's profession. But I would feel guilty if he hurt someone, and I had not shared this information. He should have calmed down and contacted me and this could have been cleared up.
