For us, it was important to have a consistent, responsive loan officer who understood our needs and our market, that is why we called Chris Sittig. We have turned to Chris for our lending needs in the past and once again did a great job. He is always professional in presenting the lending options to meet our needs. He is always available to answer our questions directly by phone, text or email and he is willing to rerun the numbers based on our evolving needs and changing markets. Chris was a great communicator throughout the process, which is not the experience we had with seeking assistance from the online lenders who promised low rates. In fact, the loan rate we received from First Home Mortgage was lower than the two online lenders we consulted. There is no doubt, the lending process is becoming commoditized, but relationships can not. In our experiences, when you are making one of the biggest purchases of your life or refinancing, you need a consistent, available and trusted partner and Chris exceeds those expectations.

What I accomplished in six (6)…read moreweeks with Brian and the team over at Academy Mortgage, could not be accomplished in over six (6) months with Lending Tree!!! Before I found these guys, I was thoroughly run through the ringer at Lending Tree. This is the story, trimmed down: I spent literally six months trying to get a refinance through Lending Tree. I wish I'd read the reviews first cause I would have never gone that route (and never will again). Trying to get a loan from Lending Tree was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had in over 30 years and I remember quite vividly as a child getting my loose teeth pulled out by my mother with a bloody towel. For one, Lending Tree is notorious for employee roll-over. I had three (3) different agents, working in two different time-zones, sometimes with 2-3 weeks going by before I was assigned a new agent. You know it's game-over when you call the agent's extension and received "Welcome to Microsoft Exchange!". Which meant another agent got the axe. Once the new agent was assigned, I had to resubmit parts of lost information, and re-establish a relationship with the agent which was unbearably stressful. Long story short, I was in my last few months before an Interest-Only loan I was locked in on went terminal (a decision I poorly agreed to at one time due to lack of capitol and other reasons, too much to go into at this time)... I talked to my Real-estate guy and he said I should have hit him up to begin with, he knew just the group to work with, they're local, they're nimble, they stay on-top of it; and man was he right. I was provided Brian N.'s cell phone # over at Academy Mortgage... That right there closed the deal for me. Communication with Lending Tree was atrocious, I would place a call or send an email/fax and not receive word back for three (3) *business days*... Imagine communicating with someone and it taking 12-15 business days to get one issue resolved because if you had one 't' that needed crossed or an 'I' that wasn't dotted, you had to resubmit; pulling your hair out in the process. When I called Academy there was a real human voice at the end of the phone every time. I was able to communicate w/the folks at Academy in real-time and they were completely understanding of situation, in-fact, they even went out of the way to follow up to my emails over the weekends. As I stated above, what I accomplished in six weeks with Brian and the team over at Academy Mortgage could not be accomplished in over six months with Lending Tree. I wish I could give this sham of a company zero stars…read more Unfortunately, I was a client of City Lending in pursuit of a mortgage for my first home purchase. We worked with Loan Officer Kennedy and his team for this loan. The service was pitiful and I am in shock that we were able to close on our home. We put the offer on this house May 15th and were accepted on May 20th. Kennedy and his team began working on our loan and based on email threads we received, it was clear that for a good chunk of time, between May and June, nothing had been completed on the papers. My fiancé and I were actively replying and quick to send any documents requested, typically with a 24-hour turnaround time. We were set to settle on June 24th before my fiancé and I had to leave town for a work trip. That gave the team about four and a half weeks to complete our loan. From the beginning, Kennedy knew that we were using the MD Smart Buy Program and promised that it would be cleared within days due to a contact he had at the state office. Weeks went by where we only heard from the underwriter and on June 17th, a HOLIDAY weekend, the underwriter urgently calls us at 3 PM asking us to submit a BRAND NEW 20-page document ASAP as it was needed for the state application. WHY this document wasn't sent to us WEEKS prior - I do not know. My fiancé and I were out of town with no access to the files and resources needed to fill this out. Sadly, it was a holiday weekend and Monday then became moot in terms of submission to state as nobody was working. Now, we are heading into a 4-day work week in which our state application has YET to be submitted and we are supposed to close Friday at 9AM. Kennedy and the underwriter go silent and say they've submitted it to the state, despite their claims the application was done"2.5 week prior". Once the state confirms receipt, the state asks for additional information that was missing from the initial submission. Again, this was information Kennedy and the underwriter failed to request from us in advance of submission. Now, it's Friday AM and we are not closing on time, we are asked to push until 3 PM. Kennedy writes again stating that we are not closing and the best he can do is Monday, but told the Title company Tuesday. He was not transparent at ALL throughout this process and every day that went by felt even more like we were being lied to. Eventually, Monday rolls around with no settlement and more lies/evading the truth. Tuesday rolls around, same story. At some point Tuesday, someone from City Lending called the LISTING agent and told them lies that we were refusing to come to settlement, escalating the entire situation even further. The sellers were depending on our purchase for them to go and purchase their new house. At end of day Tuesday, the state replied back to Kennedy and his team that there were 27 outstanding items on the submission they sent in. This was a variety of incorrect dates, mistakes on their part, and missing documents. End of day Tuesday the revised application was sent back to the state. Eventually, we get the email the state has reviewed and accepted the application and now it is back to City Lending for final review and to the title company. Wednesday AM rolls around and we are hopping on another flight having to reschedule our fourth notary appointment due to City Lending lack of urgency and competency. We land in our new state and now have an afternoon appointment with a notary. Our title company has yet to receive the paperwork for review before they can release it to the notary company for print then travel to our meeting location. After 5PM EST, the papers are in and by the grace of God and a very kind Title Company executive, we sign our paper's This chaotic story should convey how poorly handled this situation was. City Lending should be ashamed of their business practices. This is not how your treat clients who are eager, ready, and quick to provide documentation. I will NEVER use their services again and I will be sure to let any person buying a home know not to pursue this business. The fact we even had to pay the lending team sickened me to my core - the only thing we got out of this was a week of pure stress, a ruined business trip, and many burnt bridges. Do yourself a favor and do not use City Lending.

His gate-keeping around the products he offers, is very obviously for his own financial benefit. I wouldn't trust this guy to finance a trip to the zoo.

These non-qualified individuals range from foreign nationals to DACA recipients such as myself, and even immigrants who pay taxes and utilize an ITIN. Upon reaching out to this company, I was immediately connected with Senior Loan Officer Hubert Rivera, who was very insightful and responsive throughout this entire process. In this current market (2021), obtaining a home at asking price was often very difficult. Mr. Rivera expeditiously sent over pre-qualifications and run downs of mortgage costs for all of the properties we came across and made offers for, despite facing constant rejections. Upon being accepted as a backup offer after losing hope in purchasing a property, Mr. Rivera immediately begun his paperwork and sent over all of the documents needed for signing. There were times where Mr. Rivera was unavailable and unable to return messages, which was understandable due to the high volume of paperwork he was processing. He did go above and beyond his duties as a loan officer by breaking down the process of purchasing a home and drafting up a list of all the items I would need to present in order to obtain clearance from the underwriter. Throughout this entire process, my mortgage became very close to falling through on numerous occasions. I was often scared by the many reviews left by individuals who have conducted business with this bank stating poor experiences and major problems. Despite this, I took a leap of hope and placed my full trust into Mr. Rivera and his loan processor, Rosalia Gramegna. These two individuals possessed the foresight to see potential problems with my loan application and were able to rapidly develop solutions to overcome them. Ms. Gramegna was very responsive as well and returned my emails as instantly as she received them, answering all of my questions with detailed information and a hint of warm and kindness. Despite my closing date being pushed back on numerous occasions due to minor faults in our paperwork and some delays from the other party, the team at ACC mortgage was able to move my loan for closing as soon as they obtained the clearance necessary to do so. They were able to make my dream of purchasing a home for my family come true; I will forever be in their debt for their tremendous efforts. HOWEVER, It is very important to note that in order to make this possible, you have to be willing to commit to the process and be extremely responsive to their requests. You must be diligent in returning their emails and providing them with an abundance of information necessary to clear your loan. THERE IS NEVER TOO MUCH INFORMATION TO PROVIDE TO AN UNDERWRITER. The documents to be presented to this bank must be neat, organized, detailed and accurate. The role of the consumer in this mortgage process is just as important of that of the bank; YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE TO OBTAIN THIS LOAN. REMEMBER, THIS BANK CATERS TO NON-QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS, THERE WILL BE EXTRA STEPS TO TAKE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THIS MORTAGE. In the end, ACC Mortgage is making a major difference in the non-qualified/immigrant community as they are allowing those who work hard and save up to obtain the home of their dreams. Jeff is the type of loan officer you'll appreciate in the long run...we worked with Jeff for roughly 6 to 7 months as we searched for the right property to suit our needs. Jeff and his team must have ran about 10 different offer scenarios and each and every time Jeff wished us the best of luck. At times I would reach out to Jeff just to ask questions, and if he didn't answer he would always call right back. Even when we considered going to a different bank for a better rate, Jeff asked for time to search for a better deal and he delivered.
